fenderwq How do you know that Deepinsex and VRBangers use the same camera as SLR? I feel like Deepinsex scenes look bigger since they went to the 8k camera. I liked the older scenes scaling better.
Even if those studios are using the same camera that doesn't mean that SLR look the same. Look at VRHush and Fuckpass those 2 studios put out giantland videos for years now because of 8k.
If SLR can make the scaling and colors look great then of course keep the camera but how long do you want them to take to figure out how to do it? It's been years now.
If the picture looks great but it looks like everything is distorted and too big then I could care less that the image looks nice.
Plus Manny already said that you can't fix the scaling with PT so what is the point in using it?

    rerun119 your missing the point. I'm saying that it is definitely possible to get both 8k and good scale nowadays. Not that they must stick with the Canon.

    I've always thought that Quest 3 passthrough was not that accurate in terms of real life scale and distance perception. I put a tape measure in front of me and compared real life and passthrough scale / distance, by peering at the tape measure in the gap under the headset compared to with passthrough.

    From this simple test, it looks like the tape measure in PT on Quest 3 appears to be around 10% smaller than real life because it appears to be further from my eyes. So the scale of objects in PT looks accurate to real life but as they appear further away this massively impacts how models appear in PT.

    Is this the same for everyone else?

    If I play the latest AR scene, with passthrough off it's like most other VR scenes, with fairly good scale and distance. With PT on, the guy's dick is suddenly way too close (because my body is further away than real life in PT) - when you adjust distance the model shrinks and then you have to adjust scale and the distortion kicks in etc.

    Is passthrough this inaccurate for you guys? I use prescription lens inserts, which may be a factor.

      vrpicasso I noticed it depends on how far an object is from the camera/quest. As in the closer it is the worse the scale is off. Quest is continuously updating their depth correction algorithms though. If you quickly put on and off the quest and look at your room it's pretty much 1:1 for me. Pretty much everything that is further out than a meter is nearly perfect scale.

        et232man This scene is out now. The image quality is awesome! It's perfect for me and so much better than the EU quality. The scaling in some scenes is off though, but in other's it's right. It seems that when she leans away from the camera, the scaling is too small. Also when she's positioned low, she also seems too small. But in other positions it's fine.

        Oh and the dick is in the right place!! With the EU PT the dick is oftentimes floating around or at least not where my dick is.

        All in all WAY better than the EU PT, so hopefully they can at least learn from Alex Nash. With Alex Nash it seems SLR has found the way up again when it comes to PT quality.

          doublevr yes the new Melody scene is really good. Maybe too many position changes, and standing positions don't work in PT because the guy inevitably moves too much, but a very nice first PT from Mr Nash.

            We are looking for a dedicated alpha passthrought editor to get the best out of masks. I think these can be improved a lot with extra dedication.

Although it's difficult to gauge from a short preview, I can finally see small details like pores in her facial skin, so that's indeed an awesome achievement!! Lack of details was probably my nr 1 issue before, so I'm really happy to see you're making great progress here! Also the scaling does look better to me. I applaud your progress!! Happy to see you got this in time, since Mia Tresji is a damn hot model πŸ™‚ Still have to see the whole video before I can really give a good judgment, but this short clip is very hopeful!

              Does this mean you applied some kind of special processing? If so does that then imply you can also improve the other video's you made?

              Anyway as you can see the improvement is quite big, the right photo has all kinds of details that the left one misses.

                  Manny is there any plan to go back and apply these image improvements to the recent EU PT scenes? If there was any room for a re-do, my vote would be for the Olivia video to be redone. I'm not unhappy with how it is currently, as I think the quality is good and I love Olivia, but if it could be even better I wouldn't mind that at all ... πŸ˜‰ .

                  I think you've said before that the processing pipeline is pretty busy and full with just the upcoming releases? No worries if you can't fit re-dos into the pipeline. But ... just thought I'd ask - have you and the team ever considered shifting workloads to the Cloud, to access as much compute power as you need at any point in time? Such as using Amazon EC2?

                  I was reading the comments, and while most were positive, no one mentioned the warping issue. My confusion is whether it’s due to the player, the Q3 headset, or the actual video. Yall see the warping, right?

                  Since the recent Q3 update, something seems off in DEOVR. The menu appears to be in some kind of circle when moving it up and down. Additionally, when I tilt the view up and down, the image tends to jitter. I've also encountered syncing issues; I had to restart a video because the audio was out of sync. I only started noticing these problems "bugs" after the Q3 update

                  Sometimes I'm looking at vr video and the image looks off, idk if it's the player, the q3 update or the actual content it self. πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

                    I have been having this problem with using steam and DEO. It is now very bad and can't really use it at all.
                    It only starts after I pull up the menu when a video is playing. Once that happens then it never goes away.
                    It's like not enough information is coming from DEO.
                    @Vrsumo2017 how do you make a support ticket? I want to send them a video of what it looks like on my end. How do you film from inside the headset?
