You know how you can make a pc mouse speed slower? having options to set the zoom and dome rotation speed will be great instead of setting it to a speed by default and then you'll have angry customers. Options for speed includes everyone. 🤷‍♂️ set it how you like. 👍🥂

And make it available to use zooming and dome rotation while 6dof is on. 👍

loyal deo users, I switched to herosphere: for one reason: better image quality; and i spent some time to see the difference, as i was attached to deo; but hey it's clear and sharp for me: better image quality, that's what I look for first in a video. Note that I put sharpen at maximum on heresphere (20). On deo if I increase sharpen too much: the image becomes grainy. Sad

    Fix the sharpness
Add zooming and dome rotation available while 6dof is on and while its on with pt
Make dome rotation move smoothly like a camera
And hs has a slightly better picture then deo but, kinda hard to compare when I have to turn off one app and turn on another to compare pictures

Hs is great but it's menu, it becomes easier as you keep using it but that menu is what keeps me from not using hs as much as deo.

From what I can see hs does differently
Is I think the 6dof is on but has zooming and dome rotation available while 6dof is on.

Also if you push the joy stick all the way up the zooming speed is slower then deos, and it's dome rotation moves slower and smoother like a camera. And this looks better in pt.

I gave suggestions up there in discussion ☝️ based on using hs for few days.

I don't think it's much to improve, both players are great. 🤷‍♂️

Hs has other features to like tagging videos or something, I think it has other features too but as a vr porn viewer as my self I have no interest in all the other features it offers, pretty sure they're cool and used by others, but I just wanna push play, skip threw scenes, add videos to playlist and toggle pass through. I do that with deo. 👍🥂

As far as image quality and visual settings; I find that HS does everything better.

However, the pt ai with SLR is a major game changer for Deo. Also, the XBVR api in Heresphere is much better as it allows for more control with navigation, such as searching tags, models and scenes. I've seen in the past that *some SLR staff disprove of downloading and hoarding VR content, however even with a strong internet connection, I've found that local streaming is always superior (again, the AI PT function may change this).

I've been a loyal HS user for years but will gladly admit Deo has made a lot of progress lately and should continue to improve via browser api, image sharpness and clarity, and chroma key masking.

I was using hs with pt and positioning the image in different areas, I move then hold menu to recenter it, I did this a few times and now the image is warped and bubble heads, I clicked on default settings for all image settings, tried holding menu button, exit out then back in and I couldnt get the image to fix correctly, so i shut it off and went back to deo.

The way deo is now is great, it's a simple player for fapping. 👍
The problem I ran into with hs is why 6dof should always be an option, in hs I'm pretty sure the 6dof is on by default and idk if it can be turnt off, I've looked but couldn't find anything that's says turn off 6dof. 🤷‍♂️

And what looks better when 6dof is on is smoother dome rotation and a slower zooming, especially in pt looks and works better. But adding that should be optional for users.

Default player would be deo now, it's great and many enjoy it as their main choice. It should stay as is.

Custom player settings, would be how much speed is on the zoom and dome rotation and Turing on 6dof, maybe these zoom and dome rotation speed settings could be sliders in the 6dof section, every time you turn on 6dof the sliders settings are how you left em or you can default back.

That's really the only thing I see the big difference is, hs has 6dof on by default with smoother or slower zooming and dome rotation on. Deo player you have to turn on 6dof but if you want to use it. It's optional 👍
And it has no zooming or dome rotation available with 6dof. That needs to get added at some point.

Picture wise, I can't see a huge difference, a slight difference, I can't really tell on that, hs a Lil more brightness, I guess. But a real big difference i dont see it. 🤷‍♂️

Think that concludes my Heresphere journey.
    Lol 😆

Anyone know how to fix my warp bubble head problem before I try to reinstall hs?

    alibak_88_002 controls like HereSphere?

Also the controls for moving the image. It's really simple in HS to grab the image and drag it to the correct position, in Deo it seems to want to rotate the image and can be frustrating to move.

Deo and hs controls work the exact same way but mapped differently on the controllers but hs zooming and dome rotation moves a Lil slower, and its available with their 6dof on.

