Sandi_SLR I'd really wish this was true but reality is that it's not only about passthrough but also about positions etc. The latest passthrough scene with Dora only offered positions with you liying on your back.

I don't see how it should make people happy if future scenes with real VR settings were limited to certain positions simply so to that some people could use it with passthrough while liying on their bed.

Like I said before, two different customer bases with different expecations. Apples and oranges.

LordCrash Maybe its not clear, but I was talking about BG removal on "normal" videos, meaning producers havo no need to think how it will look on passthrough, just check what manny_s studio did in recent releases. We will offer the same thing at higher quality alpha (not compilation, just full video). And users will be free to enjoy both options.

It's not tho G, literally I've seen plenty of scenes where I got into doggy positions, standing Mish, faraway Mish, missionaries on a seat where I located the model on my desk chair. Oral on a female at the edge of my bed. All kinds. And with guardian off in q2 it's very simple to relocate the model in your own environment. Like doggystyle I'll move her to the corner of my bed, for sum reason I just like that visual 😏

With regular vrp rarely did I get up for positions, I just watched all positions laying down, but pt gives me a reason to get into positions.

Plus close ups seem more present, the 3d effect works better imo. 🤷‍♂️

Literally I watched one full scene, got into positions, located her in different ares in my room, not lying I needed a shower after 🤦‍♂️😳

Sandi_SLR Stick to it man,many people have misunderstanding towards passthrough function because quest 2 passthrough does not work well or they don't even have access to it .When colorful passthrough get mature and pervasive, they will beg for it like begging scripts.

Humm, it really don't bother me to much, I'm not looking around in my room, I'm focused on the action, my real background environment just happens to be there, and idk bout others but in pt I get a sense like someone there, like if you had your eyes close and someone walks in you sense someone there. Also the upclose like 69, kissing or titties in your face seem more real then regular vr. Like the 3d is enhanced. Idk 🤷‍♂️ but that's what pt does for me and I like it! 😏

Yall do know there's a demand for other vr players to add pass-through options right?

If these players add pt options and it works optimal or just as good as slr pt is now and they have smb support what will keep pt users around still? It Would probably be your actual greenscreen productions, cuz I don't think no vr player pt options will work as good as it does on a actual greenscreen production, it'll work great but I think there will always be small amounts of artifacts and pass-through on hair and eyes. I don't think it'll ever be 100% perfect clean edged on the fly.

But, If it were up to me, I'd put a separate vr studio for green screen productions and preseted pt videos
Also no edited in green background, do it like the space orgasm video how it was a green room, green sheets, also I'd try plain white rooms. And keep doing scenes like yall did that A Private Dance with Kay Lovely, your videos yall produce specifically for pass through is what will keep pt users around, should these other vr players like heresphere and skybox start adding pt options. Or maybe even Meta adds pt options to their home menu. I seen a video sum q2 headsets in other countries had a slider for the pt option. Supposedly was an error. 🤔

Hell, Green screen or not I'm still enjoying using pt options on regular videos. Make your own green screen on the fly in real time.

Vrsumo2017 its really simple. slr's passthrough content is not ready for the masses. there are too many issues that they havent solved. 99% of people currently dont have a headset with passthrough or have passthrough so bad its not worth using (quest 2). the passthrough content is also replacing the few higher quality scenes in the pipeline that more paying customers actually want to see.

Hey everyone, good news, we scheduled this into 13.8 release, so expect it live in the middle of March!

I will follow up with a full guide for other studios, since they can prepare it up front if they choose so.

New era for passthrough is just around the corner 🙂

Sandi_SLR excellent news! for me passthrough is the main drawcard to owning a VR headset.

I don't understand a lot of the tech behind it. But I am excited about new PT content and the prospect of being able to watch my favorite existing non-passthrough scenes with full passthrough functionality and no weird artefacts or invisible hair/eyes or inside the actresses mouth.

I know you guys have been getting some heated backlash from a very vocal minority of posters for daring to experiment and develop this new tech and release the content for users to enjoy in the here and now.

Unfortunately sometimes there are people who can't be pleased. But to add some positivity.. please know that some of us really appreciate what you're doing and can see that by developing PT you're investing in the future success of SLR.

PT is highly likely to be the next big thing with watching porn using a HMD, and you guys are bringing it closer all the time.

Jacksonjdr94 Thank you for encouraging words, knowing what we are doing behind the scenes, I will repeat, what I wrote before, that there will be a point where all videos will be shot normally and have choice of good passthrough experience if one chooses it. No more need for greenscreen in porn production. Then we will look at this period as unnecessary banter and chill.

Always appreciate research and testing to push the limits. I have been personally manually keying my own footage on the greenscreen videos so far with excellent success. Even though my pimax headset does not have passthrough, I am using some old footage from when I still owned a K2 pro and it matches scale perfectly with your scenes. I am able to greenscreen my own custom backgrounds and the resolution is as good as the main video, something I doubt any headset with cameras will be able to match for several more years.

One quick question with this update. Will these changes remove greenscreen moving forward and will these updated scenes still allow us to key out the background on premiere?

metichemsi yes, we are removing the greenscreen and baking it into alpha, so basically we are doing the keying for you. You will be able to assemble the alpha in premiere and use it as matte.

Sandi_SLR Incredible! Dont listen to all the hate regarding passthrough, the problem is that most of them have not even experienced a decent passthrough experience. The passthrough effect on premiere with footage from the same camera and at similar angle is incredible. Now i just wish i would have kept my K2 Pro in order to go out and shoot some more background locations for these videos before i upgraded to the R5C. That or you guys upgrade to the R5 C hahaha
