There are way too many threads about SLR Drive. Some are about the vision and future, some are about new version etc. Really confusing if you are interested about the future and all the specs. I really dont want to read through 300 post thread to only realise there is no answer to my consideration.

Could you make some simple post what is coming and when? Drive size and cost etc. All the plans you have right now. For example I am interested when the SLR Drive is compatible with BYOJ. Both Drive and Build Your Own Journey are working fine so what is hindering linking them right now?

When these are working and we get proper Drive size and reasonable cost you get my money 🙂

Picouser Welcome to your typical forums 🙂 The serach bar on top is going to be your friend.

The pricing and storage options are all over the place. Thats why you are experiencing what you are, they are just feeling out the room. What was initially hyped and promoted has changed, and now the cost is too high for what you get. It went from 2TB storage and 30 credits for $30 to 500GB for $15, and now it's 150GB for $25, but only with the most expensive plan. Other options offer no storage for rendering videos, meaning you’ll need to delete files you’ve already paid to render with passthrough and AI. Unlimited credits idea now limited to 30, with inflated pay-per-credit options or upgradeable storage but at double the cost. It’s a mess. The 30 credits means 15 videos (passthrough and script) and this won't cover the mistakes or videos that just dont do it for you. Since launch, I’ve received 2 free tester credits that have been duds out of not many credits total.

Again, I hope this works out but they really need to read the room more. Seems like they are trying to milk the small croud who are "ready to go at whatever the cost" I remember hearing months back this really was their target audience, so the prices and storage space reflect this. Im willing to wait until they broaden their audience

Sorry if this question seems stupid - but what's the whole idea of Drive?
I sold my gaming pc cause Android does it for me - but the idea of a "cloud-like xbvr area" is nice. BUT what's the huge improvement in comparison to only streaming from the site?

      • cause I'd be still dependent on the server reliability when using the SLR cloud-storage-service - what was an issue a few years ago

i read before they are working on a new updated byoj which might be why they haven't linked them yet. I really feel an updated byoj is overdue as the current one is needs improvements like faster transitions between episodes/jumps of cuts within the same video and playlist of episodes accessible in player.

Anton Its not a stupid question. The drive is cloud storage, but its specifically designed to hold videos to be rendered with AI passthrough and AI scripts. So you download the latest video from wankzVR for example, upload it onto SLR drive, buy these credits, apply the credits to the wankz video, and shazam you got a video with passthrough and an AI script (if you have a toy) that never had these features before. Thats the point of drive. Or if you choose, you can put crap on it you have laying around on your hard drive and never use a credit. But thats not the goal of the drive. The drive is to make your non-passthrough non-script vr videos from 10 years ago or yesterday into something that now has passthrough and scripts. Hope this helps

sogman Thanks!! 🙂 I didn't think on the AI script - that makes sense!!

sogman So you download the latest video from wankzVR for example, upload it onto SLR drive, buy these credits, apply the credits to the wankz video, and shazam you got a video with passthrough

Exactly. And don't forget the BYOJ (when it starts working with Drive). With this golden feature you can now cut Wankz passthrough video to your personal taste: starting with teasing, then maybe doggy etc. You direct the whole experience and cut the crap out of video you don't want to see. Drive + passthrough + BYOJ = heaven.

sogman Seems like they are trying to milk the small croud who are "ready to go at whatever the cost"

It is fine for me. Early adopters always pays extra and 25 $ for 150GB is not way too much for me if the BYOJ is working with Drive. But I agree with you, there are some problems to tackle and the whole information around drive feels like a mess.

Yesterday I got an e mail from SLR. Cos pictures are so hard to add here I put just one sentence. Could you make this information more confusing than it already is? "Every 25 credit bundle now comes with 100GB extra." What? SLR web pages says 24,75$ for 150 GB (* 150GB of complimentary storage expires Jul 12, 2025).

