So full release won't be out until mid-year now? Or it is coming out sooner?

I'm stalking you and maintain a diary of your every post and edit. lol, jk.
I'm very interested in SLR Drive so I've been following this topic closely. I quoted each change that I saw and posted about it. I'm part of the targeted market for SLR Drive so I thought my opinions about the plans may be useful.

doublevr I'm pushing for "unlimited" credits limited storage, but tech is pushing back. Let's see. It's still being debated.

In what way are they pushing back? The credits are by far the most unpopular and unattractive part of this whole thing for like 9 out of 10 people.

When do we get our two credits? Because today we started a new month. And i still didn't receive two credits. Or how does it work?

Just a guess but the techs are probably very aware of how much it will cost them to process each AI PT and each AI script. Also, storage costs. So when they see "unlimited" they think "$x per use * ∞ uses = $∞".

      Throwing random numbers:

The current 500GB + 20 tokens at $14.99 per month:

      • 1 month of 500 GB storage cost = $2
      • 1 processing of either an AI PT or AI script cost = $.25 * 20 = $5
      • 1 month of overhead (development recoup, upload, etc) cost = $5
      • so 500 GB and 20 tokens costs $2 + 5 + 5 = $12 max
      • Charge $14.99 and come out with a nice 20% profit (minimum).

Change that to unlimited tokens and you likely have more AI processing and more upload churn. So:

      • 1 month of 500 GB storage cost = $2
      • 1 processing of either an AI PT or AI script cost = $.25 * 20-60? = $5-15? average $7.50?
      • 1 month of overhead (development recoup, upload, etc) cost = $5-15? average $7.50?
      • so 500 GB and unlimited tokens costs $2 + 7.50 + 7.50 = $17 average but really $12-32
      • Charge $14.99 and ...hope

Who realistically is going to churn 60 videos a month? Upload time for a single video is pretty long, not many people have time for that. I would think people will keep like 2/3 of their storage as their favorite non-SLR hosted scenes in there and rotate the others. The site still has a ton of non-Drive PT content still as well. Honestly, 20-30 credits is probably fine after the initial month or two. Just hope they at least keep it to 30 to match the storage capacity.

Wondering if downloaded videos from the sites listed below work with Drive - anyone know?

          BadoinkVR
          VRSpy
          VRBangers
          NaughtyAmerica
          Tonight’s Girlfriend

Garyindiana2 The source as such won't matter. It was mentioned that AI PT mask generation is not possible for h264 videos, so PT for older videos not available in h265 won't work. If it's the same for scripts I don't know.

sogman for unlimited you have to have advanced logic to manage extremes. it's a bit tricky with no usage data. we might release credits first before we come up with advanced unlimited logic

there is a huge back-end development involved that also requires legacy architecture change.

Credits didn’t reset at the beginning of the month as promised. Shocker!

Can I send you guys a SLR Drive link to check out why it isn't working for AI passthrough?

It's not CGI, toons or whatever, it's a real person in a bedroom, but the lighting is mostly blue which maybe confuses the AI passthrough?

Oh I could do that is a weekend. You put a bunch in, and let them do their thing, come back later or the next day and and finalize them. You have to remember, just cause you upload a video does not mean its gonna be your cup of tea. So you have to go the the next, or find one you are just in the mood for. I might go through a bunch and just hit the high spots and say nah until I find the one that catches my eye. In other words, I upload 60 bideos but only get off to 5 of them maybe. Thats a bit of an exaggeration but who knows, sometimes you get a bunch of doozies in a row

fuccaneer Not sure why the 500gb is so important. Its not like drive is really going to be long term storage for anyone with big video sizes. Even 50 or 100 gigs would be fine. Just enough to render some videos, wank, and move on. You arent likely to watch a video more than once or twice anyway. And if you are, you come back to it in a month or something and reupload it.

Not sure where they are coming up with the $15 cost anyway or what its really based on. Maybe they dont know either. It was $30 at first for like 2tb... now its $15 for 500bg. I dont understand. Stroage slashed 4x but the cost only halves? I guess it really depends how much people are uploading and using SLR to render with AI, and nobody really knows yet. sounds like doublevr is pressing for unlimited credits, but current idea is like 20 credits or something? Wouldnt it make more sense to have a daily cap rather than a monthly cap? Like 5 or 10 per day or something. Seems like that could solve the credit amount issue by making it daily vs monthly or unlimited

If there's no downloads then the uploaded videos need to stay uploaded to be useful. 50-100 GB isn't going to be enough storage if you're a PT/script crackhead that wants more than one choice of video to wank to. People aren't going to want burn credits by repeatedly uploading their favorite videos either, nor are they going to want to spend all day re-uploading when they could have been stored.

                    [

Hairsational No what Im saying is.... 50 or 100 gigs is fine for 1 day worth of videos. Do you not agree with that? Should give you pleanty of choice for a days worth. Even for me, one of those crackheads you meantion. I dont need 500gigs of storage cause tomorrow Im not going to watch anthing I uploaded today. Does that make sense? And if I dont watch all the 50 or 100 gigs I uploaded today... I will tomorrow. So still problem solved. It makes more sense to have a lower storage cap to keep the cost down, and just have a daily cap on credits vs monthly. You only have to worry about 1 day at a time anyway.

A side note is you are talking like everyone is going to 100% only use drive and its capabilities and just completely stop using SLR uloaded content. Not going to happen, even for you. The honeymoon high wears off quick. Drive is a just a feature of the website, its not taking over the website, and Im sure the developers and all the people involved with getting it up and going know this is a realistic way to look at it.
