netcat only momentarily if that.
SLR choppy unusable streaming performance
Still seeing same issues on my Quest 3. Site is basically unusable. Can’t get more than about 5-10 seconds into a video and it hard crashes / boots me out. Yes, clearing cache and does nothing. Net speeds are fine. Local files in app work fine.
CraveDastry Dang, I wish there was more I can do to help here.
@diwanga , for you, does the stuttering problem happen also only DeoVR via SteamVR? Or are you also seeing it on DeoVR via Quest PCLINK (deovr from quest store)?
I wonder if it's specific to DeoVR on steam....
diwanga There are three main ways to use DeoVR with Quest 3:
- Native DeoVR. Launching DeoVR on the headset. No computer connected.
- Oculus PCLINK. Connecting to a laptop with a cable or AIRLINK, then launching DeoVR from the quest store.
- SteamVR. Connecting to a laptop as above, but launching DeoVR through SteamVR.
Which one leads to stuttering for you?
That should definitely not be happening. Probably not a DeoVR bug because I was using it just earlier today on my quest 3 and it worked fine.
The good news is that it's a fairly short list of things to troubleshoot for the native case. Start with the following.
- Did you already check that DeoVR is set to H265 and not H264?
- Did you check if changing resolution to a lower one makes a difference?
- Run the network stability/packet loss test I linked earlier. Do it on a laptop with wifi from the same location you normally use your headset.
- Which country are you connecting from? Any VPN in the middle?
- Go through the basic stuff too. Re-install DeoVR. Check hard drive space and make sure there free space. Verify there are no other apps running in Quest

Still busted. Literally pointless to try watching right now. I might get lucky and watch 1 video, then the stuttering and continuous crashing starts every 5-10 seconds into a video. Ugh.

Hi everyone,
We’re currently investigating the issue but haven’t pinpointed the cause yet. To help us resolve it, we need more specific information:
- Your app version
- Specific scenes with poor quality
- Whether the issue occurs with non-SLR content, like DeoVR’s own library.
Thanks for your patience and for helping us gather the details we need to fix this!
Let me know if you’d like to adjust anything.
Same issue here on Quest 2. DeoVR 14.1.2035 - As soon as I attempt to stream any 8K video the app lags up and crashes back to the Quest home screen.
After a couple of tries I was able to hit pause as soon as the video loaded, which stopped it crashing. From there I changed the resolution from 4096p or 4000p to 3840p and the app stopped crashing. Changing back to 4096p immediately causes the app to crash.
MikeOxmall Could you please update the app and check again? The latest version in Meta is 14.1.2305, or is this a typo?
JangoSLR Sorry, typo. Yes it's 14.1.2305 running on quest v69
MikeOxmall Thank you so much for your responses! Your issue has been identified, and the technical team is working on it. We hope to fix everything soon.

Just went from an Index to a Bigscreen Beyond. No buffering at all when using h.265 in the Index but in the Beyond it frequently pauses like what @CraveDastry had, doesn't matter the quality setting. This sites speed test had me in the LA CDN and I had 707mbps streaming and 525 parallel streaming.
Edit: DeoVR Version is whatever is the most up to date steam version in the past week is.
Edit 2: Seems to be tied to a sleep function in either DeoVR or the headset. If you hold your head still for too long DeoVR will pause until you move your head a little bit. No idea how to fix this as the range for “no movement” is kinda high
