Things are changing at SexLikeReal. We have made a great way from affiliate preview site to pay per video, and then to Premium. We introduced sustainable scripting economy enabling creators to sell their scripts and users to enjoy it. Many times during that course people said it's going to be the end of SLR, but here we are doing better than ever hitting record high userbase numbers month after month.

As we are accomplishing our goals there will be less change coming and we expect to introduce even more cool stuff for SLR users.

Those are some major highlights:

  1. SLR Premium and Scripts Premium are our major products. Being short on cash now should not prevent you from enjoying SLR. Just mail support what you can afford today for monthly or annual and we will get you unlimited Premium. We are not serving freeloaders.

  2. While SLR is most invested in unparalleled VR video streaming the downloads are not going anywhere.

  3. DLNA is gone for good. We have got through the point of no return and we don't plan to support 3rd party DLNA services. We found a way to get DLNA back into SLR app for Premium users. We don't expect it back on Deo.

  4. Turning HapticsConnect into Premium users app and deprecating DLNA also plays a major shift to embrace more positive streaming culture (and bringing more social experience) and preventing scripts from pirating.

We are highly invested into haptics. Not only we get more cool videos and scripts, but these are coming faster than ever. One day we expect to have all the videos scripted. You can start uploading your scripts now and get an unlimited Premium.

Soon everyone should be able to submit free scripts for private or for public. Just upload the script for the video and that's it.

More features are coming into Haptics Connect and SLR app. The next thing would be showing script histogram in the SLR app player seek bar, connecting Svakom interactive devices and releasing return to base, pause script and edging mode controls, showing scripts slow/medium/fast intensity in script profile.

We are getting a progress on our own SLR Interactive sex toy providing ultimate ergonomics and connectivity. We are building the whole product team from scratch and would be happy to see you joining us.

We are still improving ScriptsAI for semi-automated script creation and would welcome anyone who wants to join us.

There is a lot of going on. None of that would be possible without you guys and your feedback even if critical. Things come at a cost and I'm glad we have managed to create a sustainable economy to get things moving 👍

kinda getting a little blood flow reading this 🙂

How am I supposed to enjoy my downloaded videos seamlessly without DLNA? I paid a lot for SLR Originals that have to be played in fisheye 200 and the best way to enjoy the videos I paid for is through streaming via DLNA from a hard drive on my computer to my quest 2. I need you to explain how this benefits us the consumers. Because the way it sits now, I can't enjoy what I paid for, and what I love. I love your guys' content and want to be able to enjoy any of the vrporn I purchase at my fingertips without having to pay additional subscription fees (outside of a sitesub to download said content). I cant imagine I'm the only person who uses DLNA to stream their mega library to their quest 2...

ApolloSLR if you've purchased a SLR membership you should have access to the DLNA feature even if your sub expires. If you want to lock it behind an initial pay wall to get subs that's one thing but to lock it behind a continuous pay wall that makes it so you can't enjoy scenes you bought and downloaded at any time is wrong. This hurts the brand you've built and makes users unable to enjoy content they paid for, which also in turn makes me less likely to sub again in the future. If i can watch my SLR scenes as i choose, i will be more likely to think of SLR and check back for new scenes i may like and resub to get them.

Great job! What stage in development are the SLR produced JAV videos? Or when will they be released?

hentfreak77 For me I commonly let kids use my headset for gaming. DeoVR is more of just a media player, whereas for SLR if they ever wanted to look that up they would obviously know it's purpose is for porn.

hentfreak77 you can download your scenes and save to a hard drive and stream those to your headset at anytime regardless if your subscription to SLR is expired or not.
For example: I have over 10TBs of VR porn from all sites on 1 hard drive that's plugged into my laptop. I then use DNLA with a free media server like Plex.tv to access my content I bought. So on my headset I go to DEOvr then click DNLA and I can see my entire library wirelessly in my room. This is called local streaming and allows you to watch 8K quality with no buffering and uses less headset battery which allows for longer sessions.

Skybox now apparently have functionality for 200 degree fisheye videos although I haven’t personally tried it as I’m yet to download any SLR Originals as they’re so easy to stream and I don’t see myself cancelling SLR any time soon.

petermc I have a lifetime sub, and do generally stream. However, sometimes my Internet goes down or sometimes I’m downloading content from NA or CVR or elsewhere. If my download manager is running, trying to access SLR in my headset continually times out and that’s when I switch to DLNA and enjoy something from my library. A lot of the time now that would be a juicy SLRO scene that I’ve downloaded. Porn connoisseurs tend to be porn collectors after all. Sadly when DEO lost DLNA, my SLRO scenes were no longer open as a local streaming option. So yes, I can easily switch over to Skybox and watch an awesome NA scene. It is true that I can fisheye a SLRO 200 deg scene in that player. It’s definitely not as good an experience as in DEO though.

I have no interest installing the SLR app for the reason that was mentioned above. Someone will eventually recognize it as a porn app and that’s a conversation I can do without in my life. So it is my hope that SLR would just return DLNA to DEO as an experimental and unsupported feature. I calmly asked for that several weeks ago when this topic was far more contentious, but it wasn’t very well received then. So, I’ll quietly bring it back up just this one time more and hope it will be reconsidered: Please re-add DLNA as an experimental, unsupported feature in DeoVR player. If for whatever reason this just extends beyond the realm of possibility, oh well, first world problems.

argyle43 sorry, I wasn’t trying to tell you to just stream stuff. Was just explaining why I haven’t tried the new Skybox 200 degree functionality yet. If it doesn’t work so well, like you say, then that sucks for those who do watch a lot of downloaded SLR stuff like yourself.

petermc oh no. I actually only meant to answer you about the Skybox playback for 200 deg, but then I got long winded about it as I tend to do, and started directing my points to the SLR team.

            4 months later

Just wondering if there are still plans to add support for the SVAKOM devices? Unfortunately, I can't even do the workaround since I don't have a VR capable pc 🙁

Does someone mind a quick ELI5 for DLNA and its usefulness? Not familiar with what it functionally means

bamjus dlna is tech that lets you easily share media content like photos, music and videos between devices. the most common use for it is sharing content from a computer to a tv.

in a vr context you can use it to share videos that are stored on some other device with your vr headset. its great for people who download vids instead of streaming them over the internet. standalone headsets like the quest dont have much internal storage so its best to store downloaded vids on a computer. with dlna you can create a library of vids on your computer that can be streamed to your headset.

its a bit less convenient that streaming over the internet but its the best way to watch because vids load quicker and you can watch the highest quality versions your internet connection might not be capable of streaming.

spacepirate oh wow. understood. does it run funscripts as well? thanks so much for taking the time to write out an explanation!
