Flat 2D Content on SLR - and what it does to the creators ... we pause for now.

I can't understand who goes to a VR site and watches 2D.

KinkyGirlsBerlin If SLR wants to grow the base of awesome footage - maybe some kind of promo, funding, competition with prices etc. would help - the do it for DeoVR - they do it for their Originals... maybe for good friends in the business
I love this part. If they want to up the quality... then give some tuorials. I "THINK" we put out pretty good quality stuff, with everyday kind of people... but I have done all of the improving I know to do unless I'm shown differently. Our quality has drastically improved since we started, and it could likely improve more... but I don't know how. It seems SLRO are the priority, as it is their site... that being said... we did also build our own site for our content but it can't compete with $30 per month with 20 new videos per day coming out... best I can do is 2 per week. Maybe there are so many new studios coming in and getting a cut that without adding new subscribers at that same rate, pay will drop... that does make sense. IDK what the solution would be. If they could offer tutorials and quality control on videos then that might help. We will teach you how to get 90 to 95% the quality of SLRO and we expect that, or you can't post. Sorry that was all over the place... just some quick thoughts between editing videos

Banning and censoring creators like KinkyGirlsBerlin or others just for trying to engage in constructive dialogue and point out real issues—while genuinely wanting to support the growth of your platform—is not the right approach, just because the feedback is inconvenient for you.
It seems clear that many SLR users are not interested in low-quality 2D content. They came here for a true 3D immersive experience. And now you're trying to push them low-effort 2D converted to 3D, which fails to deliver the quality and sense of presence that users are actually looking for.
In my opinion, if you really want to add 2D content, you can do so as an extra option for people who came here primarily for immersive VR experiences. But you should be paying significantly less for old, recycled 2D videos—and instead, support VR creators who are actually helping to build your platform.
If all of us stop producing VR content due to lack of profitability, your platform will definitely feel the impact as users begin to leave for other platforms that are more Creator-Friendly.
TommyStone he clearly crossed the line with his most recent post that got deleted. Otherswise that's not the tone and place for discussion of these matters.
If you think there's something we can do to grow the economy and improve the platform please let me know
I may get my head bitten off for asking this...
But can you not just filter out the flat content? That's what I do and I never see it.
Is this not the case or something?
I may have missed the post you’re referring to – I was probably asleep at the time and didn’t get the chance to read it before it was removed.
I just hope you won’t ban me the same way you did with KinkyGirlsBerlin. What I’m sharing here isn’t meant as an attack – quite the opposite. I genuinely believe this is a conversation worth having if we all care about the long-term health of the platform.
That said, I’d really encourage you to look at the bigger strategic picture here, not just today’s numbers.
Let’s face it: your core value, the reason this platform became what it is today, is VR. Not just any content, but high-quality, immersive 3DVR experiences. This is what made SLR stand out from the crowd and attracted a loyal base of paying users. It’s also what brought serious creators to the platform. Move away from that, and you risk losing your identity – and eventually, your userbase.
Instead of blending everything together and showing users a cluttered mix of 2D and VR, why not make VR the default view, with 2D available as an optional bonus? This simple change would align with user expectations and immediately improve perceived quality and experience. First impressions matter – especially for new users.
Let’s also talk economics. VR production takes more time, effort, equipment, and expertise. Yet, the revenue split doesn’t reflect that at all. Flat videos – often recycled from elsewhere – are eating from the same pot as original, immersive VR scenes. That’s not just unsustainable; it’s demotivating the creators who helped build your brand. Reducing payouts for flat content and shifting that support toward true VR would correct this imbalance and incentivize growth where it matters most.
The truth is, VR creators – especially smaller, independent ones – are running out of viable options. But this situation won’t last forever. The demand is growing. The gap is widening. And sooner or later, another platform will step in to fill that void. When that happens, creators will leave. And so will the paying users.
You still have a first-mover advantage. But only if you act now. Reinvest in 3DVR. Rebuild that strong, immersive ecosystem your users came here for. If you want to future-proof your growth, why not go a step further and consider launching adult VR games on the platform? This is a massively untapped niche with huge potential and almost zero competition. Be the one who leads – not the one who follows.

