this is a good shout on file size - I got confused at first by the option to choose h.264 and h.265 so at first downloaded the one with the larger file size assuming it meant better quality, they should just get rid of the h.264 option if they are having bandwidth issues.

Another point to make on file size would be why are some studios (cough cough SLRO) releasing scenes that are 80-120 minutes long. Who in the hell is choking the chicken for two effing hours in VR? I'm guessing nobody and I would go as far to say that the average user time for the SLR app is maybe 20-30 minutes. If bandwidth is really this much of an issue wouldn't it be beneficial to keep the videos to 45-60 minutes long?

Who are you to say what customers "need" or not? You advertised an offer. That's what was paid for. That's what we expect you to deliver.

I don't order a pizza and the deliver guy shows up with the box half empty and tells me, "well this is all the pizza someone really needs. Nobody really needs 8 slices. Only 1% or 0.1% of our customers actually eats all 8 slices, so now we're just going to give everyone only 4 slices after they already paid for 8."

And if it's only 1% or 0.1% of users that regularly use the full download allotment.. then what exactly is the problem? 0.1% of users that were already limited to 30 every 3 days are putting such a strain on the system?

@someoneX made a great point on the higher download limits of competitors.. and here becoming the worst of the bunch. I paid here, because it's supposed to be the best offer of the bunch, as far as content and allowed download limits, not lagging behind everyone else. Also, about exclusive studios.. and we can only assume more and more studios will be added as the market gets bigger and more creators and users transition to VR. I saw the new 'Upcoming' section that shows the coming releases, and many days it seems there are already 5+ worth checking out. With this lower allocation, we can barely maintain, let alone catch up on older videos. 30 every 72hrs, at least some catching up can be done.. with enough room for some old and some new, but it would still take many years to get all the good ones.

30 every 72hrs is a fair enough balance.. the balance that was enticing enough to pay for.

When should I expect to see my 50% refund in my bank on my lifetime membership?

Basic monetary theory is not political. Your response required an explanation. You seemed not to understand the causes of inflation and why all prices must go up, including the price of porn. All I can say is that although I cannot speak for SLR it would take either a blind man or someone incredibly self-deceiving not to see what's going on in the world. Europe has rolling blackouts and they turn the street lights off at certain times of day. In Germany they have returned to a robust industry for firewood. Stupid decisions make stuff cost much more.

RockyMtHigh I’m not gonna engage in a political debate on the website I come to to find out what movies have the best blow job angles lol.

Then shut up and pay more. Simple.

Not to be rude, but if you have a second credit card you can always use it to create a second account and ignore inflation and all its consequences....

doublevr OK and every time you lower it, it can never go higher than the new maximum, so the new data will always be a lower average than the maximum, meaning so even if 0.1% turns into 1% turns into 5%, but it only affects 5% so who cares? So that justifies lowering it further. So yes it is fair to question why we shouldn't believe it will go down to 100 per month, then 50 per month, then 30 per month, etc. Because every single time you lower it, the new data will say you can get away with it again.

Frankly, there was never a legitimate argument why lifetime shouldn't have unlimited downloads.

doublevr Policy update affects less than 1% of users. Something we want to get fixed as it creates more harm than it does good.

Then why even bother with the hassle of changing it?
If it is smaller then 1% of users then the possible savings never ever can outweigh the trouble you put yourself in by changing the contract one sided which is very questionable if it is even legal at all.

doublevr well you now have by far the most restrictive download limit of any vr porn site... using the "fair use" excuse doesnt fly. time to buy more bandwidth or fix your servers instead of imposing tighter limits.

As a long time sub why not limit the new accounts that sub and drop every month from leaching the site and allow long time subs to download more?

I'd avoid that expression "Fair Use" unless you want to give pirates a loophole. "Fair Use" has a very specific and clearly defined meaning in American law. Nelson v Tenenbaum defined file sharing as "not fair use". Fair Use internationally, for copyright purposes, means that the creative product can be shared freely for non-profit purposes. One example of non-profit sharing is torrenting, which certainly isn't what you'd want to encourage (I'd imagine) as typical "fair use".

        I'm feeling very sad...

It's like buying a car and manufacturer promises certain equipment and horsepower (and range, if it is electric car)...
and when you get the car, you realize that you only get half of the promised features. 🙁

My primary way of watching videos is download and DNLA, because it is not always possible to use a fast internet connection.

You must understand, that Your customers are living all over the world...
There are different kind of infrastructures in internet.
You know, we all are not living middle of the urban cities like Los Angeles. 😉

So, please please please, go back to the way it was.
(Or at least release the restrictions of some clients, like me.)

        No it doesn't.

someoneX Those sites don't have 25,000 or so scenes. You can download their whole library with 150 downloads or less.

[deleted] Fair Use internationally, for copyright purposes, means that the creative product can be shared freely for non-profit purposes.

That's fair use of copyrighted material in your own commercial content. ie music and video. We are talking about fair use of the network. This is why many other sites don't even allow the usage of download managers because it slows down the speed for other users.

NAVR banned me 2 days after getting an annual subscription with them for this reason. I couldn't even access the site to cancel my subscription, and through carelessness on my part, even got billed again a year later.

[deleted] Change the Studio File options from 150 GB to 40 GB. I've never downloaded anything above 40 GB and am not alone.

Then it's not the studio file
The studio files are lossless (not RAW)

So will you be offering refunds for lifetime subscriptions since you are altering the plan for instance? (9999 months - 4 months used = refund of 99.999599959996% of my membership payment) it shouldn’t matter to SLR I used less than 1%
