DeoVR v HereSphere
For anyone comparing Heresphere and DeoVR alignment, we have Roll disabled (named Jaw ) because it breaks the stereo, why it works in HS is because of Autofocus feature (feel free to disable it and try rolling the dome).
I find it way smoother in HS thou and that is certainly something we can better in Deo, also we can remove the vignette, I guess your inner ears are used to rotating worlds by now

Tcboo128 in deo? You can...u gotta set the pitch in player settings...
If that's what you're talking about
Vrsumo2017 yeah that’s what I mean. But can I set it so the right stick is Left/Right for seeking and Up/Down for tilting? That used to be default for me, but I can’t figure out how to get it back to that?
Tcboo128 yeah, it's in the settings and go in player settings, I'd reset to default first, cus your left and right should automatically be for seeking by default...
So, hit reset to default first, then click on pitch in the list and push up on the joystick and then select the green arrow to confirm.
Hey this off topic, but about deo...
On deo.com on my phone there's videos there that not showing up on deovr app, it's quite a few too.
HS was intimidating at first so I avoided it for ages (and the cost is a disincentive).
However, now it's all I use except when browsing DEO to find content for downloading. The main feature for me is the ability to save scenes that were shot poorly (most studios suffer from this). It can even save some 8k scenes that have awful scaling issues. Now, when a scene is good but technically flawed, instead of instant deletion I can maybe get it watchable - mostly this is fixing scale with the combo of zoom and stereo adjustment. But also the image control is excellent, including keyframes for adjusting only parts of a scene. And being able to save a preset then apply to similarly graded scenes by the same studio is a game changer.
Just today I saved "Shower Me With Love" starring Chloe Amour from MilfVR. On DEO it's a disaster, terrible scaling and shit color grading. With HS and some tweaking, it's now almost perfect and becomes an instant classic.
If SLR's competitors were smart they would collaborate and invest in Heresphere, make it free and more intuitive, and promote it as the default option for playing / streaming. However I don't have much faith in the business acumen of some of these studios, they think short term and either don't have the funds or the balls to invest in the best customer experience.
- Autofocus (Experimental) - it works on all videos except flat, 360 and monocular videos
You can enable auto focus inside Autofocus tab in Player Options - Controllers no longer stay visible when they are not used
- B button will now traverse through video history instead of going back to hub
- UI is no longer freezes while using sliders and next video starts to play
Not sure why but for me the 3d effect and scale are much more immersive.
Also scale is easily adjustable and zoom does not warp the picture as much.
In deo vr some scenes you can see the bending on windows and furniture. Sonehow thats not the case in HS.
Maybe im too stupid to set right in deo vr.
Only tried hs yesterday and immediately noticed the difference.
Sad I ant narrow down whats causing this.
Twisted In deo vr some scenes you can see the bending on windows and furniture.
I only noticed that when zooming out to much.
Hs cool, when ever I use it I just use the basic settings, I like the motion option how I can move my head for zooming in, but the other settings like x y in the advanced settings idk what to do with that, am I suppose to mess with that stuff, idk but I just stook to the basic settings option. I haven't used hs in while.
Doe's 6dof thing needs that zooming "motion", idk why it taking them so long to adjust it, is it really that complicated? Idk
One of the main reasons I mostly use HereSphere is the experience is far better streaming downloaded videos off my PC through XBVR. Navigating the menus can be really slow on SLR (guess my 100Mbps is too slow) and occasionally video playback can struggle too, don't have that issue with XBVR. I found XBVR worked far better in HereSphere, and I think it doesn't work at all now in DeoVR? (haven't tried in a long time)

