not enough to solve the problem but enough to know it's being used improperly
doublevr we never had quantity over quality approach. it just happens that we have multiple production team and it makes sense for us to expand. if you can level up production quality then be my guest.
You level up production quality by shooting at a higher bitrate (this is crucial), hiring better gaffers and people to color grade or putting your existing through better training. simple stuff like checking zebras, spending time doing lighting tests prior to the scene, etc.
doublevr can you be more specific? just bring an example to make things clear enough for everyone.
for example, the latest raw taboo scene in comparison to the Xxlayna/Apryl scene. shot in what appears to be the same location (so that's not an excuse) but with far worse lighting (skin is blown out, scene isn't very dynamicly lit, etc), with a much more washed out color grade, and much less intimate posing and action. blowjobs were shot tighter, models were closer to the viewer in seated positions, etc. I'm not sure if it's the bitrate or the flavor of log or what but genuinely really awful looking stuff. I cannot emphasize enough that color grading and bitrate matter far more to the sharpness than the difference between 6k and 10k (there are plenty of 8k scenes out there that look far less sharp and real than 6k).
doublevr That's not how it works. SLR is welcoming for everyone, others aren't. Apple, Google, Samsung aren't the most cooperative when it comes to smartphone markets and competitive products. I don't think I have to explain this as it's all over the place LOL
It's not clear what that has to do with giving third party studios a greater slice of the pie to encourage more longstanding subscriptions. At this point you've lost so many of the reasons I and other stayed subscribed due to them leaving the platform, and I imagine companies like VrBangers wouldn't have pulled out if they were getting a better share. at this point quality content is so sparse it makes more sense to just subscribe for a single month every few months, as most of the third party content is bottom of the barrel, as is a lot of the more recent SLR scenes (i.e. the Cherry scene where it's a dude not changing positions laying there misaligned with the camera while she's on top in 30fps).
Working in video production i'm sure you're probably familiar with this: https://partnerhelp.netflixstudios.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000579527-Cameras-Image-Capture-Requirements-and-Best-Practices#h_01G6KEYMZ7GVTMCMB8DMT832KX, but something along those lines with established known good video requirements would be a minimum. even if you want to automate it, it wouldn't take much to yank the metadata and verify, sure they could modify the metadata but then you just ban them from the platform for cheating.
doublevr Imagine you have all the data. What the logic would be? What would you be looking at?
the same stuff major video producers do, look at exit points (what positions do people exit on, that + other data can be an indicator of a position that worked well), the chapter/position/action bookmarks for the same reason. if the majority of users skip to the standing doggy or whatever on videos that have a threshold high rewatch count, that's indicative of a metric for quality or user preference. You can then do the occasional data wrap-up to talk with production and go over the key points that you want to include and should be prioritized and checked and focused on. I.e. if you have a video where a scene where the kissing of a toe looks off, sure some would be upset but the majority wouldn't, however if the video is perfect and the cowgirl/missionary/whatever looks off then that's gonna raise hell. After you've got all that figured out there are other key points you can set for stricter requirements (i.e. ask a producer/director: when doing missionary, based on data, 90% of people prefer the distance for missionary in SomeVideo.mp4 over the distance in OtherVideo.mp4, what distance was your camera at from the model {and other camera parameters}?).
Why would we? It's a huge development task that brings nothing but trouble in every aspect you look at it LOL
because, whether you want to acknowledge it or not (probably wouldn't even if you believed it, don't wanna anger contributors), the majority of videos on the platform released in the last 6 months are absolutely horrible in one aspect or another. the cost of your subscription made sense when you had a lot more big names contributing to the value of the subscription. Why would someone want to pay so much for 60% softcore, 30% amateur german content, 90% off center and just horrific video quality, etc for only like 7-8% winners. Like if i pay for your competitor (povr), of the recent 16 videos 13 of which are actual boy-girl sex scenes, and of those 13 9 were from studios that I would consider professional and not amateur, now on the flip side SLR's latest 16 contains 10 (11 depending on who you ask), with only about 6 that are from reputable/professional studios (no i don't count compilations as b/g content because it's recycled content). Not to mention they have third party studios offering videos with much higher bitrate and visual fidelity than SLR first party ones.
Make me a role that would actually enable me to enact these changes (and pays decently) and I'll happily listen to an offer. Realistically I know half the job would likely entail me fighting an actual uphill battle to get the things changed that need changed. So as much as I'm sure it would be cool to work in this space, the reality is (and for the sake of sanity) that I don't see myself putting up for any position unless there's some sort of guarantee that I can enact real change and not burn out fighting against people making bad decisions.
