Below you can see an example of how fucking pointless the pro gallery can be.
This is a gawdam alpha passthrough scene--there's no fucking gym, this is pure bullshit.

And what the hell is this? This clearly indicates that the scene is non-POV or mixed POV, right? Why else include it?

Then there's the video preview which is like a quick cut nightmare-in-a-bubble.

It's bad enough trying to wade through all the amateur and toon cgi trash that I have zero interest in and now they remove the one feature that I use to gauge if a scene is worth downloading. My sub is up for renewal in a few months, looks like I'll be moving on.

jdogfunk100 There is no way this feature gets less than 150 visits a day. I personally use it 15 to 20 times a day (for 15-20 videos). Based on the above comments, your metrics are off.

I use it multiple times a day as well. It is an extremely useful feature.

  1. Convenient for timestamps
  2. Great for camera position and angle references
  3. Important for source file metadata
  4. Extremely vital to see when a revision has been posted (there is a "RC" in the filename on contact sheet when this occurs)

I hope it comes back.

Is this why none of the videos are showing the preview when hoving over it? Why get rid of that? It was so helpful.

RIP, it uses such a tiny amount of compute resources to generate thumbnails for VR videos and they are indeed very useful - no BS unlike cover artwork

Whew... Glad these are being fixed. You guys would be foolish to remove this feature. Glancing at a contact sheet can save us tons of time, and you tons of bandwidth.

slrUser I think he was referring to the tiny preview vids when you hover over a video and not contact sheets. As far as I'm aware the contact sheets are gone and not coming back. He explicitly stated near the top of this topic that contact sheets would not be implemented on the new site.

jdogfunk100 It's counter-intuitive to reduce the value of a service. Most companies improve their features, not take them away. It just makes no sense at all. It's just a big 'F-You' to your customers.

Removing useful features and customer value while also increasing prices (pay to download original quality videos..) usually means one of two things..

      Bad finances, cutting costs

Fattening up ready for a sale

      🤷

Yup, loans taken out with ridiculous terms. Not being able to make the vig so they give up points in the business. Their new "partners" flex on them pretty hard so they scramble to both generate quick revenue/reduce costs and to try and find some way out of the situation they got themselves into.

BTW: I have a treatment script for "SLR: Behind the Bros" if anyone is interested.
