HereSphere has a visual quality far superior to other applications and plays seamlessly on Quest 3 without any lag. But the biggest advantage for me is the controls; holding down the Grip button to rotate the screen and adjust the angle is very convenient and comfortable. Additionally, zooming in and out without distorting the image using the analog stick is very easy, making it very easy to correct models that appear excessively large or scenes that are too close or too far away in some scenes. Also, it's very nice that it automatically saves these adjustments made.

I've just purchased an annual membership for SLR. However, due to my difficulty in getting used to the controls, especially in the DeoVR application, I will continue to use the HereSphere application. Therefore, I will have to download and play the contents compulsorily. Hopefully, someday we can also stream from the HereSphere application.

doublevr I'm still confused by SLR's refusal to partner with Heresphere (without insisting that Heresphere pay SLR). SLR makes most of it's money through selling content and Heresphere makes money by selling it's video player. If there are customers who would be more likely to buy SLR content if they could use Heresphere to view it and there are customers who would be more likely to buy Herepshere if they could view SLR content with it, it seems like a win-win for the two companies to join forces.

I guess if SLR thinks that they somehow lose more from not allowing Heresphere to stream it's content, then a deal wouldn't make sense. But I'm still trying to understand how allowing Heresphere to stream SLR content hurts them. My guess is that it helps them. It certainly helps me, a loyal SLR customer.

Any chance you can allow streaming SLR content through Heresphere for annual members of SLR? My guess is that it wouldn’t affect the bulk of SLR members. Most users would still use DeoVR but it might drive some to get annual SLR memberships. Just a thought.

I imagine the get to harvest and resell some sort of user data when we are forced to use their native app. I havent seen any other explanation from them but thats the only reason I can imagine.

There's the whole business and dev logic in place that has to be respected running such a complicated machine as SLR became. Public forum is not a place to discuss the aspects of it. We might have one on one with developer.

Im not even mad about it making money off user data is a perfectly valid business practice in 2024. I, and clearly some of your other customers, really love heresphere and miss using it to access your content. Why exactly can we no longer do that? from what I've read on herespheres side that change came from SLR?

CraveDastry it was a business decision to discontinue HS for its predatory practices of copying exact same logic from the SLR app and contributing nothing back, but creating his HS proprietary standards. If he knows to contribute back we might get him on.

Otherwise we provided him a ton of support right from the start providing things no one was ever doing and being the first site to integrate.

well I can appreciate that there was some bad blood. I hope you will reconsider that decision as it seems like some of your most loyal (and presumably high paying) customers like myself would gain a lot of value from that integration returning.

As I recall, HS integrated with SLR and not the other way around. The HS developer added support for the format that DeoVR & the SLR app were already using.

Well that's hardly a surprise when you blocked HS from streaming. Most HS users would be downloading on a computer and not even visiting SLR in the HS app.

Hairsational you have it wrong. The dev was in our Slack and was getting enormous custom stuff from our devs to get it launched then turned back "Oh, you have to use my format now like everyone else is using and do this and this", bringing it to reddit and stuff that we aren't suporting likes, scrpts, etc.
Me was like: "Now you smart ass get the fuck out".

I would hope the takeaway here is that a number of your most supportive users (I'm an annual plan member. it sounds like a number of the other people asking for this are as well) really want this integration back.
We have no way of knowing which side is actually more responsible we just want access to the features that heresphere provides that deo does not.

I hope I dont come off as bitchy SLR is the best at what you do as a content producer and aggregator, I just want to use my mouse again lol

CraveDastry I agree. From a customer perspective, I don't why these two can't just get over their differences to benefit their customers. I'm just not sure what Heresphere would want from SLR that would threaten their business because Heresphere isn't a content provider. On the other hand, I could see how Heresphere would not want to provide any intellectual property to SLR because they have DeoVR.

You know how you can make a pc mouse speed slower? having options to set the zoom and dome rotation speed will be great instead of setting it to a speed by default and then you'll have angry customers. Options for speed includes everyone. 🤷‍♂️ set it how you like. 👍🥂

And make it available to use zooming and dome rotation while 6dof is on. 👍

loyal deo users, I switched to herosphere: for one reason: better image quality; and i spent some time to see the difference, as i was attached to deo; but hey it's clear and sharp for me: better image quality, that's what I look for first in a video. Note that I put sharpen at maximum on heresphere (20). On deo if I increase sharpen too much: the image becomes grainy. Sad

Fix the sharpness
Add zooming and dome rotation available while 6dof is on and while its on with pt
Make dome rotation move smoothly like a camera
And hs has a slightly better picture then deo but, kinda hard to compare when I have to turn off one app and turn on another to compare pictures

Hs is great but it's menu, it becomes easier as you keep using it but that menu is what keeps me from not using hs as much as deo.

From what I can see hs does differently
Is I think the 6dof is on but has zooming and dome rotation available while 6dof is on.

Also if you push the joy stick all the way up the zooming speed is slower then deos, and it's dome rotation moves slower and smoother like a camera. And this looks better in pt.

I gave suggestions up there in discussion ☝️ based on using hs for few days.

I don't think it's much to improve, both players are great. 🤷‍♂️

Hs has other features to like tagging videos or something, I think it has other features too but as a vr porn viewer as my self I have no interest in all the other features it offers, pretty sure they're cool and used by others, but I just wanna push play, skip threw scenes, add videos to playlist and toggle pass through. I do that with deo. 👍🥂

doublevr I went from a Pimax (it broke) to a Quest 3 then I just bought another Pimax.
There is a bigger difference in image improvement with the Pimax.
The Pimax doesn't have as good of a image as the Quest but it makes up for it in FOV.
I didn't notice as much of the autofocus working it's magic because the quest has a bigger sweet spot and smaller FOV. So the DEO makes most of the image in good focus. The Pimax as a little sweet spot and big FOV so HereSphere really shines when you look around in this big open world.
On all the edges of any video the image is out of focus with DEO, even if you look at it in the center of the Quest. With HereSphere it is crisp.

If you guys could get the autofocus working well then that would be a big one off the list.
