LordCrash No, it doesn't.

Are you viewing the "original" film file or compressed files? Are you viewing the films over a 6e connection with a fast gaming PC?

Two major features in HereSphere I would like to have in DeoVR:

  1. Autofocus
I don't want to see a Cyclops during kiss scene. Autofocus is probably a good way to solve this issue for existing VR videos. In case of wrong distance prediction, the 3 sub-features probably can help to mitigate.
    1a. Swith ON/OFF autofocus by a button
    1b. Scripted auto focus
    1c. Eye tracking autofocus
(Either by manually turn on during close scene, or pre-scripped to determine the distance, or by eye tracking Quest Pro only)

  2. PC GPU Video enhancement
I have a powerful GPU (Nvidia RTX 4080), and probably video enhancement can be performed on PC side to upscale the video resoluion and improve the quality.

hs allows multiple 2d videos to be played at the same time.

Something i wish they both had is horizontal flip. not sure why its such a hard feature to implement. deo used to have it

a month later

Mouse support, I had not having a cursor I can move around with my mouse in Deovr, its the number thing I miss from heresphere.

why not just solve this issue instantly and re-enable the api so we can use heresphere if we want to?

Just tried Heresphere and I immediately notice the bump in framerates. The same videos plays much smoother, almost as if I had some frame interpolation like on modern TV (that is on my Quest 3) than on DEOVR.
This is true with H264 shitty quality and H265 8K videos.
Why is it so? Why is DeoVR not as smooth as Heresphere? Did I set up something wrong? (that's the native app, not the PC apps). Both are set to 120Hz btw.

alkory deovr is in active development to boost video playback performance

Thumbnail loading was improved recently and pages got faster now.
Optimising shaders and graphics renderer next for better playback.

HereSphere has a visual quality far superior to other applications and plays seamlessly on Quest 3 without any lag. But the biggest advantage for me is the controls; holding down the Grip button to rotate the screen and adjust the angle is very convenient and comfortable. Additionally, zooming in and out without distorting the image using the analog stick is very easy, making it very easy to correct models that appear excessively large or scenes that are too close or too far away in some scenes. Also, it's very nice that it automatically saves these adjustments made.

I've just purchased an annual membership for SLR. However, due to my difficulty in getting used to the controls, especially in the DeoVR application, I will continue to use the HereSphere application. Therefore, I will have to download and play the contents compulsorily. Hopefully, someday we can also stream from the HereSphere application.

alibak_88_002 Hopefully, someday we can also stream from the HereSphere application.

we are open to discuss the deal

alibak_88_002 it's very nice that it automatically saves these adjustments made.

      DeoVR does that too

Any chance you can allow streaming SLR content through Heresphere for annual members of SLR? My guess is that it wouldn’t affect the bulk of SLR members. Most users would still use DeoVR but it might drive some to get annual SLR memberships. Just a thought.

doublevr I'm still confused by SLR's refusal to partner with Heresphere (without insisting that Heresphere pay SLR). SLR makes most of it's money through selling content and Heresphere makes money by selling it's video player. If there are customers who would be more likely to buy SLR content if they could use Heresphere to view it and there are customers who would be more likely to buy Herepshere if they could view SLR content with it, it seems like a win-win for the two companies to join forces.

I guess if SLR thinks that they somehow lose more from not allowing Heresphere to stream it's content, then a deal wouldn't make sense. But I'm still trying to understand how allowing Heresphere to stream SLR content hurts them. My guess is that it helps them. It certainly helps me, a loyal SLR customer.

          doowop

I imagine the get to harvest and resell some sort of user data when we are forced to use their native app. I havent seen any other explanation from them but thats the only reason I can imagine.

CraveDastry you so funny. Just picking the most outrageous explanation that somehow fits your twisted understanding of things.

            Such a BS.

There's the whole business and dev logic in place that has to be respected running such a complicated machine as SLR became. Public forum is not a place to discuss the aspects of it. We might have one on one with developer.

              doublevr

Im not even mad about it making money off user data is a perfectly valid business practice in 2024. I, and clearly some of your other customers, really love heresphere and miss using it to access your content. Why exactly can we no longer do that? from what I've read on herespheres side that change came from SLR?

CraveDastry it was a business decision to discontinue HS for its predatory practices of copying exact same logic from the SLR app and contributing nothing back, but creating his HS proprietary standards. If he knows to contribute back we might get him on.

Otherwise we provided him a ton of support right from the start providing things no one was ever doing and being the first site to integrate.

                  doublevr

well I can appreciate that there was some bad blood. I hope you will reconsider that decision as it seems like some of your most loyal (and presumably high paying) customers like myself would gain a lot of value from that integration returning.

if apple can work with google to enable RCS can SLR and heresphere not find some common ground to increase the satisfaction of their treasured users?

CraveDastry at the moment the dude keeps spreading misinformation on his forums and without ever contacting us directly, even when he was a part of our company Slack. It was always one-sided from him.
