Vrsumo2017 As @Hairsational indicated: Z said the software improvements that happened over the last year make Q2S now effectively better than Q3 was on launch date in 2023, but all the improvements 'have flown through to the Q3 too to make it even better'. He didn't explain 'even better' than what, Q2S or Q3 in 2023.

No mention of better cameras. OS is the same, CPU is the same, display and lenses are worse. So my (step)fatherly advice to you is: don't buy it just out of hope for better looking PT.

I had pulled my Q2 out of storage the other day to try something. Being used to Q3, it felt like such a tremendous step back, especially the Fresnel lenses.

      I think your 'hopefully right', the big downgrade for me is the missing 3.5mm headphone socket, good sound is so important and immersive.

      Anyway after getting scammed on ebay, i've taken the plunge again and bought a Quest 3 128gb from Amazon as Meta a going to discontinue the 128gb version making the cheapest Q3 512gb £499, so decided to get in early before they sell out.

      Hopefully it's the right choice and the lenses are better as the older Frensel lenses have such a small sweet spot.

      Looking forward to seeing the the passthrough in colour and better resolution.

          There are USB-C adapters for headphones or dual ones for additional charging that might work. Bluetooth headphones should also be an option.

          I think you made the right choice for watching porn. When I switched from Q2 to Q3, I wasn't overly excited at first. I had read a lot of forum posts about videos not looking better and screen door effects and I saw all that as well when I put it on for the first time but that changed from the 2nd or 3rd time I used it. When I go back to Q2 now, the overall experience is (subjectively) so much worse than Q3. And even if you are not into PT videos, I find being able to safely move around in a room with the headset on very convenient; the other day with Q2 I felt almost blind.

              Thanks for the reply, i seem to have an issue with my quest 2 at the moment where it drifts to the right, and as i use my headset every single day, thought it was the right time, even if prices do come down. over the next few months The Quest 3 in probably the best value for money / quality at the moment and look forward seeing the results and listening to your opinions hopefully made the right choice

              I was gonna get the Quest 3S - but looks a bit disappointing similar to the PS5 pro - Fairly poor iterations IMO and a bit pointless.

                ...for the record i jumped from Q2 to Q3 pretty much on launch, and saw a definite improvement then, and it's only gotten better since.

                One of the endearing experiences of the Q2 was how much it changed over the years. The constant software upgrades meant it was a far better machine by the time i retired it, and i'm seeing the same ethos applied to the Q3. These headsets are far more of a work in progress than the average mobile phone, to be sure. And they're pretty resilient... and lube proof... which is nice...xD

                Avakian Lots of videos already, shot years ago that they never released! Can't believe we're actually getting new gabbie carter, katrina jade, lasirena69, Angela White, and more scenes.

                  Some are old yes, the Lauren Phillips one was done by pornbubvr i Think. But they start advertising for VR again and if i'm not wrong they don't have done this since the last epic fail.

                  xeddin1 I just subscribed for 5 years lmao. They range in terms of quality as some are shot more recently but majority are quite old. Newer scenes are at 7k resolution ranging from 45-80 Mbit/s. Older scenes are 5k res around 5-20 Mbit/s. Mostly 30fps, but have noticed at least one scene at 120fps. I think there is a big visual difference in quality between their older scenes and newer ones. I'd say they learned their mistakes and improved from their soft launch years ago.

                      xeddin1 They got 4 scenes tagged as 8K. The other 24 are their trash-tier old ones that are 30 fps, low resolution, etc.

                        xeddin1 You can look for yourself, they have trailers. After watching in headset. I stand corrected. They all look bad, 8k too. In fact the 8k videos don't really play, probably encoding errors. Majority of the videos are rehashed old scenes, with a handful of new unreleased scenes.

                          So i was just looking around at some other VR sites and i came accross povr.com. It seems like they are very similar to SLR except they are getting much better treatment from 3rd party sites.

                          Like they have 900 Wankz scenes and they aren't on a 3 year delay. Also they don't seem to hold back any scenes like they do here.

                          They also have 700+ Naughty America scenes and 90 Badoink scenes.

                          SLR still seems to have a big advantage in technology with the AI scripts and PT(if you're into that), but POVR seems to be taking the lead in content right now.

                          Is there any chance of SLR working out a better deal with those studios to get more of their content?

                            HughMungus Povr owns Wankzvr and Milfvr. That is why they have them all. They also have the Povr scenes plus Brazilvr

                            They have always had the lead expect for AI and the SLR scenes. They are a good site.
                            I use SLR over Povr because of AI scripts. I have told Povr that if they would get this they would be way ahead. They do have it but it sucks.
                            Also I have tried to tell SLR that the only other thing they have that puts them ahead is great SLR scenes when they make them.

                                HughMungus POVR is the aggregator site of WankzVR/MIlfVR and that's why they have all those scenes. There are actually zero NAVR scenes on POVR, these are all just 2-3 min trailers.