Why I use heresphere and xbvr for local VR videos / scripts 99% of the time (I pretty much only use deovr to stream new releases).
The biggest reason, videos and scripts always work, every time, every heresphere update.
Once you figure out how to use heresphere and xbvr, the days of having problems playing local videos/scripts are gone. Initial setup of xbvr can take a while if you have a lot of videos/scripts (they all need to be assigned/matched), but once you are done the initial stuff, adding the occasional new release/script takes seconds.
I only started using heresphere because deovr kept giving me problems, it still does far too often.
- Deovr features come and go, I setup deovr to work with dlna, then it was removed - I don't care that it was added back as I moved on
- Three spinning wheels way too often considering I have state of the art gigabit internet with 0 issues with any other connected device
- It was nice that deovr finally offered the handy controls inside the interface, but heresphere also now has that
- I hate that deovr auto resumes a script, i.e. pause video, remove headset, adjust something, move headset a little (not even back on sometimes) and script resumes running, heresphere continues pausing when you have paused, and as one would expect plays only when you push play
- Deovr is better at time syncing scripts than heresphere (my guess is you guys calculate the required offset), I seldom need to adjust offset in deovr, in heresphere I almost always need to visit the handy site to get a delay, then adjust heresphere
- Deovr was easy to use and figure out the first time you use it, heresphere was quite complicated to figure out many of the most basic setup and user tasks, but heresphere support does answer questions and eventually you figure it out.
- Deovr takes a long time to load.
- Heresphere seems to have more "often used" controls available on main page.
- In deovr, scripts sometimes keep running when they shouldn't (I have exited the video), scripts sometimes stop (says connection error) and get resent, heresphere has never encountered any of these problems, so I am pretty sure the issue is inside deovr.
Maybe not as important for the average user, but for a scripter heresphere is much better at moving around the timeline than deovr (i.e. I can move to within a second of any point in the video to check some detail in VR headset vs my scripting tool), deovr is very poor at moving the timeline slider around, or at moving start/finish AB markers in tiny increments to get them exactly where you want them.

I agree, and once HS figures out streaming (and figures it out well) it's going to be a no brainer. Deovr has become a pornsite portal like many we have seen in the past (although a very good one if not the best). Whereas, HS is going to be the standard at some point if it doesn't get abandoned and they can figure out streaming well. Also, Deo seems to have a very hard time managing subtitles suitably for this type of content, which are becoming more and more popular in vr. HS does a very good job with that. If I want to scan titles I go with Deovr but if I want to watch one of my favorite videos I go with HS.
For the average user? Yeah I agree, Deo all day long.
The idea I think is that someday VR will be as popular as regular porn and that the interface needs to be seamless and free and easy to use for the purnhub types. People who want to buy a quest and watch porn. That's where the revenue is in this market. But for the more discerning.. HS is the way to go.
Edit: I don't use scripts so I can't comment on those.

IMO HS has the best picture quality. The Sharpen of 2.0 increases sharpness of almost all VR videos. The sharpness of Deo is also good but with current builds somehow my preference will be HS for playing VR videos. Also the ability to play videos from SMB network share is great to play downloaded videos from PC.
The only issue is high cost of HS $30 which I would wait till any sale event around $10.

Hey Friends,
Im looking sooo long for a other app then DEO VR for streaming at most. I look some downloaded videos, but not much. I never was happy with the image quality of deo. I always thought it could be better. When u zoom ore change the viewing position DEO gets blurry for me. In every video i want tweek the camera a bit to my taste and in some clips I zoom in or out. Sorry but in DEO it looks not great. And even the 3D and the deepness are just ok in the app. But I never found a app to stream VR porn good. I bought a lot of apps to see just that they dont stream from web. Even all the VR browser dont made good jobs. Im on a quest 2 and I see some downlodad videos from my pc on virtual desktop. This way I realized what is possible. Virtual Desktop is amazing to me. But I need a good app to stream and tweek some things.
Here are HereSpere come to my rescue. Finally !! After years of DEO ! I just hv use it for some hours but I love this app so far. You hv so much usefuel things. Keybindings, Playlists, Intuitiv zoom and cam tweek ...
But the main reason is the image quality. Finally streaming looks so good as download ... nearby !
Tell me what u want but the immersion with HS is expotential better. And 30€ bugs are fair. And u hv no subscribtion and the dev is working on the app.
Ok DEO is free ... but u get only the free quality. When u dont see a difference u dont need HS. But when u looking for a upgrade ... buy HereSpere VR player ! Its worth every penny.
Sure u hv to learn the app, but for me its so much fun to practice and watch all my videos from the web in good quality. SLR works amazing for me. No comparsion to DEO.
THX guys for the topic !!
