I totally agree with you — ever since SLR started adding 2D content, high-quality VR scenes get pushed down way too quickly. When you open the homepage now, it's mostly flat, low-effort videos. SLR seems to be focusing more on flat content instead of investing in the growth of an immersive platform, which is what most users actually come here for — VR, not 2D porn.

On top of that, 2D scenes are paid from the same pool as VR scenes, which really hurts VR creators. It limits our ability to grow and innovate, and we've seen a noticeable drop in our earnings over the past few months. I actually brought this up with them some time ago, and the response I got was very similar to the one you posted — basically no real action. It really feels like SLR has shifted away from quality and is now just chasing quantity.

I also fully agree that we should have the option to decide whether or not we want our scenes to be included in lifetime subscriptions. And honestly, SLR should either create a separate platform for 2D content or pay significantly less for flat videos compared to VR. A great example is FapHouse — they have separate subscriptions for VR and flat content, which makes much more sense for both the creators and the users.

Just my opinion but flat 2d is not going to bring anybody to a VR site. Why would it? It's free on over the internet. @KinkyGirlsBerlin I tried to voice this back in the beginning of all this flat stuff. I got the same response as you.
It's obvious that only people that are on here for VR already are going to be the only ones watching the flat videos.
I tried to tell SLR that they need to focus on making the best videos possible if they want to bring more people to SLR. There are tons of people that watch VR on other sites. Those are the people they should be going for.
You might just be the first to leave before more.
I want great VR content not 15 year old 2d porn. If I wanted 2d porn then I will look it up for free anytime I want it but I don't want it. And I don't want any of my money that I paid to a VR site to be given to 2d.

This sucks for you guys and us the consumers. But I'm not surprised at all. I have to say the us the consumers also seem to not matter.

Good Luck

rerun119 Just my opinion but flat 2d is not going to bring anybody to a VR site. Why would it? It's free on over the internet.

That's false. People watch 2D porn, if SLR has 2D porn and they hear about it, some will come check it out. It's still very early days and not a ton of it yet, but give it time and you'll see

I understand SLR adding 2D porn in order to bring in new customers but the way they went about it is very confusing and improper

A simple example, I get alerts that my favourite models have uploaded new scenes, but it's in 2D - I don't care for 2D, I thought I blocked it all..

Another example, the trans section of the website is segregated (which is what 2D should have been) and not working properly, now it is overrun by 2D videos and there is no way to filter it out due to it being a half-broken segregated part of the website https://www.sexlikereal.com/trans?sort=most_recent

The biggest trans VR studios left SLR recently out of frustration due to SLR's complete and utter lack of interest in supporting the content and making it findable (and not segregated) among other things. The section was on it's last legs and now it's unusable

Another reason for a drop in earnings might be the broken notification system not sending alerts of new scenes when following studios with notifications enabled

Example: 2 new uploads from +33 studio within the past 5 days, no notifications received and the other notifications I have are for 2D scenes..

Regarding lifetime, I don't agree with adding a way to block from viewing clips - I think instead their streaming minutes should be included in the general pool in some fashion to determine payout splits between videos/studios - or is this already the case?

SLR should be more transparent with all of this stuff, they rely on studios uploading content after-all

    Ya'll need to unionise

By the way @KinkyGirlsBerlin I am a fan of your content but with there being so many studios and videos uploaded here on a daily basis it's understandable if 1 video per week is not getting as many views or earnings compared to years previously

I'm not trying to minimise SLR's lack of transparency by saying that

There have been some studios gaming the system by re-uploading their entire catalogue to the frustration of viewers, I think SLR has or is trying to prevent this from happening

A legit way to gain more views is by releasing a second bonus / extended video, VREdging do a "directors cut" that is generally 15+ mins of extra footage/positions - That's 2 videos for 1 filmed scene

Just a thought but maybe an extended unedited long-form blowjob scene could work as a separate release? Perhaps even in the style of VREdging (you can tell i'm a fan of theirs) 😆

I don't know if the women in your videos do their own hair & makeup on set but it could be an idea to film it in an intimate behind-the-scenes format, sort of like a girlfriend getting dressed to go out - maybe even trying on outfits

But anyway I do hope SLR make some changes for the betterment of studios because as it stands things are only getting worse and it's driving both studios and customers away

jommy That's false. People watch 2D porn, if SLR has 2D porn and they hear about it, some will come check it out. It's still very early days and not a ton of it yet, but give it time and you'll see

How do you know that this is false? Maybe a hand full but am not counting 100 people. Do you know some inside numbers that the rest of us don't know"
Even if a small few decide to pay for free porn for some reason. That don't help any of the VR companies. They are going to watch 2d. But now the VR companies have to loss money to the people that are here for VR that happen to watch a couple of 2d videos from time to time.

