You might not get short on VR scenes in general but apparently you do get short on VR scenes with certain girls people actually wanted to see in VR (and even suggested them for it)...

And there were four AR scenes in the past two weeks. So much for AR scenes "only being bonus content on top of VR content". It's taking over more and more space of the regular release schedule lately. There were more AR scenes in the last two weeks than Nash scenes...

    The non-gray suit PT scenes were more finicky when I was testing them out on the quest 2 than the suit ones. So yep, I would say go gray suit for all new PT scenes.
    The latest few PT scenes have been very hot - casting selection here has been incredible.
    I'm ordering the Q3 as soon as it becomes available.

    I know a lot of folks are not too happy with the PT direction. But I really believe in the tech, and that there is a lot of potential here. We'll have a lot more signal once the Q3 gets in the hands of everyone.
    Until then, it drives me crazy thinking of the recent hot scenes and how they'll look in full color PT!

    I say yes, the green suit scenes is what finally convinced me to try out pass through. Even with quest 2 black and white cameras, the feeling of immersion you get is something new. For me, without passthrough these scenes are unwatchable no matter what. i don't think looking for a middle ground is the best idea, you will end up with scenes that are mediocre with or without passthrough. Lean all the way into it, make it as immersive as possible, and at the same time keep producing great non passthrough scenes, to keep everyone happy. I think there is a place for both

    doublevr I’m pretty sure that’s what you’ve already decided to do so it’s kind of pointless to object. The bodysuit scenes are completely unwatchable for anyone who does not want to use passthrough. The grey background scenes were actually watchable and a decent compromise especially if we can eventually put in decent alternative backgrounds. The full body suit just makes that unworkable.

      doublevr Although I am open to PT, I propose not to close the door on dual use of these videos with artificial backgrounds. The first example with added background looked very promising and I am sure it will be possible to make it work even better over time. I would rather have a choice between both ways of watching.

          Looks like there are a few options here:

          1. Full Body Green Suit

          Pros:

          • Very immersive in AR/PT

          Cons:

          • Doesn't work well in Non-PT/Non-AR viewing (huge disatisfaction for non-PT audience, which is much larger at the moment)
          • Custom backgrounds won't look good with a full body suit.

          2. No Suit

          Pros:

          • Makes it bearable for Non-PT/Non-AR audience to watch
          • Works with custom backgrounds

          Cons:

          • Less immersive for PT users and Non-PT users alike., both audiences will be dissatisfied.
          • Delayed release of custom background scene for Non-PT audience.
          • Alignment issues for PT users

          3. AI generated PT

          Pros:

          • Great for PT and Non-PT users. Assuming, the scene is shot as an SLR original. Both audiences will be satisfied.
          • Lower production cost (don't have to spend time and money on creating alpha channel and custom backgrounds)
          • PT and Non-PT scene is released at the same time (just need to release one SLR Original).
          • Provides a more customizable experience (can turn on PT for some scenes and turn it off for others).
          • Highly reuseable technology (can use the same technique for videos from other studios too).
          • SLR Developers gain AI skills.

          Cons:

          • AI generated PT quality is decent but not as good as alpha channel (AI generated PT can get better over time though).
          • May use slightly more headset battery than usual (nothing to worry about though).

          Final Recommendations

          • SLR should redirect its PT efforts into making AI generated PT a reality. This option provides great satisfaction to both PT and non-PT users. AI generated PT also lowers cost for SLR.
          • SLR should pause alpha channel PT production for now and replace it with SLR Originals (to see if production costs can be lowered with AI generated PT). This will also mitigate the dissatisfaction from the Non-PT audience (which is much larger than PT audience right now).

            doublevr What I wanted to say is that dual use would exclude the use of body suits. I guess you might still watch the body suit videos in non-PT if you want to see the girl but not the greatest experience.

              Option 3 is not so good for people like me who like pass through, so when you say Great for PT users, this simply isn't correct. You are just just trying to make a convincing argument for the proponents of Non-PT. This is why the drama queens have liked your post.

                  theHobbit I agree, AI generated PT is not as good as alpha channel (Alpha channel is so much better in passthrough).

                  The reason I mentioned AI gen PT is great for PT users is because it's not that bad and SLR is already planning to invest in the technology.

                  I recommended it because it looks very promising. SLR will eventually get better at it and it solves the contention between PT and non-PT users.

                      There isn't a massive contention - there are a few who want SLR to focus on VR and they routinely throw their dummies out of the pram but I suspect most users don't give a monkeys which format is being used as can be seen from the number of likes the videos get regardless of whether it is pass through or not.

                      I reckon the 5 users lol who are really into VR probably like looking out the location windows and bedroom decor or something along those lines. They probably get boners when they go to home department stores lol. Whereas most users are busy jerking off to the hot women in front of them.

                                theHobbit Even if I wanted a reminder that I’m actually in my own bedroom jerking off, passthrough does not work. You cannot do any kind of camera movement as the background (your room) is fixed and the girl is not so the second you tilt the camera or she changes position, everything looks wrong.

                                In order to watch the scene properly then, I have to physically re-enact what is happening on screen. I have no interest in doing that and neither do most people or all the VR players wouldn’t have the option to move the camera.

                                The other option is to restrict the whole scene to the same laying down position so you just have cowgirl positions for the entire scene which is a huge step backwards.

                                  doublevr interesting. I've been loving the full passthough releases, so whatever you do, make sure they still look great.

                                  I don't care if you keep the male there and remove it with AI, or if you add realistic environments for passthough haters, just don't mess up with the clean and polished look your new PT releases have ❤️

                                    theHobbit While I agree that most people will focus on the hot, naked woman in front of them, I still believe their is contention.

                                    From my understanding, the contention starts when a new girl is cast in only one format:

                                    • Users preferring non-PT want the scene to be an SLR Original to maximize 'immersion' in VR.
                                    • Users preferring PT want the scene to be alpha channel PT to maximize 'immersion' in AR.
                                    • Neutral users are happy as long as one of the formats has maximized 'immersion'.

                                    While you and I might agree that most users are neutral and the future is with AR, it still doesn't change the fact that there will be more people preferring SLR Originals simply because not many people have color PT headsets at the moment. Also, most SLR customers don't mind SLR Originals because it's been around longer than PT.

                                    Since AI generated PT has the potential to be as good as alpha channel, I believe it's the right choice going forward (it has potential to maximize 'immersion' in VR and AR).

                                      Personally, this is another reason why I was more excited about the custom backgrounds, because with the guy visible and a custom background, my body would never interfere. Even if you remove the guys body and only leave his dick, I can imagine it will take some adjustment in real life to actually align that with your body in order for it to not seem weird or like a floating dick above you. This also doesnt even take into consideration the constant changes in positions and angles in each scene. I would not be looking forward to constantly pausing the scene at each change and physically adjust just so the floating dick makes sense.

                                      I am personally not in favor of removing the guys body but I can see why some people would not like this.
