Jacksonjdr94 SLR isn't free. It holds the title of being the most expensive vr porn subscription on the market.

Word.

Rakly3

Rakly3 we have a custom made 10k rig.

Will it be as awesome as your 8k rig? /s

Rakly3 unlimited downloads, impossible.

Other sudios manage it, so not impossible. You just won't.

Rakly3 Bitrates, we have the studio original files available.

You can offer smaller downloads in better bitrates, but apparently can't be bothered.

Rakly3 HereSphere, Stop assuming you know what's going on. If it was up to us, HereSphere would work with SLR right now. - I don't want to throw the HereSphere dev under the bus here. He explained to me the details and I understand his side too.

Not enough infromation public, but inference seems to be that you wanted his proprietary information he was unwilling to share, due to fear of you just stealing it and implenting it (likely poorly) into DeoVR. With SLR's reputation for shady practices and your stellar community relations (/s), I'm not surprised.

Rakly3 Schedules. Not sure what you mean. We don't decide when studios release their scenes.

You can't meet YOUR OWN publicly posted release schedules. This type pf answer is exactly the type of doubletalk that aggaravates people. Everyone know you can't trust SLRs release schedule. It's a damn running joke in the forums. Yet, here you are acting like you dont know what in the world we could be talking about.

Rakly3 Also, not sure what you mean by implying there is no hardcore on SLR, or what your definition is.

I dont like most hardcore, so I don't care about this. But: your content is pretty vanilla. Even when you tag something as BDSM, it's 30 seconds of someone lightly restrained with a scarf.

LordCrash In my honest opinion, your actual unique selling point are SLR Originals combined with releases from other major studios . For many users that's the actual reason for subscribing - not the fancy webpage or all the other small VR studios or all the gimmicky stuff etc. It's about getting access to high-quality VR porn.

Add in top-notch scripting and this comment is spot on. No one cares about the garbage ameture studios. They are clutter. I used to check new vids every day, but since major studios left, I only check on new scripts and new SLR Originals. I'm sure that you all preceive yourselves as visionaries advancing the future of VR, but your current customers are not investors in your visions of future startups. We are paying customers who expect regular, technically compentent, high quality releases on a consistent and predictable schedule. And we expect the terms of our subscriptions to be consistent as well, not continually negotiated down AFTER THEY ARE BOUGHT AND PAID FOR. And we certainly don't appreciate condescension and shit-talking when we suggest or complain on a public forum that you put in place explicitly FOR OUR FEEDBACK. Can't take the criticism? Close the discussion boards. What you really seem to want is an echo-chamber full of fawning praise. You all act like we should be thankful for this wonderful gift you're giving us out of the goodness of your hearts! You are a business, providing a product. We pay for that product. You owe us what we paid for. We owe you payment. If either sides doesn't deliver, the other side complains. WTF is so hard to understand?

Mutiny There's a half dozen of you on here I wish I could block from watching my shit because you don't deserve it.

No one cares about your silly PMVR nonsense. This platform is overrun with "creators" with overinflated and narcississtic views of their own imporrtance.

Will65 There's a lot of "we" talking, putting words in other people's mouths, and smack talking going on here. Please don't. 🤨 Scripting, big studios, or Originals are not my thing so much, but I'm not going to trash talk the "no one's" that care. I'm on the other end of that careless statement. Me and the minority are paying customers too, dealing with the same unfortunate and fortunate changes that come along. The probable truth is if you were new to VR, your tone would be a lot less negative than it is now. Don't entirely fail to appreciate the gift of this site and the people behind it making it happen. Customers are still paying their subscriptions, so that means this VR porn service is successfully running and still in business despite all the inconsiderate noise in this thread about any such short-comings. Rants and opinions are fine, but going on a spree attacking others is not, at least in my consciousness.