So what is the normal pricing really?

            sogman
Can I also upload from an Android Devices?
So without the AI Features it is completely free?
I'm searching for a way to watch my former xbvr library without a Windows computer (:

Anton Not sure about android upload, I dont see why not though never tried it. Lmk if it works. If you opted into the trial period (I think you still can on another discussion on here) they give your account 30tb complimentary storage space. When you fill it up, you must delete stuff to put more on. Just 30tb, and each month they give you 2 free credits. Which means you take 1 video, upload it, use 1 credit to put in passthrough and 1 credit to put in AI script, so its going to be 2 credits per video. To be clear, yeah its free to use within the 30tb size they give, and you are not obligated to use credits. I have a bunch of old flat videos on there Im just too lazy to put into skybox for example. If I want more storage, its like $25 for 150tb, and it has an expiration date. July? The 30tb I dont think has an expiration date, havent hear of one

Picouser It is fine for me. Early adopters always pays extra and 25 $ for 150GB is not way too much for me

Thats fair, just keep in mind its going to slow down innovation and expansion of the service for everyone, which includes you, if they only tailor it to a narrow group for starters. Same reason your iphone doesn't cost $20k like it otherwise would. The BYOJ stuff, especially to make it function well and be allover the place, it just going to take all that much longer

Picouser Yesterday I got an e mail from SLR

Yeah I got the same one. Its confusing cause Ive been on these forums for months with this subject and they kept changing things, continue to change things, and really it revolves around milking the people in front of the line until they come out with "the plan." I expect things in that email will change over the next 2 months again.

Picouser Every 25 credit bundle now comes with 100GB extra."

Its an informal bundle. You can pay per credit, or you can buy a pack of credits. The 25 credit pack comes with 100gb (now 150tb... for now....). If you buy two packs, you get 50 credits and 300tb, if that makes sense. Again, the tb space used to be a lot they were gonna offer, now its way low and they were talking about maybe unlimited credits... now its enough for 12 movies? It was going to be a monthly thing. Not anymore. Theres talk of a "real plan" soon, but thats about as up in the air as the talk up to this point as features they were promoting that all changed. Lets hope every video you upload is a winner or you are wasting credits. I tried to communicate this with some other users, but if you think of it, how often do you start a video you think is going to do it for you and it just falls flat, terrible acting, bad angles etc. Same thing can be true when you take a "good video" and make it passthrough and script, You realize it just doesnt work like you thought it would. Now thats 2 wasted credit. You only have 11 more videos to mess with before you gotta drop the cost of a monthly SLR subscription. Thats what people are comparing too. Its expensive in that way. Its just enough storage space to upload a few 4k videos and render them with passthrough and scripts, just a holding space for those videos. Thats all the sotrage is for.

We are still in the "beta" phase for SLR drive. You can buy credits, experiment, and share your feedback. Using the data from the "beta" phase, we will determine reasonable tariffs and drive sizes to propose. We will continue developing and improving the core features of the SLR drive and make updates available as soon as it's ready. Meanwhile, we are working on a new site: https://new.sexlikereal.com, where storage tariffs and extra features (like BJOY) will be continuously added.

Freddie We are still in the "beta" phase for SLR drive.

I understand that. Everything begins with an idea and evolves after that. Still you can't hide behind "beta" phase and let user and potential customers to be confused.

Maybe SLR should clarify what this small print means: * 150GB of complimentary storage expires Jul 12, 2025?
First I read that the "beta offer" ends then but I think it does not mean that. Do I lose everything I have uploaded to the drive after that and do I have to pay more to save my uploads? Does my drive size go to 150 GB -> 30 GB without paying more or is the 150 GB level my new limit? Is it more like deadline to SLR to figure out proper fee for drive or what? Is there some monthly payment or how is this going to work?

Please, be clear and give us all the information SLR has so far.

                    Picouser

We have updated the SLR drive several times, ensuring that all user content was preserved, even during significant architectural and infrastructure changes. This reflects our commitment to safeguarding your data.

The message, "150GB of complimentary storage expires on July 12, 2025," indicates that we intend to introduce regular plans and tariffs when related functionality will be implemented on new site, approximately in July. While I cannot confirm the details on future pricing at this time, I can assure you that we will not delete your content without prior notice. You will have sufficient time to review the plans and decide whether they meet your needs.

Not sure if its just me, but it seems that Drive is having trouble keeping HEVC encoded 6k files in sync for PT/video (specifically anything from VRBangers). I have multiple files that have this issue, but am noticing that older 5k files from that studio are fine.
