Anton Not sure about android upload, I dont see why not though never tried it. Lmk if it works. If you opted into the trial period (I think you still can on another discussion on here) they give your account 30tb complimentary storage space. When you fill it up, you must delete stuff to put more on. Just 30tb, and each month they give you 2 free credits. Which means you take 1 video, upload it, use 1 credit to put in passthrough and 1 credit to put in AI script, so its going to be 2 credits per video. To be clear, yeah its free to use within the 30tb size they give, and you are not obligated to use credits. I have a bunch of old flat videos on there Im just too lazy to put into skybox for example. If I want more storage, its like $25 for 150tb, and it has an expiration date. July? The 30tb I dont think has an expiration date, havent hear of one
SLR Drive plans and BYOJ
Picouser It is fine for me. Early adopters always pays extra and 25 $ for 150GB is not way too much for me
Thats fair, just keep in mind its going to slow down innovation and expansion of the service for everyone, which includes you, if they only tailor it to a narrow group for starters. Same reason your iphone doesn't cost $20k like it otherwise would. The BYOJ stuff, especially to make it function well and be allover the place, it just going to take all that much longer
Picouser Yesterday I got an e mail from SLR
Yeah I got the same one. Its confusing cause Ive been on these forums for months with this subject and they kept changing things, continue to change things, and really it revolves around milking the people in front of the line until they come out with "the plan." I expect things in that email will change over the next 2 months again.
Picouser Every 25 credit bundle now comes with 100GB extra."
Its an informal bundle. You can pay per credit, or you can buy a pack of credits. The 25 credit pack comes with 100gb (now 150tb... for now....). If you buy two packs, you get 50 credits and 300tb, if that makes sense. Again, the tb space used to be a lot they were gonna offer, now its way low and they were talking about maybe unlimited credits... now its enough for 12 movies? It was going to be a monthly thing. Not anymore. Theres talk of a "real plan" soon, but thats about as up in the air as the talk up to this point as features they were promoting that all changed. Lets hope every video you upload is a winner or you are wasting credits. I tried to communicate this with some other users, but if you think of it, how often do you start a video you think is going to do it for you and it just falls flat, terrible acting, bad angles etc. Same thing can be true when you take a "good video" and make it passthrough and script, You realize it just doesnt work like you thought it would. Now thats 2 wasted credit. You only have 11 more videos to mess with before you gotta drop the cost of a monthly SLR subscription. Thats what people are comparing too. Its expensive in that way. Its just enough storage space to upload a few 4k videos and render them with passthrough and scripts, just a holding space for those videos. Thats all the sotrage is for.
We are still in the "beta" phase for SLR drive. You can buy credits, experiment, and share your feedback. Using the data from the "beta" phase, we will determine reasonable tariffs and drive sizes to propose. We will continue developing and improving the core features of the SLR drive and make updates available as soon as it's ready. Meanwhile, we are working on a new site: https://new.sexlikereal.com, where storage tariffs and extra features (like BJOY) will be continuously added.
Freddie We are still in the "beta" phase for SLR drive.
I understand that. Everything begins with an idea and evolves after that. Still you can't hide behind "beta" phase and let user and potential customers to be confused.
Maybe SLR should clarify what this small print means: * 150GB of complimentary storage expires Jul 12, 2025?
First I read that the "beta offer" ends then but I think it does not mean that. Do I lose everything I have uploaded to the drive after that and do I have to pay more to save my uploads? Does my drive size go to 150 GB -> 30 GB without paying more or is the 150 GB level my new limit? Is it more like deadline to SLR to figure out proper fee for drive or what? Is there some monthly payment or how is this going to work?
Please, be clear and give us all the information SLR has so far.
We have updated the SLR drive several times, ensuring that all user content was preserved, even during significant architectural and infrastructure changes. This reflects our commitment to safeguarding your data.
The message, "150GB of complimentary storage expires on July 12, 2025," indicates that we intend to introduce regular plans and tariffs when related functionality will be implemented on new site, approximately in July. While I cannot confirm the details on future pricing at this time, I can assure you that we will not delete your content without prior notice. You will have sufficient time to review the plans and decide whether they meet your needs.
Not sure if its just me, but it seems that Drive is having trouble keeping HEVC encoded 6k files in sync for PT/video (specifically anything from VRBangers). I have multiple files that have this issue, but am noticing that older 5k files from that studio are fine.
Could you please drop me such scene ids into DM?

Freddie ah I deleted them this morning to make room for stuff that was working
shankpot12 I'm having the same problem with new 8k 18vr scene. Ive tried a particular video 4 times now and the passthrough has been out of sync every time.
shankpot12 Yea, I am having to use 5k or even sometimes 4k versions, instead of 6k or 8k, to get them to work correctly.
TheStonedPRIEST check the bitrate of your files and your confection bandwidth with slr servers
https://www.sexlikereal.com/speedtest
For complaints above we see 100Mbps files with 30Mbps connection

doublevr Ok so I just ran a test
Latency: 136
Streaming Speed : 135 Mbps
Parallel streaming speed : 130 Mbps
The video in question is 68.45 Mbps
Edit: Woops never mind . My quest got much worse results lol. Now I know. thanks!
TheStonedPRIEST My quest got much worse results lol.
Did you run the built-in speed test of DeoVR on your Quest? If so, try some alternative speed test website in the Meta browser. DeoVR speed test results are always around 40 Mbps, no matter what your actual bandwidth is.
Regarding your original problem: Let's assume for a minute your streaming bandwidth is actually significantly lower than the bitrate of your video. Then I would rather expect that your video plays choppy with a lot of buffering, not just PT being out of sync.
The bitrate data is helpful... any way to get some sort of auto detect function in the upload interface to warn users? I think the current iteration is assuming the user knows a lot about video/compression etc, which for me was definitely not the case before I started trimming down videos in avidemux.
I also have a file that says it generated PT but did not load when I tested it. Tried a couple times last night but it never seemed to load any PT, will check again Friday:

shankpot12 we are adding bitrate acknowledgement info soon
SchnuppiLilac So the the video actually wasn’t choppy at all. It would play just fine in non passthrough. Regardless though, I used hand break to scale it down to 6k and now passthrough works