I will mark this down and give it some time and be looking to see. How long do you figure this will take for us VR guys to see the benefit?
The only people that benefit from 2d being here is the companies that make or have old 2d videos just lying around and SLR. We the VR customer surely do not benefit.

manok87346 I read on many other posts that you CAN actually filter 2D from your timeline. Still not perfect for new releases of an model that turns out to be 2D though - but anyways. Give it a try. I would prefer separate categories though to keep the feed cleaner.

fenderwq Most creators also have no clue - I read about different answers that SLR gave in the past. Watchtime and clicks are important it seems. But also each member is worth a certain amount of money per day (not month but that´s where the money comes from - so a 5 Dollar subscriber is worth less than a full price subscriber and about Lifetime nobody knows or speaks). This daily worth seems to be spread over the content he watches... but if he watches no video on a day - nobody knows what happens to that money - will it be added to the other days? And if so... if a user just watches 1 Video per week will 60% of his monthly fee be given to the creator of this one video? No wayyyyyy.
All we can see is how many views we had, how many hours have been watched and what we get per day. Doing the math the revenue got halved within 2 years. No explanation why. Are our videos less good? Are the viewers paying less or watching more? No idea...

g2kbuffetboy Thanks - I would also not be aware without some background information and my own experiences with other lifetime offers. I have for example an lifetime subscription to a Social media planning tool. Which all the sudden did not work with twitter any more and then got replaced by a BETTER version that I can buy lifetime for just XXX dollar - I could also still use the old version of course... which was deleted another 6 month later. So I learned that lifetime cannot be sustainable for companies that have ongoing costs for hosting, staff etc. as at a certain point lifetime is longer than the money lasts 😉 So there must be something about it to make it worth for SLR - and part COULD be just simply not sharing this money - OR (this is not the case I hope) they push their income numbers and user count with them for an exit...

doublevr That would be sad. People should be able to express their worries (and I do not feel I was overly bad in what and how I said it) without getting negative effects from it. I know that the company SLR is run by people that decide from the guts a lot - but I am not trying to offend somebody personally but help creators to voice their concerns. And I see that at least a dozens of them is not speaking out as the fear exactly this - punishment and loosing income - could happen tells me a lot about their experiences. I was asking around "will you support me?" and they said basically "no, it´s not safe for us" ... well sorry, but if I cannot talk about my situation and how to improve it - why should I share my income almost 50/50 with somebody that does not support me fully?

VRHotwife Same for all the discounts - I understand the market situation - You get 80+% discount everywhere - so if we do not do it, we cannot compete. But that also means that no creator can open his own site. A creator site would have a fraction of the videos as it´s mainly their own. So users expect a fraction of the costs while the creator only can attract a fraction of the users. So in order to make a living the creator HAS to ask what the big websites use as their default price but reduce it for advertisement up to 90% - working only if several hundred people are using it. A really tough situation

imratore WE talked about re-releasing videos with SLR as we wanted our old scenes to be re-coloured (I just learned the proper coloring later) and released again. We where told not to try and we did not as we did not want any trouble. They said they could replace the old scenes but they will not be on page 1 again. So we left them as are and wait for our own site to get the remasters out. Hearing that others did that though is making me shrudd my shoulders and go - ah, well... sticking to the rules sometimes sucks 😉

Hairsational AFAIK the best off stuff and other compilations got to the sandbox quickly where nobody watches them - we do not really want to recut or something - even though some scenes would need it - but recoloring was an idea and possibly upping the resolution for the very first scenes - but nah - explained why we did not do it - it is complicated with SLR sometimes.

petermc WEll - we also wish to know more. I replied to this in other forums... it is not very transparent. We do not know what makes more or less money, we just see that compared to numbers about 1-2 years ago the money per minute or view has halfed aprocimately - and as our success doubled we are at about the same payout now as we are 1-2 years ago despite having added 50+ scenes during this time. We all simply can just guess.

jommy transparency would stop us from guessing and possibly demanding stupid stuff as it is not how we think it is... but for this we would need transparency. And it would be almost half of all my demands.

jommy Nice ideas - thanks for them ... some we also had. WE will find a way. SLR is open for short videos and does not mind advertising our own website once we have it. At least for now. Let´s see what happens once we pulled that off and release shortened videos here while the full videos will be on our website - I fear this is not well received by SLR (and possibly not even the viewers)

KinkyGirlsBerlin seems complicated. You know I don't think lifetime or discounts are the real issue. It's how revenue is shared.

I mean permanent discounts on porn sites are usually the real price and just a way to trick users into making them believe they get a good deal. I did notice the overall discount has become much more significant last year though. Like lifetime becoming only 300. If that is applied almost permanently then that's basically a price decrease
No idea how sustainable all that is, but yeah, lifetime is usually a quick way to get a influx of cash to fuel growth. I think that only works if you grow rapidly though.

