Somone at SLR needs to partner up with the Jack and Jill studio - get yourselves a studio in Florida , pay J+J a finders fee and cast all the guests they bring onto their channel but in a more produced, well lit, and potentially POV format. The quality of girls they have is really breathtaking and many of them seem exclusive to that one studio (Noire, Lily Kawaii, etc)

sheldoncooper I’d say their current scenes image quality is on par with SLR and CzechVR. Maybe they're using the same camera. I just tend to prefer SLR because they use the fisheye lens to give that 190° angle instead of 180°, which is better for close-ups.
But upgrading their camera to 8k is just one thing. Their recent and upcoming casting lineup is crazy, and remastering their best 5k scenes with some retired models is another great move.

[deleted] Because I know what camera their 7K scenes were shot with and the scale and color characteristics of their supposed native 8K scenes is unchanged from that*.
When the producers change camera the scale changes slightly because the newer camera usually doesn't have identical inter-lens distance to the old one. This is especially relevant between the camera they are upgrading from and the limited 8K camera options available.
Similarly, camera models have different sensors and different image processing and that results in the color characteristics of the captured image varying between the models. Sites never correct for this perfectly and I'm yet to see any site upgrade camera without a noticable shift in colors.
Additionally, they are now upscaling older scenes to 8K with some new method that admittedly looks a lot better than whatever method they were using for upscaling their 7K previously. Coincidence that they happen to start claiming scenes are natively shoot in 8K the very moment they introduce this new upscaling workflow? Nope.
Beyond all that, why wouldn't they tell porkies about this when it's so easy to convince customers who really don't know any better? I bet they could do regular, non-AI upscaling of 5K to 8K and people would still be like "wow 8k! the image is so crisp!" because of the placebo effect.
* It's possible that some of their lesser used production teams, e.g. their Spain-based team, are shooting in native 8K. Their main US-based team is not shooting in 8K.
[deleted] I saw that too. There were some complaints after the first 8K scene, to which they replied that it was shot in native 8K with an entirely different workflow that still needed some optimization.

There are two versions, either for Quest and AVP. In a nutshell, it's a 4K 2D video from 2023 transformed into a spatial video. It required a few simple adjustments to make it look right in HS. I only checked it out briefly but i thought the result looked pretty good.

Cbomb333 I used the Quest version (mp4) and had to adjust the aspect ratio (in basic video settings), maybe also projection and stereo but not sure anymore. That was it. In DeoVR it played fine, just had to zoom in.

SchnuppiLilac I ended up using deovr. It was interesting but not something I would watch frequently. I definetly wouldn't pay the money NA is charging for it. Think it's 30 per month or extra 10 if you have a sub already. It should be free with a standard sub considering VR scenes are included already. Not consumer friendly. Eventually I'd like to try it with one of their pov scenes but I wasn't blown off my feet. Thanks for the share regardless.

Vrsumo2017 It's actually two video files in that zip file. The one for Quest is 5 GB, the one for AVP is a bit bigger. If you don't have 5 GB of free space on your headset, you should indeed clean up. But surprised that it seems you never downloaded a VR video and played it wireless from a PC or something. You are the wet dream of SLR senior management. I am starting to hate you!! Just kidding.

I don't believe he said that, he just made you believe that. He said it's just as good, avoiding all the points where it's a Q2 (lenses, display etc.). They should have called it Q2S. It's overpriced, considering that entry level Q3 is now only $130 more. I don't know how PT looks but how should it be better than Q3?

That's what he said. I re-listened, and he did mention that many of those improvements will flow over to the Quest 3, making it even better. Bottom line, the "Quest 3 family" is the best... according to him.However, the line he dropped about q3s being better than the Quest 3 confused me. It makes me curious about the pt, will it look better? We shall see

I had pulled my Q2 out of storage the other day to try something. Being used to Q3, it felt like such a tremendous step back, especially the Fresnel lenses.

I think your 'hopefully right', the big downgrade for me is the missing 3.5mm headphone socket, good sound is so important and immersive.
Anyway after getting scammed on ebay, i've taken the plunge again and bought a Quest 3 128gb from Amazon as Meta a going to discontinue the 128gb version making the cheapest Q3 512gb £499, so decided to get in early before they sell out.
Hopefully it's the right choice and the lenses are better as the older Frensel lenses have such a small sweet spot.
Looking forward to seeing the the passthrough in colour and better resolution.

There are USB-C adapters for headphones or dual ones for additional charging that might work. Bluetooth headphones should also be an option.
I think you made the right choice for watching porn. When I switched from Q2 to Q3, I wasn't overly excited at first. I had read a lot of forum posts about videos not looking better and screen door effects and I saw all that as well when I put it on for the first time but that changed from the 2nd or 3rd time I used it. When I go back to Q2 now, the overall experience is (subjectively) so much worse than Q3. And even if you are not into PT videos, I find being able to safely move around in a room with the headset on very convenient; the other day with Q2 I felt almost blind.
