You guys make some really bad decisions. I will 100% absolutely cancel my sub over this, unless you continue to provide contact sheets for all past and future videos. Removing features that people use in every interaction with your site is incredibly stupid and will lose you customers. You're not the only player in this game.

You can see the thread where we discussed missing thumbnails in the new web back in January here: https://forum.sexlikereal.com/d/9179-exciting-news-alpha-version-of-the-new-slr-web-is-live/40
but I'll repeat my points here because it applies equally to the old site as well as new.

I use screenshots mosaic constantly. I am forced to use it because cover photos and pro gallery and vid previews dont tell nearly half the story of whats in the scene. I look at screenshots mosaic to understand the extent of my preferred positions, to understand what the scenes contains in action, to see the camera placements from a VR perspective, to check video duration, to see codec specifics of the base version of the video, and to see how the models actual look on camera. Sometimes the cover and preview photos are so misleading, I'm forced to look at the mosaic to tell whether the scene is actually alpha PT or not.

The pro photos do not give a good indication of what the scene actually includes...especially from a VR perspective. Plus they are cherry-picked to inspire viewing without consideration of what the bulk of the scene actually includes. The video previews are misleading as fuck in many cases and, specifically for me, are blocked from playing because of my browser security settings (what the fuck cross-site and/or streaming codec settings are you using that is so easily blocked by basic browser security settings anyway?).

If you manage to deliver the information I'm looking for without using screenshot mosiacs, that would be cool. But deprecating them and leaving that gap of info would significantly reduce the usability of the browser website --at least for me.

Below you can see an example of how fucking pointless the pro gallery can be.
This is a gawdam alpha passthrough scene--there's no fucking gym, this is pure bullshit.

And what the hell is this? This clearly indicates that the scene is non-POV or mixed POV, right? Why else include it?

Then there's the video preview which is like a quick cut nightmare-in-a-bubble.

It's bad enough trying to wade through all the amateur and toon cgi trash that I have zero interest in and now they remove the one feature that I use to gauge if a scene is worth downloading. My sub is up for renewal in a few months, looks like I'll be moving on.

jdogfunk100 There is no way this feature gets less than 150 visits a day. I personally use it 15 to 20 times a day (for 15-20 videos). Based on the above comments, your metrics are off.

I use it multiple times a day as well. It is an extremely useful feature.

  1. Convenient for timestamps
  2. Great for camera position and angle references
  3. Important for source file metadata
  4. Extremely vital to see when a revision has been posted (there is a "RC" in the filename on contact sheet when this occurs)

I hope it comes back.

Definitely need to bring contact sheets back, it's the only way to get a good idea of what the scene will entail.

Is this why none of the videos are showing the preview when hoving over it? Why get rid of that? It was so helpful.

RIP, it uses such a tiny amount of compute resources to generate thumbnails for VR videos and they are indeed very useful - no BS unlike cover artwork

It's counter-intuitive to reduce the value of a service. Most companies improve their features, not take them away. It just makes no sense at all. It's just a big 'F-You' to your customers.

Whew... Glad these are being fixed. You guys would be foolish to remove this feature. Glancing at a contact sheet can save us tons of time, and you tons of bandwidth.

slrUser I think he was referring to the tiny preview vids when you hover over a video and not contact sheets. As far as I'm aware the contact sheets are gone and not coming back. He explicitly stated near the top of this topic that contact sheets would not be implemented on the new site.
