Do we really need OnlyFans Content?

Marge1994 What kills me is they expect people to pay $30 for a single video, and then when it gets posted to another site and everybody sees it and you realize it's typically amateur quality because they don't know wtf they're doing or they film with their dumbass boyfriend who's either too dumb to know what he's doing either or he's so into himself that he's somehow become the center of attention. I'd swear some of these OF guys are only with these women in these videos so they can jerk off to watching themselves later and to the knowledge other people had to watch them. There's an irrefutable level of narcissism from these guys in maybe the majority of OF porn. So not only are these women not making reasonably priced videos, they're not even making quality videos you can overpay for. They've essentially taken themselves out of the quality porn game.

BungaBunga This also encroaches on another point that nobody wants to talk about, but this fake relationship shit that OF models encourage is really begging for trouble. These fake relationships encourage real emotions from some guys and that can become real dangerous, real fast. Parasocial relationships are not healthy, especially in the conext of sexual relationships. Fortunately that danger hasn't become as prevalent as it inevitably will yet, but if OF keeps getting bigger and bigger and keeps drawing in more guys including those borderline guys who with enough direct engagement start getting stalkerish, then yeah, the "news story" shit's gonna become a lot more common. Those creeps that otherwise keep to themselves because no one engages with them are suddenly being engaged with on a level they probably have never felt in their life and that's dangerous. As OF gets bigger, things are going to worse in terms of safety before it ever gets better. I don't think most of the OF models realize that yet as they film from their bedroom and effectively doxx themselves once a dangerous and motivated individual takes notice.

OF sucks for the consumer and is also a ton riskier for a bunch of naive women ill-equipped to handle such dangers.

I echo what BungaBunga said, perfectly summed up my thoughts on this interesting topic. However, I would like to add more thoughts. I also agree with some of what has been said in the other posts too.

My personal preference is crystal clear to me. I mentioned in another thread that all I have been watching for a very long time is VR porn only. Traditional porn doesn't satisfy me anymore, and OF content in general never attracted me. Specifically, I'm into to what people mostly call "Vanilla porn" which I believe is the most popular category. I tried different extreme things out of curiosity, but quickly abstained from watching them when I felt that I start becoming cold-hearted and it started affecting me irl.

When it comes to fan sites, it's six of one, half a dozen of the other, two ways. From the perspective of the content creators, OF may be better because they have more control and potentially higher pay. From the perspective of consumers, porn companies may be better because they offer a wider range of a better content at a lower cost. However, it's important for both adult content creators and consumers to respect each other's choices and not expect more than what they can afford/give. Frankly, it's a matter of personal preference and what works best for you. This takes me to the next point.

When I read Aidra Fox's tweet Marge1994, I found it both striking and provocative. I assume she wasn't at her best state of mind when she posted it, which may have led to her deleting it. However, I believe it was an honest expression of her feelings. In my opinion, I think that pornstars can avoid getting annoyed by certain fans by being clear about their boundaries and preferences in their profiles. Such as specifying 'OF only,' 'GG only,' 'Solo only,' etc. Unfortunately, many choose to keep it ambiguous in order to maximize their follower count because they're afraid of their 'the target audience' might get narrowed, which can lead to frustration on both sides. In contrast, if pornstars don't want to limit themselves and their specialties, they can't really get upset when fans ask for something that they don't offer.

personally im not going to pay crazy amounts for selfies and other low effort, low quality content that these girls self-produce and put on their own websites or onlyfans. mainstream porn sites are higher quality, better produced, better value and have more variety.

That is a really interesting topic! I have been thinking about this for a long time.

I am only subscribed to VR porn sites such as SLR, VRBangers, POVR and from time to time Naughty America (just for VR since they cast girls that I like). Since trying VR I really don't "need" mainstream porn sites anymore other then maybe rarely pornhub once a month.
Therefore I think with my subscription I pay a lot of money for porn already.

I also use Onlyfans and subscribe to some girls from time to time for different reasons. I am absolutely willing to support my favorite porn girls to a certain degree.
My reasons for OF are, that some girls just do OF today like Riley Reid, Mia Malkova and so on. So I at least buy a scene if they are not ridiculously overpriced. I'm not saying that the work of the girls isn't worth the money, but from a consumer point of view scenes for $25+ are just to expensive when I can get a monthly subscription for a website.

