Downloads plan revamp
[deleted] VR Spy is not owned by SLR
xeddin1 Heresphere is far better than anything else out there, but it's not free (there is a good free demo though).

xeddin1 But what you said shows it doesn't even matter if there is a cap on downloadable content because most of the newer stuff coming out isn't of interest to you. So how does this proposed download cap negatively effect you?
Of course, it doesn't affect me right now since I don't have an active membership, and even after reducing it, it still won't. But like I mentioned in my first post here, SLR is taking baby steps compared to their counterparts. Eventually, we're heading towards zero downloads. That's what concerns me. It's why I'm currently hoarding VRBangers' entire library (scenes in 6k and above) as a lifetime subscriber, for goodness' sake.

Silly-Sausage dude I get being about consumer rights but I think you're overreacting on this one. It's nowhere near as bad as the VRBangers thing

xeddin1 spot on
The last thing we want is to piss our loyal customers. We want to be super intelligent and targeted. Most of the users shouldn't notice a chance.
If you are a long term customer, regularly streaming in the app, have connected sex toy, tried PT your download limits are going to be much bigger than default ones.
Writing is on the wall - fewer downloads each year and eventually none

doublevr This takes us back to the initial questions I asked in this thread [deleted] just to clarify, whenever I visit a random website and it asks about allowing cookies and data, my answer is always 'No' or 'Essentials only'. If a newspaper requires me to allow them just to read it, I usually won't bother, I stopped using facebook because of the data collection policy, I only use it for communication.
Why are you and VRBangers pushing us to use your apps in every possible way? I've noticed Badoink is starting to follow suit as well. How does this benefit SLR, and how does using the app to watch PT make us loyal members, other than just collecting data? Help me understand, so I can help you better.
[deleted] just a very wrong perspective on things.
It's as simple as some users download out of proportion and those churn most. We are trying to eliminate the issue.
Those who don't churn should enjoy downloads without interruption.
Users hitting download limits might have some options getting extra download points.

doublevr Maybe I've misunderstood the whole thing, but here you've just explained to me what we gain from using your application as users, and I've got that part from your previous posts. What I want to know now is what your company gains from it, and what VRBangers gain from us using PLAY'A. What if I stream through the browser without downloads, do I still get the same benefits?
I only joined since begin may with an annual scripts subscription and i think i downloaded only one video + script.
Before SLR i used Eroscript a lot so that meant downloading a lot of files, but with purchasing a Quest 2 i wanted the full experience, VR+scripts.
The big plus of SLR for me is the possibility to quickly find and watch video's you like at the moment. If you don't like it, just skip to the next video in your search. No need to download it first and have to wait before done, although the quality is better when downloaded and watched with Herespere.
I have a porn disk, full of (VR) porn files, downloaded before SLR but i'm thinking of deleting it because i rarely use it now since SLR. Also a favourite video is most of the times less favourite the next time i'm watching it.
So for me no problem but i can understand the other views.
Need to say that I'm also against changing rules in a subscription period like my year sub.

xeddin1 Dude, you know what I mean. Like, does streaming through the app makes for them more incomes than streaming directly through their site?
[deleted]
xeddin1 Jeez man! This feels like a dead end. Now it just seems like we're brainstorming in circles, trying to break through the matrix of reasons behind pushing us to use the app. @doublevr could clear this up with a simple answer.
I just want to know the answer to this question, which I'm asking for the third time: The whole dilemma is about people hoarding content and finding ways to stop them so they remain subscribed. What if I don't download at all and stream directly through the site (not the app since we're not getting any clear answers)? Is that okay, and will it give us the same benefits mentioned before?
