Mskinner32 Think its a simple - Q3S released these days. And suddenly the old headsets are simply not supported by anyone anymore. It doesn't take much intelligence to undestand why and for ))
"Unsupported Format" on all videos
doublevr Please answer this question directly. It will settle a lot of concerns and may help solve the issue.
WHEN NOT LOGGED IN, VR videos still play correctly on older devices, such as Cardboard. These are the 1-2 minute preview videos. This proves that it is not a hardware issue. WHEN LOGGED IN, all the videos produce the error and will not load.
PLEASE APPLY THE SAME SETTINGS TO THE FULL-LENGTH VIDEOS THAT ARE APPLIED TO THE PREVIEW VIDEOS AND THE PROBLEM SHOULD BE SOLVED.
Please provide an explanation if this can be done, and explain why previews work perfectly and why full-length videos do not.
This is the explanation we have all been waiting for and will make the difference between losing thousands or tens-of-thousands of dollars in subscribers. Please address. Thank you.

You guys are smart ️ really appreciate it
The changes were made to members area videos streaming protocols. It's a huge architecture change that can't be reverted.
SLR tech back end is really huge and complex. It's no joke to run the whole thing. I trust our tech team
doublevr Please provide a link to a COMPLETE list of compatible devices following the updates launched this week. Thank you.

pedropaloma Quest 3 and Quest 3s are recomended
Quest 2 Pro and Quest 2, Pico 4 are supported.
Windows headsets are conditionally supported. Steam is known to have preformance issues and is not recomended.
Apple Vision Pro webxr only conditionally supported
The latest deovr version is required.
I don't expect Quest 2 and 2 Pro to be deprecated by Meta any time soon as they share the same architecture as Quest 3
doublevr thank you.
iddqd yes this. I got the same error on my quest 3. Found the release channels in app settings, changed it to the correct one; and have a new player where the masking and quality feels much better.
bootwraps Whilst the WebXR hub is stated to be 'working seamlessly' it is also acknowledged to be currently missing some fundamental features (search function and categories)
The Hub is currently undergoing a major global refactor, and search functionality along with tags will be gradually reintroduced during the next iteration.
We have an article about the headsets we support and recommend for use.

It is not pack of bannanas! VR models are expensive. You can't just break the backward compatibility of a paid product and say - these are your problems, buy a new expensive helmet. My pimax 8kx also doesn't work now, although there is a pimax crystal in your article

they are either blocking the old headsets on purpose (which doesn't make sense) or plain lazy since they obviously could revert the changes in like 30sec of coding. As a coder, i know it would irritate me that some changes I did to my server would kill support with older versions of deovr. I would revert back knowing it's an easy fix and it was working fine before on both versions. I'm surprised their programmer isn't even taking the (30seconds) challenge, which makes me think it's intentional and not laziness.
wenworth Hanlon's Razor: never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by incompetence
Yeaaa, I'm calling BS on this, and will probably spend a few weekends getting to the bottom of it and figuring out an independent solution.
Since it's been reported that the actual video files play fine when downloaded and played directly on the Quest1, the root cause is either a problem in the streaming handshake for both sides to agree on streaming parameters; or the problem is SLR is using a streaming encoding that DeoVR 13 and below cannot support.
This will probably require an at-home solution that will implement a SOCKS5 Proxy (prolly Squid), and a streaming transcoder to convert the incoming stream into a format that can then be consumed by older DeoVR versions.
I've no intention of being force-upgraded to a new headset; and recent VR game titles just aren't interesting enough for me to want to buy into new VR hardware anytime soon.

jaycanjam it's as simple as streaming protocols change that can't be supported by older versions nor there's a way to get a newer version of the app into Meta deprecated headsets.
Protocols update became mission critical at some point. There was no way to support older versions. Tech teams didn’t report to the management an implication of older headsets becoming not operational. Nor there’s an option to revert after transition.

doublevr sorry to insist, and I know you gotta have a PR response, but your explanation doesn't make any sense when the new protocol was indeed working a few days ago on DeoVR 13 too. DeoVR 14 wasn't updated, so you guys intentionally disabled DeoVR13 support when it was working perfectly fine on both DeoVR 13 and 14.
Hire me if you want, i'll add back DeoVR13 support for free if your dev are too lazy (but I don't think you want the DeoVR13/Quest 1 customers anymore sadly).
I think the actual explanation, without all the PR stuff, is that SLR wants people to update to DeoVR14 (for some reason, probably more logs/data measurements). DeoVR13 probably wasn't as drastic and didn't capture the infos they wanted (maybe related to their upcoming fidelity/reward program) and what's the best way to prevent people to rollback to DeoVR13? Forcing them to use DeoVR14. Now I get it alright!

Same Problem for me.
Most videos are not working. Examples:
"Can i Fuck You?"
"Can You Get In Her Good Grace?"
"Dinner Was So Perfect!"
"200th Release Celebration!"
Some are working:
"So New And Innocent!"
"Closer To Me"
"Pornstar XXXperience"
I hope this helps debugging
Pico4 (5.11.2.S)
DeoVR 13.12.2.1
JFYI: If you’re experiencing issues on supported headsets, please make sure to update your app first. The current version on Meta is 14.1.2305.