From my experience with hs, that's what I noticed.

      3 months later

Is there FAQ or something documenting all the HS settings?
Trying to make sense of it.

HereSphere extracts manually set hardware lens distance on Quest 3 and puts it into player if you set it to Autodetect. No idea what’s the logic if they do it manually. Probably was intended for headsets that don’t have manual lens offset so you can do it programtically

What resolution does? Can’t see much change changing from default 1.3 to 2.

Changing Level Guide from 0 to 99 - nothing happens

Checked Autofocus distance - irrelevant for most of the objects - far away things are like 60cm while close things shows 90 cm

doublevr I agree with you that many settings are complicated albeit non mandatory but if you tried Heresphere you can't deny, even with default settings, that video performances are much much better than DeoVR (and PlayaVR for that matter) as in, it feels smooth, actual 60 fps (you need to see it to compare, before I thought DeoVR was the smoothest, but it's not). This is the only reason i'm using Heresphere, not too bothered about the visual quality (which is better, but I think less important).
Maybe it's the Unreal Engine that is performing better on Quest 3 than Unity ? I have no idea but I was quite surprised that it was actually possible to render videos faster than it already is in DeoVR.

doublevr Is there FAQ or something documenting all the HS settings?

Sure, right next to the DeoVR settings manual 😜

Did you find the tool tips that will appear when you point on a specific setting with the hand trigger?

alkory there's DeoVR build in the making with a great performance and image quality boost. I can't believe how good things are getting

Still need to be able to adjust the haptics delay with something more like a numpad instead of a slider.

doublevr I think you need some more time with the player if your asking these questions but it's good to see you're checking it out. Let me clarify some:

Lens distance is just used for when things are incorrect in the video but I never had to change it.

Resolution is for super sampling. You either need low quality screens or very high quality video to see a major benefit. On quest it doesn't do a lot above the default unless maybe when the video is particularly well shot or with a very good camera (and in focus, e.g. the one of VR Bangers).

You normally don't override the autofocus distance for regular use (this is an extra option if you want to keep a particular distance in focus which can be useful if your not looking square at the thing you wanna focus on (e.g. a head in the lower periphery of your view)). Having the auto focus on improves perceived video quality somewhat but its mostly important for preventing double vision. This is the main feature missing in DeoVR at the moment imo as that autofocus doesn't work properly still. Also, related to your comment. In my experience the distance is almost always correct too btw except for some distant walls etc. and I've use it A LOT.

I would say check out the sharpness like other people said and also the motion tab (the distance setting). If you put the latter at about 60 cm it will basically mean the stunt cock will stay in place where it's supposed to in passthrough while moving your head which is currently not possible in deo.

I've said this before but I agree with the recent comments. Yes, perceived quality in Heresphere looks better to me and it's probably the most important factor for a player.

          Anyways, hope that helps

thx guys. surprised there's no official tutorial or something as most of these settings aren't obvious at all.

I'm excited with forthcoming DeoVR plans. There will be dynamic projection mesh where you can set an FOV of your choice removing all the legacy static mkx200 and other meshes into Advanced

doublevr thx guys. surprised there's no official tutorial or something as most of these settings aren't obvious at all.

There's a user guide in the app, and like @SchnuppiLilac said, there are explanation tooltips for every setting. DeoVR is perhaps a bit more intuitive overall but it has zero explanation for anything.

doublevr I went from a Pimax (it broke) to a Quest 3 then I just bought another Pimax.
There is a bigger difference in image improvement with the Pimax.
The Pimax doesn't have as good of a image as the Quest but it makes up for it in FOV.
I didn't notice as much of the autofocus working it's magic because the quest has a bigger sweet spot and smaller FOV. So the DEO makes most of the image in good focus. The Pimax as a little sweet spot and big FOV so HereSphere really shines when you look around in this big open world.
On all the edges of any video the image is out of focus with DEO, even if you look at it in the center of the Quest. With HereSphere it is crisp.

If you guys could get the autofocus working well then that would be a big one off the list.
