Definitely putting Passthrough under a separate channel
SLR vision and logic
argyle43 I don’t mean you’d have to pay separately. I just mean they’re now at 20 scenes per month for SLRO and maybe more if 5 teams get up and running. I’m just saying, instead of releasing all 20 scenes under one banner (SLRO) you differentiate and give each team their own label within SLRO. Alex Nash would have own line, whoever is going to be on passthrough duty will have their own line. It would all still be under the SLRO umbrella though. You wouldn’t pay extra.

Mutiny petermc sure that makes sense. I would only ask that the upcoming Originals queue be fixed so it includes everything SLR is releasing. The last two JAV scenes have dropped on the Original schedule but tagging and default filters prevent them from showing up. I happen to like JAV but the off switch keeps triggering so I miss them dropping. There’s only one prominent link to Originals on the front page — why can’t that have scene posters, dates, and channel included in the upcoming queue?
In the past we’ve seen scenes in that queue for weeks and weeks with no committed date. Scenes drop in ahead of it. So when there’s nothing in the queue one hopes the scene they’re most anticipating will suddenly drop, but two Mondays it has been JAV which has a default off-filter attached to the category so it seems nothing dropped. If this queue were consistently kept up to date with scenes that are given a date that is honored, it would go a loooooong way to managing expectations. Of course there will still be those that complain that every scene isn’t matching their tastes, but that is a separate issue.
Mutiny Well, I for one am looking forward to your work.
Like LordCrash said, you can always mix POV & non-POV action. I enjoy watching other people have sex & even being watched by others having sex. Like the Eyes Wide Shut orgy scene where you walk around watching other banging away until you come upon one unoccupied lovely that it's your turn with. Or walk into a club with my partner and she gets stripped and fucked while someone is sitting by me slowly stroking me off but the focus is on the action in front.
Or given your film background you could shoot a (short) film or series in VR with a proper, interesting story line, but with copious amounts of gratuitous nudity and sex. There will be nothing else like it.
It would be a shame if you have 4-5 production teams and they all shot the same thing.

Coming into a room like that in VR would be a dream come true. Like being the freshman who is introduced in this super filthy high society circle in which everybody has sex with everyone and every girl you come by is eager to fuck with you and to please you...
In the ideal setting such an orgy would include some moving-cam aka "walking" sections for the full fantasy. But with modern techniques you could make them easily skippable for those who might get motion sick that way. Damn, how much I'd love such a scene, one big baccanalia feast with lots of men and women fucking around you. The tech is now almost advanced enough to make you really feel like you're there. I can only imagine such an orgy in 10k VR...

Damn, another great suggestion. Sooooo fucking hot... ️
You made great harem scenes but when will we finally get proper orgy scenes @doublevr ?

petermc Yes, SLR was always a Netflix style site with lots of content from other studios. That was not what attracted me (or the others complaining here) to them. Some of the other sites were decent (SexBabesVR, DeepInSexVR), but not enough to join for since their releases were delayed and I could either sub to them or pirate them if I really wanted to. The other studios were not a factor to me because they do the type of porn I DONT like - either gonzo (WankzVR), the same tired scenes repeated endlessly with poor positions (RealJamVR), amatures who really just want to bang models (Tadpole, PerVRt), very old recycled stuff (TMWvr), or shaky cam nonsense filmed with 2 GoPros taped together on a stick (No2StudioVR), etc.
The thing I subbed for was the glory days of SLR Originals, when Alex Nash was shooting almost all of them, and they were masterpieces of immersion-friendly VR - GFE, story driven, top models who knew how to seduce and fuck, perfect lighting and camera placement, etc. This was solidified even more when they hired @RealcumberScripts to provide perfectly matching, handcrafted, frame by frame scenes for use with The Handy. That arrangement was just chef's kiss.
Starting last summer, though, they have moved away from that - hard. Instead of a master director, they have several crews of also-rans filming in warehouses with models who are often out of their depth or poorly coached. Don't get me wrong - there are a few gems here and there, but the consistent quality of the Nash-era is gone. To make matters worse, they seem to be driven to provide less and less with our subscription dollars with each change - fewer Nash-quality SLR Originals, SLR Original releases diluted over several product lines, ever decreasing production values, fewer and fewer downloads allowed, DeoVR getting worse with every iteration, blocking XBVR, blocking Heresphere - the list just goes on and on. Now, apparently, we're going to focus on non-POV, because we just haven't seen it done right. Sigh.
If you all are happy with lots of low-quality porn, have fun. I'm not the only poster noticing the Walmart effect around here. I admit I am a power user and an enthusiast of sorts (I have a Pimax, Oculus Pro, Vive, Handy, spare Handy, SR-6, and have paid thousands of dollars to private scripters), but it seems that the quality, prime-time product I signed up for is being overruled by "volume" and "diversity". Others have suggested that perhaps SLR Originals - Nash-style - should be a seperate studio, dedicated to that type of release and maybe at a premium price. I'd pay it, gladly. No one else is doing VR that well, in my opinion, so there is nowhere else to go for me once it dies. Right now, I am really just staying for the scripts, and mostly only @RealcumberScripts at that. This follows my evolution of interest in this site: I used to check all the new videos daily (until they were mostly crap), then check SLR Originals daily (until they died, too). Now I just check to see what was scripted - but since they seem to be pushing hard for AI-generated scripts, I am sad to say that that probably won't last long either.
Walmart makes a ton of money, but they still sell crap. When Walmart comes to your town, their giant Netflix-style stores with lots of content put the other stores out of business. Once that happens, the only choice you have is crap.
Be careful what you wish for.