I wouldn't think to have to say this, but know that no one is perfect, and that applies to customers, businesses, and staff within businesses. Changes, good and bad, forward and backward, are mostly part of every industry and life; it's something we have to accept or else we get begruntled. Feedback is welcome, but at this point, the entitled expectations, comparisons, and demands have got to go, unless being disgruntled makes one happy. Some people like me aren't as concerned about half of what is being discussed, and many are mostly happy with no need of joining the forum to provide feedback. For those that do, this is a cooperative venture with the blessing of two-way communication. Not all, but many changes and features have been implemented as we've requested; it's a fair deal in my opinion. Everyone's passion is great, but please remember other people unlike you and your vision exist. Your ending words "we this ... we that ..." are kind of mechanical; remember that we are human beings on both sides of the equation. No matter who we are, we deserve a certain amount of toleration, respect, and courtesy. Otherwise, discussions are closed not because of thoughtful criticism, but because of a lack of common decency, hurtful comments, and offensiveness.

abcrebel Not all, but many changes and features have been implemented as we've requested; it's a fair deal in my opinion.

Ok then, tell me which requested features were implemented in the last couple months. Five should be sufficient.

abcrebel Feedback is welcome, but at this point, the entitled expectations, comparisons, and demands have got to go, unless being disgruntled makes one happy.

Will65 We are paying customers who expect regular, technically compentent, high quality releases on a consistent and predictable schedule.

So that's an "entitled expectation" for you? I'd say it's pretty much the very basic expectation to have on a site like this...

In my honest opinion, you try to water down very valid criticism with your long but pointless essay. I don't think that this forum needs another white knight shielding SLR with bloated posts about courtesy, there is moderation in place for things like personal attacks. Truth is, people here are passionate about stuff and they are at least honest about stuff. Let them voice their opinion, there is some truth to be found there. If everyone just remains silent nothing will get better.

I don't see anything entitled about customers expecting their most valued features and content that were included in the subscription at the time of payment to remain available until the next payment is due.

I get that some things are beyond the control of the team at SLR. Like a studio pulling out.
And I can understand why studios might do that unexpectedly, given the calibre of doublevr's personality

However the bulk of my dissatisfaction has been well within the control of the SLR team.

The download limit is within their control.
Heresphere API is within their control. (Yes, really!)

The compliance purge may have "needed to happen", but SLR giving their paying customers AT LEAST SOME notice that their favorite content was potentially due to disappear forever BEFORE the scene is deleted would have been a gracious and respectful way to handle the situation and allow customers to actually get what they've paid for before it disappears.
That was in their control, totally and unequivocally.
It's actually a bit insulting to frame this as entitlement.

It's very apparent that SLR has aspirations to become streaming only, and seek to lock their customers into their somewhat antiquated and inferior DEOVR app.

It seems bizarre to boast about the technical superiority of your latest camera rig in one sentence and then justify locking customers into using a technically inferior interface which noticeably compromises the visual experience while being less user-friendly in another.

It's also quite apparent that SLR isn't currently capable of making an app which rivals heresphere.

Bottom line, not much can be done about the mistakes made during the compliance purge now, or to bring back the studios which have already fled.

Downloads are quite limited now, especially compared to your less expensive competitors. so it would be ill-advised for SLR to limit them any further.

But the big dealbreaker for me is the loss of the heresphere API. Taking away that functionality from your customers just to enforce usage of your own proprietary app and prevent your content from being viewed on a superior third party app just seems petulant.

Other studios give their API support pro bono with no issue, and don't try to extort the creator of the third party app into sharing their software IP by using their content library and subscribers as leverage. That's so dumb. Really.

The list of studios which heresphere supports grows more and more all the time actually.

The difference is they understand and care that users don't want to be forced to use separate apps for each individual porn site they get their content from.
That's just an incredibly inconvenient way to view porn.
And the fact that the quality difference between one app and the other is so stark just makes it a bit ridiculous.

