Hairsational You are right. Which is why its important to write yourself out of it if you are a service provider. The 'fine print' makes it someone elses problem if there is a problem
SLR Drive Vision and Future
Hairsational Yes, the third party studio would sue SLR directly, but the agreement the user would have signed would put them on the hook for any costs associated with SLR being sued by the third party studio (legal fees, damages, etc).
Also, neither the users nor SLR are likely to get sued for the mere uploading of copyright protected content--its the creation of the derivative works of AI PT and AI script and the distribution (downloading) that are the potentially copyright violating parts.
Again, I'm not in the legal field, so don't trust anything I have to say.

"doublevr"#p95242 It's top priority to introduce
2TB storage for $29.99/mo500GB Storage for $14.99/mo including some30 monthlyunlimited streaming only AI PT and Scripts. With an option for paid downloads like $9.99 per PT AI render or script
Gotcha thanks
re the copyright stuff, you guys are forgetting this is a private cloud, the videos are not shareable to anyone
It's not much different than people uploading copyrighted videos onto Google Drive or Dropbox (which has been a thing since forever). So long as they are not shared then there is likely no issue

I'll leave it at that because this has gone incredibly off-topic. Sorry to the OP.
I like that SLR is creative -
You try lots of new things, but for me they broadly fit into two categories
1 ) Your devs and team are having fun and pushing the boundaries. Our membership "investment" in SLR ends up with new impressive features and of course a steady stream of new content
2 ) Your marketing people are brainstorming about how to get more money because your regular subscribers /members are not providing you with enough money.
I am a big fan of (1), but I feel there are a lot of things you come up with which are 100% in category (2), Weaning us onto some new "value add" product and bleeding us like we are trapped pigs in a factory farm
I dont use anything but the most vanilla streaming in DeoVR (with downloads), but I do get concerned when I read that there will be a new tier, or that something super-basic like bluetooth support will be dropped

And how do you think SLR gets the users to pay for the lawyers? If another VR porn company sued SLR over copyright then you think SLR will sue everybody that put videos on the cloud?
I'm not saying that they will get sued but I don't see how they would ever get the customers to pay for the defence team.
PeeTee on the first day of a new month once you've got the feature on.
Credits will be very different soon. They might remain the same for free 30GB users and will be somewhat reasonably unlimited for 500GB plan proportion to storage capacity. Perfectly we want users to use drive to stream their favorite videos. Takes time to get everything in place

doublevr Sounds good. Still havent seen credits added back to mine but I figure its just buggy. Anyway I think you said something along the lines of unlimited credits with a fixed 500gb cloud storage space. That sounds more in line with what I am looking for. If there are in fact unlimited credits, that would solve a lot of issus. I would pay $15 a month Drive as it sounds like a good competitive price in that case. When did you say it was expected to roll out, was it the end of the january or something??

doublevr If you're on monthly, don't know if this has addressed yet, but what happens when your subscription is cancelled or can't renew (card expired/address changed/denied by bank)? Does your 500GB of data get deleted immediately or is there a grace period to renew sub before your 500GB of data gets deleted?
GenericUser3 nothing gets deleted. there won't be service access with no active subscription. Cancelled subscription counts active until expired. We can probably keep the date around a year before removing.