But bottom line, imo, It's slrs job to make the model sustainable and if a studio like yours is struggling to make ends meet. Then I think it's not. So hope things get better for you guys.

I understand that lifetime subs can be good for a number of reasons in the case of SLR. It's a way to heavily boost your investment and increase user data in an evolving market. Like it would make no sense for non VR porn studios such as the vixen group to offer lifetime subs right now (unless it'd be very expensive). Hopefully SLR will stop giving the lifetime option in the future when the VR porn market is more mature.

Depending on your contract or whatever settlements there are between third party studios and SLR you obviously get affected by these lifetime subs, if they aren't transparent towards you guys and you are unhappy about your revenue then I guess you can either try to stand on your own, choose competing aggregators, start mitigating the problem on SLR (such as cropping up videos, extended releases and such), or like you do now, discuss it openly and maybe we the customers also get our voice heard.

For me as a user I get no added value when LethalHardcoreVR add a second version of their 2 months old scene (be it a 5 min extended version or other cuts, I don't care), I also get no added value when RealHotVR remove their scenes just to rerelease them a month later as "higher resolution" (well we know SLR's own opinion is about remastered videos). Deepinsex's constant double releases, perVRt's 5 scenes of one shooting... At the same time I have no problem with these studios doing this, UNLESS it negatively affects stuff that gives me value on the site, studios that try to push the tech forward and that try to vary their scenes, for example KinkyGirlsBerlin.

I hope that SLR can address this and find a way to benefit the customers and satisfy the studios at the same time.

I don't know what to say to all this; except that communication is important and that it would be detrimental for everyone to censor what you say when there is no reason to do so (it's not insulting etc.); and that your site: I find it great, and that it would be a shame to no longer see it (but hey I'll manage to pay elsewhere if necessary); and that I am a lifetime subscriber: but also a lifetime subscriber to wanks, virtual taboo, vrporn (that I do it for practical reasons and not for economy: it would be more profitable for me to pay monthly for all these sites - except slr: because you can only download 30 videos per month); and that I subscribe to other sites for a month when the lifetime subscription is not possible. In any case I say it again, I love your site and your actresses..For the converted 2D videos, I'm not interested for the moment because we can't download them (they are then in 2D), but I would be ready to pay more if we could download them in transformed 3D (and with a number of downloads that would be in addition to the 30 maximum)

These are some very interesting answers - like kind of all different but also some common sense. I see that there are many different opinions and also people do not seem to care a lot about the same things I do. But yes, a studio like us - two enthusiasts that do not have to make a living from it by now - can cut the production costs as much as we want ... the scenes no longer make the money back on SLR alone (which was the case once). All we can do is produce cheaper, release on more platforms, try to get external traffic going by advertising etc. But as long as our releases are on page 3 and beyond after just a few hours - it´s impossibe. Other studios get featured - we don´t. No idea whos ass to kiss to get some promo going 😉 And I am not really eager to find out.

KinkyGirlsBerlin yes, let's start doing stupid things just because you aren't happy with how much you are making the days. I understand that you’re frustrated, but the way you’re expressing it—provoking fans and creators—is not acceptable and crosses a line personally and professionally. This is your final and only warning. Any further inflammatory or disrespectful posts will result in an immediate ban and account termination. We expect all discussions on this forum to remain respectful, even when there’s disagreement.

            Now to your points:

            1. Economy is what it is. Everyone would be better off having 10x bigger economy, but attacking others or the platform won’t help it grow. We have created a leveled playing field to get the best content the most of earnings. No one can blame us for not being fair.
            2. SLR is at the forefront of growing economy with PT, Scripts, AI and innovative user experience. There's no better way to boost economy than creating a value and we are the most invested into it. Discounts and lifetime memberships are proven acquisition strategies, not random devaluation. They grow the user base, which translates into more Premium viewers and ultimately more revenue for creators.
            3. Flat isn’t replacing VR—it’s expanding the top of the funnel. It’s about attracting new users who aren’t yet familiar with VR, engaging them, and eventually converting them to VR content consumers. This ultimately means more eyes, more Premium subscribers, and more opportunities for everyone involved—especially VR creators. Flat videos currently take a minimal share of Premium budget. We let users decide what to watch offering a solid content proposition. It's actively evolving along with the platform evolution.
            4. The initial integration of flat content into the main feed is currently causing some disruption and will be fixed soon. We can keep discussing it https://forum.sexlikereal.com/d/8264-slr-flat-to-vr-immersive-stereo-60fps-optimised-screen-sex-toy-scripts

            The conversation must remain professional.
