• App Hang on Seek

Hi, I love your app and would maybe even consider paying for videos but your application crashes quite frequently, whenever I attempt to seek into a video, if it's anything beyond a minute it will hang.

If I choose to download the video, it will play/seek just fine.

I have tried uninstalling MPC which had the LAV filters included and installing the LAV filters on their own but that has not helped.

I do have an AppHang_SLR.dll/Report.wer if that helps, I would love to invest some more time and money into your application if you could resolve this issue.

      I was originally using the K-Lite Mega Codec pack 13.6.0, this came with 0.70.2 LAV filters, I have switched between just LAV filters and K-Lite Mega Codec pack (uninstall one, install the other) to no avail

        If it helps, if I choose to download the clip I can seek just fine, also if I wait 30 seconds or so I can seek fine for a 2 minute clip, it's like it's filling up a streaming buffer and if I try to seek somewhere before it's cached then the app will crash

          rudolpho454 Hello!

          In our app we are using AVPro plug-in for rendering video.
          For playing stream video on Window it uses internal windows foundation media player.
          The realization is not quite good. For example when we are trying to get percentage of bufferization the whole unity project starts to incredibly lag. (That's why it's on in the app)
          Aswell as some users has completly diffirent problems. Some of them has freezing. Sometimes whole WMF doesn't works. But you are the first with seeking problem.

          We are looking to replace AVPro with some other solution. But unfortunately right now AVPro is one of the best for Unity. So it may take a long time for us to write our own engine on VLC library for example.

          Could you please tell, which Windows version are you using right now? Is it MSDN or some other pack?

          We'll also prepare a test build for user with freezing problem. We'll send you this build aswell.
          Not a big chance that it will help, but at least we'll collect some information for investigation.

          We got PC with Windows 7 Pro and it appears that there are some problems.
          Especially when using H265 codec.

          Could you check if you are using H264 or H265 codec in the app?

          Sorry for late response. To get player working on Windows 7 we have also tried to install diffirent filters.
          They are required for streaming H264 codec on that version of OS. First we have tried LAVFilters. No result.
          Then we have tried K-Lite Codec Pack (Mega build): https://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm
          After installation it's necessary to open codec settings and switch everything to "LAVFilters" and restart PC.
          Only after that streaming videos started to seek properly.

          Could you please try this.
          We'll post a screenshot of detailed codec settings on next week.
