  • Okay folks, this is serious - No Alcohol, No drugs, No Nonconsensual

I guess this is the reason why the scene description for Wed's Raw Taboo scene is quite different to what the actual scene contained? If so, weird that the description for Molly Little's scene today is quite "risky"...

bacula8630 This is most likely due to JCB having laxer policies. JCB is probably the operator of Japan's entire card processing network that Visa/MC piggyback off of. See what happened in Russia with Mir after the events from last year began.

[deleted] While I don't have access to SLR user data, back when R18 was still online, someone from my team did monthly reports on their sales and the top-sellers were very vanilla movies. This extended to VR as well. Thus, even if--and only if as this is conjectural--a sizeable percentage of JAV was removed from SLR, it would probably consist of movies that were not even popular to begin with.

doublevr what do you mean by ‘stop words’? Do you mean words that refer to non-consensual sex? A word that rhymes with gape for example?

You say no pee drinking but does that mean no pee in the mouth at all or is it ok if she spits it out?

It’s getting more and more like Onlyfans on here though. It’s a shame how these fucked up right wing zealots running America ruin everyone’s fun in the rest of the World.

The no alcohol thing is just crazy. Every tv show in the world features couples meeting in a bar and going home to have sex, it’s real life. I get that you can’t actually have real alcohol on set and can’t show someone pretending to be drunk but having a prop of something which looks like alcohol which someone takes a sip of shouldn’t be banned by these people surely.

The no guns thing as well. I get why people may be uncomfortable showing someone having sex at gun point but does that mean you can’t do a James Bond parody for example where Bond is captured by a female villain with a gun and the scene eventually progresses into consensual sex?

@doublevr this brings up a few interesting questions. If the data is segregated to regionally appropriate areas (i.e. JAV content with JAV appropriate scenes being hosted in Japan where these genres considered taboo elsewhere are culturally appropriate) would that be sufficient for payment processors that primarily operate in that region? Or because SLR is a global brand it needs to be a superset of all the most stringent rules globally?

Where there is ambiguity there is opportunity. SLR likes to solve problems and push the tech forward (I see it more as a tech company producing content rather than a content company producing tech). Why not create a division to work with all the ISPs and payment processors to agree on a very detailed list of what exactly is and isn’t allowed to standardize for the porn industry, reduce ambiguity, and promote compliance. Be the ISO for porn. Consulting payments and renewals for compliance on every other porn producer to standardize i’d imagine could be highly lucrative. Just a thought.

What I also don’t get is, who is checking on this stuff for the banks/billing providers? There’s an almost infinite number of porn sites. Who has the manpower to watch every second of every porn scene on every site in the world to see if someone swallows a bit of piss or there’s an alcoholic drink in the shot. It’s impossible.

There’s porn sites with the word ‘piss’ in the title of the site. Pissplay.com is pretty much 100% piss drinking scenes and they don’t attempt to hide it. Surely that’s the first site you’d check if you were closing sites down for that?

That’s the thing I’ve never understood, if these are standardised rules for all porn sites that use credit card billing, why is there such inconsistency between what sites are allowed to show?

I will stress, as I’ve said before, that SLR have every right to be as risk averse as they want to be. I get that they can’t afford to lose access to credit card billing and don’t blame them for doing what they’re doing. I’ve just never understood why other sites are able to operate without these restrictions if the credit card companies are so hot on this stuff.

Polar if I have purchased content that potentially falls into a JAV category that could get pulled, do I lose that since there’s no download option?

jaggyg33 all the pay per video are going to stay. We remove non compliant content from public access the moment it's discovered.

          doublevr

          JAV is in trouble

Again ? I mean you already remove a lot of JAV.. ( well some absolutely don't have their place here, i'm ok with that )
What % do you think it will represent this time ? ( I'm still mad to have been robbed by r18.com ... )

I have really a hard time sometime to understand the way of thinking of the card provider.. I know they got pressure by some kind of american extremist group to remove porn at all but seriously...
I mean, did they know that porn is done by actor under contract with scrip to follow... Like every kind of movie.. :/

Polar There was a discussion on the forum recently about "stepfamily" content. Both card networks have an explicit ban on depictions of incest which leads to the "step" modifier being used... liberally. But we also understand that some people are really into daddy or mommy talk without the step modifier being used. That can happen, the scene just needs to be presented as being a sugardaddy or sugarmommy scenario instead.

Does that mean girls can’t say “daddy” in stepdad scenes anymore even after it’s been clearly shown earlier in the scene that it’s a step relationship?

Avakian JAV oftentimes enjoys all the tricky things we have on the list. R18, the international website of DMM got shut for a reason

petermc Does that mean girls can’t say “daddy” in stepdad scenes anymore even after it’s been clearly shown earlier in the scene that it’s a step relationship?

Honestly, the studios should just substitute the word "sir" in there instead. Anyone wanting to fantasize about a daddy kink could, and the folks who don't like that could just imagine the sir means boss or something else.
It seems the payment processors are hung up on the word "dad/daddy", which is stupid but it is what it is, but you could make some pretty intense scenes using the word "sir" instead. Dad/Daddy would be unspoken but implied through context. That would get rid of the stupid "step" talk as well.

BML5768 Sir just doesn’t hit in the same way. It works similarly I suppose in a sub/dom scenario but when you’re wanting to watch incest storylines in porn, it’s not the same.

Avakian My understanding is that the pressure does not come from some religious right anti-porn fundamentalists (those Gilead folks are usually pretty comfortable with violence against women and would probably rather target gay porn) but more likely is the aftermath of some players in the porn industry not paying attention to the content they earn their money with, which was partly abusive and illegal and, most importantly, not acted. Mastercard and Visa cut their services to Pornhub after this was made public in the NY Times in 2020. Many people nowadays just won't accept such things anymore, even if in general they would have a liberal attitude towards porn. And incest is probably illegal in most countries.

As a result, payment providers are extra cautious and will not accept any porn content that is non-consensual or incest-related. It does not matter if this content is just acted, because the card companies for sure will not start evaluating videos or publicly defending the legal content produced by the porn industry.

Not sure though who drew the line between peeing and pee drinking. I am truly glad that peeing is still considered acceptable, because the urge really starts getting unbearable after a while...

doublevr My vision is that pairing VR+haptics makes it so great that you don't really want any crazy shit any more like it is on tubes now.

LOL, no. Crazy shit is the stuff that makes porn interesting in the first place.

America is in decline so most of my money will go towards European studios.

BML5768 studios should just substitute the word "sir"

For the love of god, SLR, please ignore this suggestion. Better doing away with it altogether than have scenes sexualizing the word “sir”

Sperson Your JAV suggestion would require SLR getting a local Japanese biller, but said biller would probably reject the site if the usage is going to be mainly foreign cards because the site would have to comply with global rules. As I noted above, statistically if certain JAV was removed, it will probably be content not many are watching, not the popular releases.

petermc Some billers use global crawlers to locate non-compliant terms plus random compliance checks (logging in, accessing random movies, etc.). You are right that they can't patrol for everything and they don't. A legit site like SLR though will always err on the side of caution to avoid any potential issues rather than keep trying to push the envelope to suddenly discover no processing ability one day.