Although OF may be better for the performer, I think as a consumer the platform is bad. The Website is slow and has a horrible layout, overpriced scenes which are hard to find afterwards, The player sucks. And in my exüperience so many girls obviously use bots or other people answering their inbox and constantly ask for more money and tips, even if you just complent on their work or just bought a scene.

Since OF or fansites are here to stay, I just wish these performers would still shoot VR porn with other websites, since OF can't offer that.
I understand that they want to own their content and enough people are paying for it, so i doubt the landscape will change. I hope VR gets even more successful so sites like SLR can grow and offer a great alternative to attract OF performers more

Marge1994 For those who claim that certain content is only available on OnlyFans due to restrictions imposed on mainstream companies, please enlighten us with an example or two.

As an example, in the early days of Onlyfans, before they started restricting everything, Jynx Maze started a page so she could put up crazy content that she liked to do but couldn’t do on mainstream sites. She put up one scene where she was blowing Mike Adriano until throwing up a ton of solid chunky puke all over him. He then fucked her ass until she shit on his dick and she then put the dirty dick straight in her mouth. Now obviously that scene is not to everyone’s taste but it’s an example. Onlyfans would never allow that now but there will be fan sites that do.

The aforementioned incest storyline scenes are also out there whether you think it’s right or not. Not actual incest obviously, just porn people acting, but acting as if they are actually related, not stepfamily. Again Onlyfans are just now starting to clamp down on this but other sites allow it.

You see other more harmless stuff out there though which is just fetishes that aren’t mainstream like girls popping balloons or giantism where the girl is a giant and the guy is a tiny little ant-sized dude.

People have all kinds of weird fetishes that turn them on and these girls cater to that, they often enjoy that fetish themselves as Jynx Maze proved with her scene.

I see a lot of models jumping ship to OnlyFans only recently and that is heartbreaking tbh, especially when you see one of your favorite actresses bounces. Back in the day, we used to ride with these ladies for a good ten years or more, watching them go from awkward teens to full-on MILFs. But now, most of them are in and out of the industry in just a couple of years, retiring when they're barely old enough to drink.

I don't know if this gen is getting too soft or these big companies are paying them too well to leave so soon. but something's definitely changed. Never understood how OnlyFans is so popular, they do not even show you what you are paying for before you buy it, it's all hidden away.

Clips4sale and similar sites actually show you what you are paying for with previews although it's on a per video basis.

SLR should consider adding 2 minute free (no login) sample videos for each clip similar to how VRBangers do, it'll likely attract more signups.

BungaBunga Expecting people to support you directly because they are fans is the problem; sure, some will do that, it's what OF is for, but most people may enjoy a particular performer's content but not be fooled into thinking they can somehow have a real, direct relationship with them. That's a way in which OF, and social media more generally, exploits people. The 'if you liked me, you'd support me directly' thing is honestly a little grubby IMHO

onlyfans is pretty regulated

but the girls HAVE more control of their finances...a few are grinding away at 20-35k a month. they can bank content that will be distributed later and effectively take as many vacations/breaks as they need to...and still get paid

not sure their concern is matching technical output quality of large companies, but with large companies, means they are probably making less.

most that i know? have 5 to 40k in equipment...so quality can be good.

Most people subscribe to certain pornstars because they think that the subscription will give them access to actual sexy content which is almost never the case though. With a basic subscription for like 10 to 30 bucks a month you only get access to some pics etc. You want to watch sexy videos? Well, you have to pay extra for every single one of them. But they don't really tell you much about these scenes anyway. You expect preview pics etc? No way, just give them 30 bucks for a 10 minutes amateur clip. No money back of course.

It's incredibly how exploitive and manipulative OF and most pornstars on it are. It's indeed a business for them and they don't give a fuck about you - the loyal fan - at all. I was subscribed to quite a few bigger and smaller stars and it's almost the same everywhere. That's why I left OF alltogether. It's just not worth it. You really don't get much for your money. Disciples of Desire was probably the only noticable exception, but they're actually a production company and not a single pornstar or "content creator".
