  • SLR Originals is getting back to 8K Canon production

spacepirate I don’t really stick around long enough to notice! You can literally see pictures on the wall though that convex inwards towards you and, in doggy style, the girls ass is totally misshapen. That’s without even mentioning the whole giant size issue. The owner of VRHush/Fuckpass said months upon months ago that they’d stopped using the Canon 8k for their new US scenes (the Euro crew never used it) but that they had some stuff already in the can to be released. Unless he lied, it’s crazy how much of a backlog of scenes they shot with this that they’re still releasing these botched scenes so many months later. Does no one quality check their own scenes? Surely the issues should’ve been picked up after a few scenes not after 100.

Perfect example for people with advanced degrees who still know pretty much nothing,

New cam alert, sounds pretty good, guy say 8k live streaming

Here's another cam, called calf, guy says no stitching needed and you can edit videos in your vr headset with the app calf, I downloaded it and it's kinda like a vr tiktok πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ it's free on side quest by app lab

Teche looks good but it only does 30fps, and CALF would be almost unusable for VR porn, have you seen the weird artifacts it adds at the top and bottom, it's like a bad AI fill. The footage is ok for subjects not within a few feet from the camera but can you imagine how bad that would look from a POV.
I think its great that more and more companies are putting out new cameras, I love it, but these are just not it. The only real good cameras by these chinese companies are the FMDUO cameras which are insanely expensive but can do 12k in 30fps or 8k in 60fps.
I'm still willing to bet that a few more manufacturers will get in on the action and we might get a better camera in the next year or two.

      Oh. πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

      Still cool looking cams tho.
I'm waiting for these cell phones to be able to film vr 180, that be cool. If it ever happens. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

doublevr Super excited about this. Will you guys be doing a recap or offering more info on what exactly you did to your lens? I'm dying to see a pic of your Frankenstein creation.

Vrsumo2017 Theoretically it should already be possible, we got phones recording in 8k, all we really need is a dual 4k camera setup on a phone and there is no reason why we could not have a phone these days that can at least record close to the Evo levels. Obviously it's a little more complicated than that but it's definitely doable, specially if you offload the conversion to a computer software instead of doing it real-time on the phone. It's just a matter of anyone actually wanting to go that route at this point. We have already had 3D cell phones with 3D screens, so it's not that far of a stretch really.

doublevr I see yall liked the hand tracking gifs..

Did yall just start this slr blog? Cuz I've never seen a blog section, and I can't find how to get there with out clicking on that link you posted. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

If you scroll all the way down on the SLR site you can see the link. It's been around for quite a while now πŸ€“

Will be keeping my fingers crossed that this works. The larger IPD gives me hope that we won’t have the same scaling issues at least. Still I’m not getting too excited until I see it in action.

            doublevr

            Sounds cool!

66mm sounds a little wide. Maybe that was the best IPD given the optics on the Canon RF lens. I’m sure you guys did ample testing. Looking forward to seeing the results.

Could you remind us again when the scene is finally released? So we take a look at the fruits of your labor.

Idk where to ask this, kinda off topic

But quest gonna have an update soon suppose to make it run smoother, vrgamers excited about it. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

            Here's tweet from meta

            Here’s what’s coming in v55, a 🧡

⚑️ Higher clock speeds on Quest 2 & Quest Pro

πŸ“ˆ up to 26% increase in CPU speed for Quest Pro and Quest 2
πŸ“ˆ up to 19% increase in GPU speed for Quest 2
πŸ“ˆ up to 11% increase in GPU speed for Quest Pro

            Gotta go fast πŸƒ

            ...
Does this mean anything for vr videos as well?

Vrsumo2017 its good news but clock speed increases dont come for free. it means higher power consumption and more heat. if using apps or games that give the gpu or cpu workout youll get less use from a single charge and the headset will also run a bit hotter (or louder if they increase fan speed to compensate). they are some pretty big clock speed increases so it could be an intentional ploy to reduce the lifespan of quest 2s so people will upgrade to quest 3 πŸ€”

shouldnt affect vr videos much if all app settings remain the same. if you use the headset in standalone mode it will give some more performance headroom for increasing render resolution and running higher levels of autofocus and sharpening.