@Rakly3 let's both of us not engage into negative discussion. It makes it from bad to worse. No matter what you say will be rejected as long as they don't get what they are asking for. And when they do there will be the next thing they won't be happy about.

Let everyone be entitled to their own opinion. We know what we do is right.

I do appreciate some insightful comments in this thread.

claiming to appreciate the feedback while ignoring it wont get you anywhere either

bobbytables Why your other employee(?) said that choosing a color reduces

            are you familiar with unity?

bobbytables pull back on # of videos per week and instead push back toward a happy medium for release # and production budget

we never had quantity over quality approach. it just happens that we have multiple production team and it makes sense for us to expand. if you can level up production quality then be my guest.

bobbytables proper filtering tools for lists

            like what?

bobbytables IDK what happened, but if you compare video releases from last year to today the quality, the actual like bitrate and lighting and color, is horrible in comparison to what we had a year or two ago.

can you be more specific? just bring an example to make things clear enough for everyone.

bobbytables an actual save to favorites button that is separate from like button to better judge engagement

            it's in works

bobbytables spending more money on better contracts with bigger studios

That's not how it works. SLR is welcoming for everyone, others aren't. Apple, Google, Samsung aren't the most cooperative when it comes to smartphone markets and competitive products. I don't think I have to explain this as it's all over the place LOL

bobbytables higher requirements for video submission from third party productions.

            How would you implement it?

bobbytables checklist of requirements for all SLR productions driven by video segment analytics

Imagine you have all the data. What the logic would be? What would you be looking at?

bobbytables potentially moving over to a split subscription model. i.e. let people subscribe to SLR originals only for a reduced fee.

Why would we? It's a huge development task that brings nothing but trouble in every aspect you look at it LOL

bobbytables if you would be able to bring these into life I can see us working together. pick one of those things you can perform best at and we have a deal.

            Message https://forum.sexlikereal.com/d/2684-come-join-the-slr-team whenever ready

dango789 you guys should understand VR is living and breathing thing. It's not even a business as you can't make money there since you re-invest everything to make things happen.

Other companies have better luck taking money out of it. Instead we are fully committed to bring things up to the next level. It's not only about tech we invent, but also the policies we make. There's some logic in things we do which is not immediately clear for a regular customer, but we totally have to implement it if we want to succeed.

Please respect our decision. And if you are concerned of anything check https://forum.sexlikereal.com/d/3406-slr-2023-plans

LordCrash You Sire are either blind or stupid.

Passthrough, interactive scripts, groundbreaking 8K streaming app, BYOJ, JAV are super popular stuff no one else is anywhere close. Funny how you just generalize your own projections and "speaking" for all the customers.

              LOL
Tell you what, no one really needs unlimited downloads or HS 😂

Otherwise this thread is inherently conflicted because some very attached to particular features users are voicing it to the service who sees no purpose of it in the grand scheme of things. There's a disconnect between the two and that's how things worth.

Downloads and HS integration create more trouble than they solve. Taht's it.

Release schedule will always be a subject change for a hundred and one thing. You should never expect it

Jacksonjdr94 Other studios give their API support pro bono with no issue

                  Youtube doesn't LOL

The only reason other studios give their API because of the SLR app. If there won't be our app they would tell HS to get the fuck out. The same like they were telling us back in the days once we started streaming.

doublevr no one really needs unlimited downloads

I can totally accept that there are no unlimited downloads. But I understood from another post that only 0.1 % of all users actually download more than 30 videos per 6 days, so for me it is a bit difficult to understand why it is impossible to accomodate the few guys who would prefer a more common download limit, let's say 10 videos per day (which would be still at the lower end of limits you can find on other sites). At the same time, you could save traffic by boiling down the sizes of the original files of SLRO vids to like 40-50 % of what they have now.

I am not really comfortable with the increasingly hostile tone that has built up in this thread, so I would like to point out that I do not see myself as a part of the 'we' of disgruntled customers. Just conveying two things that would make me more happy than I am now.
