  • Problems with "30 video downloads in 144 hours" :(

Of course streaming is a smart way to watch... I'm not arguing about that. It just needs a stable and fast internet connection. I myself prefer streaming when possible. 🙂

But as I said in first post:

Let me clarify a bit:
I work in city with fast internet... but I'm not that guy who watch porn when I'm working. 😃
My home is in the country side with poor mobile connection. So my only option is to use those hard drives.

I mean that SLR's customer base is global, and not everywhere has the same infrastructure as in big cities...
So streaming is not always option. That's why the possibility of downloading is important.

And my point wasn't even waining about download limits. My point was, that it seems that instead of 144 hours, the time interval is 192 hours in my case.

      I feel you on that G, slow net or no net...hell if my internet or electricity goes out I'm screwed cuz all my files are on my computer to stream to my quest. I don't keep any files on the headset

      But yeah I feel you, I'd download the videos too if I had slow internet. 🐌

        Five per day makes sense. The time-frame of 144 hours does not make sense, but since they've decided on that they NEED a counter (with remaining days and hours and minutes). I had the same problem, I think, but I remain overall satisfied with the service.

            Vrbangers was 10 a day. Idk how it works now. 🤷‍♂️

            My gripe is that I often download a file because I have a script for it that isn't available on SLR, or because I have scripted it or want to script it myself. I'm not sure that it is possible to stream from SLR while using a local script, and if it is possible, I dont know how to do it. So, every time SLR deprecates downloads, they make my sub a little less valuable.

              Will65 we will add script streaming on SLR for your own scripts. Just upload it in your profile and it works

                Your downloads don't all become available at once. it counts per download instance.

                if you download a file at 1 AM, and a file at 8 PM
                Then they will become available each at 1 AM and 8 PM

                the "full allocation of 30 download becomes available again in 2 DAYS - 8 HOURS - 28 MINUTES" means exactly that. Full Allocation
                If you don't download ANYthing between now and then, ALL your 30 slots will be available at that time.

                If you would download your last remaining download slots now, it will change to "full allocation of 30 download becomes available again in 6 DAYS"
                (Not exactly, might take a couple hours for the timer to update.)
                It does NOT mean you now have to wait a total of 12 days.

                  Will65 @doublevr It is possible!! and works literally perfectly honestly lol. if you go to any video, there is an SLR video ID (about 4-6 digit number) at the very end of every URL. If you rename the corresponding funscript to JUST that ID number, then you upload the funscript to the INTERACTIVE folder of sidequest (assuming you are you quest, not sure how uploading local files works elsewhere), then the funscript plays perfectly with the video.

                  Example, since there is a funscript on ero for this: https://www.sexlikereal.com/scenes/snookered-24683

                  name the funscript "24683.funscript", then upload it into the INTERACTIVE folder, all good to go, i have scraped most of the ero VR scripts and now have about 1.5x as many streamable vids on SLR scripted using this

                      Rakly3 I read all of what you say and just resent you and this entire scrooge like way of thinking. Why can’t you focus your efforts on the very small few that actually abuse downloading, and stop treating the rest of us like children that need to be told how to spend their allowance? Surely you have ways of detecting constant, steady download patterns and then throttling or suspending such activity? Instead you mistrust all your customers… I’ll add at a tremendous cost of good will.

                          Well... now I have to wait till last 6th day (or 8th) to see which 30 scenes I want to download... 🙂
                          Hope that it doesn't strain bandwitdh of SLR servers too much.

                            I simply explained how the timer works. Every download slot has its own individual timer.
                            The time you see in the popup is the time counting from your most recent download.
                            Your first download will become available before that.

                            Let's say I download 10 videos on Monday, and then 20 on Thursday
                            The timer will then say All 30 downloads will be available again next Tuesday.
                            BUT! The 10 download slots from Monday will be unlocked on Sunday.

                                  Axxipiter My last download limit expired on October 7th about 03:00 AM (my local time)... I wrote it down, that's why I know it.
                                  So my next new 144 hours (6 days) should start tomorrow October 13th about 03:00 AM (local time).

                                  It doesn't work like that.
                                  You had downloads on the 6th 9th 10th 11th 12th
                                  Those downloads become available on 12th 15th 16th 17th 18th

                                  On top of that, one of the devs corrected me and told me the slots don't unlock at 1 AM 8 PM etc
                                  They unlock midnight UTC. So no one ever really has to wait the full 144 hours.
                                  If you download 8 PM UTC, that slot will become available again in 124 hours

                                      Rakly3 well, despite many upset people asking, the team has not explained why we as good paying customers continue to get less of what we signed up for. So it leaves the canvas open to try to guess ourselves.

                                      In general I do stream, but like most others that have spoken up, I still prefer to download a 15-25GB file with decent bitrate to play off my NAS… and it sucks to suddenly be told there’s now a ration on that, and then a month or two later, a stricter ration.

                                      Like I said SLR is in its rights to enforce whichever heavy handed policies it likes, ignore feedback, double and triple down. Just don’t be surprised when there’s very little feeling of good will coming in return and you start losing customers who speak poorly of you on the other forums.


                                      obviously this post from yesterday is folks complaining about 190-gate vs. download-gate, but it still illustrates how this company is generally seen from the outside and discussed within other forums. With all the hiring y’all are doing you should consider taking on a good customer service/PR coach and listen to that persons advice.

                                          argyle43 We have more than one producer for our SLR Originals, and the angle depends on the camera and compatible lenses for that camera used.

                                          For example, the Canon R5 C can shoot 8K at 60fps, but only has one pair of VR lenses, Fisheye 190°
                                          Shooting 8K at true 60fps is not that common yet in VR. Professional cinematic cameras (Those huge ones like what they shoot movies with.) don't have VR lenses you can just pop on.

                                          For example, and I hope I'm not breaching NDA, our upcoming 10k rig are two separate cameras at 5K 60FPS with their shutters synced. The angle of those scenes will depend on which lenses exist for them.

                                          It is not the case that we in production dial some nobs and press some buttons and arbitrarily pick an angle out of a hat.

                                          All together, there's literally going hundreds of thousands of dollars going into these things, in research and development, man-hours, hiring niche experts, testing, optimizing, making new workflows, etc.
                                          Changes are never made on a whim. Even if they seem to be.

                                            Nice, that just a makes what could have been an exciting announcement of 10k vr sound like you got 2 cheap 5ks and some sticky tape.