Of course, you're absolutely right – it is possible to filter out flat content. But let’s look at it from a new user’s perspective.
Imagine someone curious about VR – maybe they just got a headset and heard about this site as the go-to place for immersive experiences. They land on the homepage and what do they see? A wall of 2D videos – the same kind of stuff they can find on any free tube site. Do you think they’ll stop and wonder, “Hmm, maybe I should check the filters”? Or will they just assume this site isn’t what they hoped for and move on?
In my opinion, this is exactly how SLR is unintentionally losing potential new users. First impressions count. Highlighting VR content by default and offering 2D as an optional add-on would reinforce SLR's identity as a VR-first platform – which is what it was built on and what made it successful in the first place.

Ah I see what you mean.
Definitely the UI needs an overhaul. YouTube has on their side bar 'Shorts' for a more TikTok viewing of content. You don't see shorts and normal videos mixed together.
I feel what SLR really should have done is made a partnership with a mid-tier 2D studio first. Not Brazzers or one of the top guys, but someone like Swallowed for example. That way they could actually offer some top tier 2D content. This would actually show that the platform has high performing 2D content, instead of just some random nameless.

We can discuss things all the day long. Just don't be disrespectful and assaulting as it doesn't bring us anywhere
doublevr
I'm really glad to hear that.
Let me know what you think about the ideas I've shared, and whether you believe any of them could realistically be implemented.
It would help all of us understand the direction you're heading in – and where we stand moving forward.
TommyStone we aren't doing well if you guys aren't doing well. SLR is here to give business for content and script creators, affiliate, performers and everyone out there.
Instead of waiting forever to see headsets sell many times more than they do we are actively looking for ways to expand the economy and get more eyeballs and dollars for your content.
Will check through your messages during the day

Take your time, I’m looking forward to hearing from you.

Really? I think maybe you are misrepresenting the average VR user who tend to be quite tech savvy. There is literally a toggle switch on the left hand side that you can switch off which is off by default. No?
doublevr If you think there's something we can do to grow the economy and improve the platform please let me know
- I think a simple popup when first visiting SLR with the options for what you want to see is warranted, save preferences as cookies & account:
Straight | Gay | Lesbian | Trans (can choose multiple)
VR Immersive | 2D | 2D to VR convert (if it's even a thing) (can choose multiple)
And have those same toggles always visible on the sidebar
That would be a huge step to implementing trans content on the main library page (if users choose to) which would make the trans category visible and not a hidden secret. Might even bring back the big trans studios
- Improve live cams more, compete directly with Stripchat by offering an equal or better interface and ability to record private shows. SLR/Dreamcam already have lower priced privates on average vs Stripchat so once SLR can offer an equal interface and features, it's a no brainer to spend money here
Private show recordings could have tied into SLRDrive nicely, scripts, passthrough
Did @KinkyGirlsBerlin really get banned from SLR for what they said? If so them that is crazy imo. What was negative about any of it? Someone point to it.
I truly don't know how a company would not show how the money is made for a studio. I read about how SLR wants to be like youtube. Youtube shows the creator every little thing it is doing to make money. That is how a company like that does it otherwise you could feel like you are being ripped off. You could be being ripped off. There is only one reason I can thing of for not showing the studios how the money is being split up.
If @KinkyGirlsBerlin got banned and is not going to have videos on here this is so sad for SLR. So us the customers lose another studio. Why would you do that?

theHobbit It's not about being tech savvy. It's about the first impression. When you first go on a site, you don't check all the features, you check the content... The presentation of the site is what makes an user convert or not. If they see more 2D videos or amateur studios presented to them, when their search was "VR Porn" or go to "New" and they see the title of the page "VR Porn Videos" but the whole page is full of flat videos, they might leave and search for another site.
As for existing users, I've already sent an idea to SLR team. Users should be able to pick if they want to see "All Content", "VR Content", "Flat Content" without the need of a toggle that completely removes the videos from showing up. If you are in the mood for flat videos, you should only see flat. If you are in the mood for VR, you should only see VR. But the navigation between these should be easy and fast.
Also, IMO, higher-quality studios and videos should definitely be on top of the "new" category, as those are the ones that have the highest conversion of new users. If you go to a market, you don't want to see bags of flower soil right next to soda and chips.
@doublevr , we’re all still waiting to hear back from you regarding your stance and whether the proposed changes are actually feasible. You were supposed to respond to @TommyStone TommyStone.
@rolly , I believe the platform could really benefit from having two distinct sections – one for Popular content and one for New Releases. This is something VRP handles exceptionally well. When a new user lands on the site, they immediately see what’s trending and worth watching. And “popular” doesn’t necessarily mean it has to come from top studios – sometimes even smaller or niche creators release amazing videos that gain traction quickly.
