Mutiny According to the annual Pornhub Year in Review report, the platform's "transgender" category experienced a huge boost in searches over the past 12 months, growing by over 75%

This means nothing without the base rate, whih was not included. If 10 percent of users search for trans porn, and that increases by 75%, it means that 17.5 percent of people now search for trans porn.

When I signed up SLR Originals produced one video a week. Now its 3-4, soon to be 5 or more according to recent announcements, with one of them (on average) being for a specialty genre. I think that's a very fair balance and I think its absurd that you think it unreasonable that other peoples money goes into producing something they want too.
Also, unless you are a very recent subscriber, SLR had been releasing 2 videos per week. So one a week shouldn't take away anything you signed up for.

If you read the report its not just searches, its one of the top most viewed categories and its rapidly growing.

BML5768 I did read the report. It said it was the 7th most watched category, with no percentage to quantify that.

The rest of my post seems to have gone over your head.

If you read the report its not just searches, its one of the top most viewed categories and its rapidly growing.

If it's one of the most viewed categories, why is it so low in "most searched for terms"

Going by the logic it's probably because straight porn have million of categories while trans is category by itself.

Edit: And i was right, there is hundred categories for straight porn on pornhub, white there is only one category for trans.

LordCrash hey, I’d still take all those cheesy porn staples like poolboy, pizza delivery boy, cable guy etc over the whole fuck your own girlfriend with no story scenes.

mirdumar If it's one of the most viewed categories, why is it so low in "most searched for terms"

From the report... Literally in the first section.

      The Searches that Defined 2022

      1. Gender
The Transgender category grew by +75% to become the 7th most popular category worldwide. Transgender was the #1 most viewed category in Brazil, and 3rd most popular in the United States and Italy.

        BML5768
Take a look on categories on pornhub, there is a hundred categories for straight porn, while there is only one category for trans, so logically even if it's top viewed category, that still means low single digit percentage.

Will65 was SLR not always a Netflix style site with lots of content from other studios? I’ve probably been here for 18 months and it’s always been a site with a huge library of content in that time. I’m guessing that is what most people sign up for (everything under one roof) rather than the very specific thing you mentioned.

As with all things, doing the same type of scenes over and over won’t get you any new subscribers and grow the site. The balance you have to tread is how to attract new people without losing those you already have. If they’re now doing 20 scenes a month, they should be able to mix things up a bit and still release the 3 or 4 scenes a month you want as well as some stuff other people want.

By mix things up though, I don’t mean doing the same vanilla stuff with the same girls just in different formats (passthrough, non-POV). I mean mix up the storylines, mix up the sex acts, mix up the intensity levels, mix up the type of models you shoot with. Let’s have some big tit pornstar types as well as all the flat chested girl next door teen looking models.

doublevr wait so this “landmark production call” consisted of

“are there any ideas about anything we change in order to improve?”

          “No”

“Ok, carry on as you were”

BML5768 you got a source for that "3rd most popular in the united states"? everything I'm seeing in datasets it's far from the third most popular. You actually helped make your data worse by showing this as well, brazil culturally being trans oriented is a skew in the data, and if you remove that single country the trans popularity would dramatically fall in rankings. In most data analytics that entire country would be removed on account of large data bias.

Also an idea, if there are 5 studios, why not make them all different and brand them accordingly.

If Alex Nash is your prestige scenes (as most seem to think) call his scenes SLR Nash. If another is passthrough then call their studio SLR In Your House (or something snappier). You could have an SLR Europe, an SLR Milf, an SLR Anal (you knew it was coming!). Instead of just producing the same stuff across 5 studios, make a conscious decision to produce varied content.

doublevr it’s just the way you said it in your post. That’s what it sounded like!

bobbytables You actually helped make your data worse by showing this as well

That's not my data, lol, its what Pornhub shared in their annual report. Just to clarify, I don't own or run Pornhub and I didn't create that report.

petermc 5 studios, why not make them all different and brand them accordingly

get ready for some intense pushback on that concept. If I could get SLR Multi-Girl/Harem and pay a premium $200/yr knowing I’ll get nothing but one guaranteed Dream Team style scene and three quality bgg or bggg’s every month, and not have to look at all this other stuff believe me I’d do that in a heartbeat — not a second thought. But you have the folks that are interested in lots of variety and all manner of content that will be upset that they now have to pay for all the niches separately. The truth of the matter is someone is always going to find something to bitch about. I’m just hoping the upcoming Sultans Harem nails the genre and I can disappear into that for a couple months and ignore all this other drama filled bullshit.

And this is coming from someone who already paid lifetime. I realize now that the value I got from that one time fee was at its maximum from mid-2021 to mid 2022 once that awful Canon camera came online. Now it is being and seems will be even more diluted by what to me (as someone above put it) is just a bunch of dreck. Is what it is - I’m still pretty happy with the content from that golden period though and continue to revisit it often. The Philip Casting era. I already miss you Philip.

argyle43 I think the idea is to make it easier for SLR subscribers to find what they're looking for, not to separate it out into separate subscriptions. Think CzechVR's Fetish vs Casting vs Intimacy vs Regular scenes. All part of one subscription, but delineated by focus so it's easier to browse your preferences without wading through stuff you weren't interested in.

doublevr yes I see the upcoming queue has finally been filled. MILF’s aren’t my thing but thrilled the harem theme has continued and cannot wait for the younger girls episode we saw pictures from. As for Adria and the following scene, now that’s what I’m talking about 🤩😍

argyle43 I don’t mean you’d have to pay separately. I just mean they’re now at 20 scenes per month for SLRO and maybe more if 5 teams get up and running. I’m just saying, instead of releasing all 20 scenes under one banner (SLRO) you differentiate and give each team their own label within SLRO. Alex Nash would have own line, whoever is going to be on passthrough duty will have their own line. It would all still be under the SLRO umbrella though. You wouldn’t pay extra.
