theHobbit they routinely throw their dummies out of the pram
I had to Google that one lol
ok, I typed everything below and then thought of a question to preface all of my comments-- With the CG back grounds, are these made by shooting a PT scene in a green or gray room, and then superimposed on the CG back ground? In other words, can a PT scene be offered in both green/gray back ground AND with a CG background, or is it one or the other only? If so, then here is my preference--
I would like to give an opinion from a non-PT user--
My vote is to offer the PT scenes with a second version with CG back grounds. I have only seen one so far with Serena Hill. Are there more? My thoughts on that are, I agree with MickeyCheese that it does have potential to be a very good middle ground to give PT users scenes, and something usable for non-PT users. Even as a non PT user myself, I do believe that you should still make them for that subscriber base, fair is fair. All of us can surely name something that we want to see that may be unique to our tastes alone, and we all appreciate it when we get a scene made that satisfies our particular preference. But I do hope that you will also put in a best effort to allow these scenes to be usable for the rest, just like you are giving a best effort with AI to make all past regular VR scenes available for PT. Again to follow MickeyChese, when we get a new model that is highly anticipated debuting in PT, it would be very nice to at least have a CG version for the rest of us. My suggestion on the CG backgrounds though, please don't make them too busy and distracting. The futurist bedroom was neat and all, but it was a bit much with all sorts of colors and shapes on the walls, etc. to be using regularly. Would you be willing to make us another CG background to try out that is a little more muted and not as flashy as the futuristic bedroom? (not the blurred back ground that @doublevr mentioned, but just a slightly darker room with less flashy stuff).
In the absence of CG backgrounds, my vote is to use the all gray rooms. I still watch those scenes and I can deal with that, and in some instances I feel like the picture quality of the model is maybe even higher than in an everyday VR scene. I can not do the green background and suit though no matter how hard I try, it is a retina scorcher in non-PT playback and I'll have a headache well before the scene is finished.
I'm kind of looking forward to giving PT a proper go with the Quest 3, but currently the low res black and white Quest 2 cameras are not for me.
edit: ok, I clearly missed some of the points made in previous posts. In regards to floating dicks and having to reposition along with the models, yes, that would be something that would steer me away from watching the scenes.