I get your complaints, and I also agree with some of them. But unless you are a very new subscriber during the "glory days" of SLR Originals (1-2 years ago, like you mentioned) you were getting 2 videos a week that matched the genre you "signed up for". You are still getting your 2 videos a week in that genre, usually 3 to be fair. Now, if those 2-3 videos a week are no longer meeting your standards of quality due to warehouse locations, poor direction, or whatever that's certainly fair criticism and issue you should bring up.
However, if SLR is now producing 4 videos a week and 1, on average since they bumped up the weekly scene count, of them is Passthrough, non-traditional genre, etc. that really isn't whats diluting the quality of the videos you are getting. That's a quality issue with those 2-3 scenes you should be addressing. The new scenes are in addition to the 2-3 weekly videos that are still being made. Its a separate issue so don't hate on the folks who are asking for a little more variety. There is room on this site for people getting a couple of high quality traditional videos per week and the other genres getting one too.
BML5768 I think you are missing the point and it right in front of you. He is complaining about the warehouse stuff, poor direction and all the other stuff. He is saying this is all happening because they are now focusing on a hundred other things. They stopped making "glory days" videos because they aren't paying any attention to that anymore, They are paying attention to green videos and JAV and EURO teams.
I think with the now announced separation of SLR releases this will become severly better.
Combine that with some predictable release schedule and most issues in terms of organization should be solved.

I don't think that's the issue. They have a separate team for the JAV videos. The Euro scenes are from a separate team. And Nash isn't involved in Trans or anything like that.
Their core US production team isn't producing videos up to some peoples standards anymore due to locations, scripting, directing, etc. That's completely different teams, its not like one team producing good content in one genre is preventing another team from producing good content in theirs too. Its not a zero sum game. All teams are capable of producing great scenes that meet high standards and that should be the goal. The goal shouldn't be to stop making everything outside from one specific genre. That's my point I'm trying to articulate.

The truth lies imho somewhere in between. While what you've said is true for the production team on set it's not entirely true for the inhouse stuff doing the editing and scripting etc. You might have enough people on the field but to me it seems that they don't have enough staff for all the stuff that happens after the actual shoot took place. And that's a real issue if you want to increase production but struggle with staff shortcomings in certain areas. That naturally leads to either some drop in quality or delays or both.

LordCrash
That's fair. I agree with that and I think you're right about editing and scripts.
Still I think the overall long term goal should be for higher quality AND diversity of content. Just scapegoating the 8 scenes that fall outside of the norm (Greenscreen, JAV, Trans) like they are the entirety of the issue is really not accurate, and that's what I originally took issue with. That's such a tiny amount of the production over the last year and really has nothing to do with most of the complaints being leveled against the regular scenes (which were being complained about before any of these new scenes even existed anyways).

BML5768 How about this
4 green video, 3 with girls that have never done a VR video before. Still have never done a VR video that wasn't green. SLR the company booked these girls and decided to boost their green videos popularity by putting these newbies in them. This is a decision that affects me. They chose to spend their money on green over other.
