SEEMS like a perfect fit...the phones already have the size and work with multiple lenses....just add add another one 🙂 the one thing i was kinda jazzed about the NEW apple headset. they should kinda want demand to build up with millions of phones making some 3d clips?

the explosion of CAM girls getting into it would be mind numbing

spanker they should kinda want demand to build up with millions of phones making some 3d clips?

It's a no brainer, makes total sense to market a new cell phone as a 360 or 180 camera, I think 180 would be more possible

But I was also wondering, I really didnt understand if their vision pro video recording...recording 2d and 3d, I know I heard them say 3d but I'm wondering if this was 180 vr video or just a 2d but with 3d effect. Idk 🤷‍♂️

But definitely by now cell phones should be capable of 180 video.

think i saw a few infer that it was small window/low resolution

unfortunately....there is NO 500 buck camera avail anymore to get people started

hoping the phones can take up this starter market

doublevr Very nice, you guys def nailed it. When are we going to get the rundown of what you guys did to that lens? I'm dying to see what it looks like and how extensive the process was and if it's something even remotely possible for us to do. Thanks!

doublevr changed the title to SLR Originals is getting back to 8K Canon production .

rogery505 Hey! Regarding focus on the “facesitting” position- we will do better work on the production side. This is not a lens issue. We will ask guys to use focus chart and bigger screens.

We are moving all Originals production to Canon now. Getting final kits dispatched and ready for action. Also StasyQ will be getting a new rig from us.
Recent Canon firmware update should also improve the quality.

Will start releasing 10 bit videos soon. Looks really great on Quest Pro

Hey @doublevr that are great news regarding the Canon VR lens. Will the mod be available for other studios or is it exclusive? I really want to send in our lens so we can produce better content 🙂

        greetings from germany
        the guys from VRpornnow

Really great news. The video quality on the Steamy Goodbye test video looks amazing - can't wait to see more once the new rigs are deployed.

doublevr StacyQ getting on the canon system with the mod is one of the best news. Finally equal exposure on both eyes haha In all seriousness, I am excited about their content getting this huge upgrade, I'm a big fan of their work and models.

It would be wonderful if JackandJill had access to the 8k Canon with the new mod. I get the feeling they're filming on a vuzeXR which is incredibly bad in anything but pure daylight (and they always film indoors). Of any studio I'd think they'd benefit the most, the content is great but the quality is the pits.

doublevr quick question, out of curiosity, does the Canon VR utility software still work with the footage out of the modded lens? I'm sure it will still recognize it, but have you tested if the conversion still to equirectangular still works or do you need to use another software with the modded lens? Thanks

Did any more news or blog post ever come out about the canon mod?

VRSpy is shot on unmodified Canon.

They say the problem is only on the edges

It might work better with equirec in native Canon software, compared to SLR fish eye. Will test it out

Hmm... although converting Canon 190 Fisheye to 180 Equirectangular is only losing 10 degrees FOV, I've rather enjoyed having that little bit of extra FOV that SLRO Fisheye scenes have to offer. Especially since I am generally using my Pimax, every bit counts. But scale and clarity are the most important things, so I suppose that takes precedence if there is no other way to have the best of all worlds.
