Hey guys, we're talking about 2 different things here now, one where we have low framerates and the other where the DeoVR app becomes unusable after a while. For non-Quest devices, the team is currently working on understanding what is happening from the logs we received from some users, so we expect a fix once they get to the bottom of this, as for Quest 2 devices having issues with the low framerate, I suggest performing the following:

  • remove the DeoVR app from your headset
  • clear app cache and data from the headset
  • restart the headset
  • download and install the DeoVR app
  • if the app opens, type www.sexlikereal.com in the address bar of the app
  • try to log in with your SLR credentials

Also worth mentioning is if you haven't opened up a support ticket, please do so by following this link.

Thanks again for your cooperation on this, we really appreciate it!

Signed up just to mention I also have the issues with deovr as mentioned by others after the update.
Using a HP Reverb G2 though.
The experience is like pre installed h265 codec

It is hard to imagine the dev can’t replicate the issues without a users log. We all seem to suffer.
I agree we would benefit from being set back to pre update.

It takes too long to receive a solution. Although all meant well, the communication is lacking the support a customer requires to feel comfortable, especially after 1 month of malfunctioning.

[deleted] I would really appreciate a direct answer to has your team looked into the deovr update in early december where these issues started immediately after i updated that last update? I'd like to test out the version prior to that.

ThorOfAsgard deovr is getting through significant code upgrade. You can expect more stable releases and things being fixed from the past

ThorOfAsgard Like @doublevr said, the app is going through a major code overhaul. The problem with them issue you're experiencing is that is not easy to replicate at all, which is why any sort of logs would help the team understand what is happening here.

As I previously asked, if you can provide us with the logs from your headset after the issue happened, that would be amazing. Some users already sent over them and the team found them quite useful.

As for providing the previous version of the app, I'm afraid that this is not doable at the moment but I will check with the team and put this as a potential feature request.

Also if doable, can you all check if you maybe changed the Sharpness setting values from 0 to any other number? Changing this number can cause a significant drop in FPS performance. So make sure to change this setting shown in the screenshot below back to 0.

Let me know if this helped any of the affected with the FPS issue.

Just got my 4070 Ti Super (upgraded from 1080 Ti) and there is no real change in deovr. Playing 8k videos locally in heresphere is so much better though.

      4 days later

ThorOfAsgard Hey, not sure but you somehow skipped the last post about sharpness and other settings. Can you please confirm if these settings are default or not? If they are not, do they significantly impact the performance? Also, without providing us with any sort of logs from your device it's very hard to pinpoint the issue.

Do I understand it right SLR considers the problems with deovr after the update are local? Or does SLR agree the problems in deovr are functional and caused by the update?

      Thanks for clarifying in advance.

Thoughts Hey, we don't have the right answer for this at the moment, as we still need the data to understand from where these issues are coming from. We only received a couple of logs from the user but that still isn't enough to pinpoint the issue.

          @[deleted] My 2 cents:

From my testing the DeoVR starts to be completely laggy about 4"30 to 5 minutes after it is launched.
Even if you don't play any video, just stay on the app "start page" and it becomes laggy after that period.
Stopping and relaunching the DeoVR app has no effect.
I have to stop the Oculus app, restart it then relaunch the DeoVR app, which will work for another 5 minutes before becoming unusable again (hovering the menu items or the video previews is laggy and show some kind of artifacts/pixels, moving my head around everything moves in a choppy way like when having very low fps, same when playing any video in any resolution).

Using a Rift S, RTX 2080 Ti, Intel Core i9-9900K, 32Go of RAM, Oculus app v60.0.0.162.352, DeoVR app 13.14.1, Windows 11
Was using the DeoVR app for months without such issue until a few weeks.
Other apps launched from the Oculus app are working as expected.
          Will send you my logs.

RD3ZEN Awesome, appreciate that context and we'll be waiting for the logs. I'll update the team in the meantime!

[deleted] But has your team tried a version prior to early december? Thats where the issue started so certainly that must help pinpoint the issue?

ThorOfAsgard As @[deleted] said, the team is working on pinpointing the issue. Unfortunately, I cannot share more information at this point.

Until the root cause of the problem is identified and a new version with a fix is provided, I downloaded and installed an older version of DeoVR as a workaround.
I've used Oculus downgrader and installed DeoVR 13.12.2.1 from November 14, 2023 and it works (no more lag).
There are probably more recent versions that works too but as I was unsure in which version the problem started exactly I prefered to get back from a few versions.

RD3ZEN I've passed the logs you sent me over, and also passed this comment as well, I really hope that this will help us get to the bottom of this! We will update this thread as soon as we have any new information though!

Hi guys, one more suggestion, try to install the latest Lav filters, this might be able to help with freezes and lagging.

@Kieshi Thank you, it seems to fix the issue for me 🎉
I updated LAVFilters to v0.78 and after running DeoVR 13.14.1 for about 15min I got no lag so far \o/
Will try again in the coming days but sounds promising!
Hope it will work for others too.

Kieshi I tried 0.78 and it didnt help. Most others seem to be saying their problem is it gets laggy after 15 minutes. For me for about a month after this started in early december after deovrs last update (i still dont understand why we cant try the previous version, it seems so obvious) it played very slowly, but then it changed and it does that but it also pixelates every few seconds. Its not the GPU as i said before i had a 1080 ti and then i upgraded to a 4070 ti super and the issue is the same on both.
