Pt aside, it's definitely worth the upgrade, lenses look way better then q2, no ring glares or sweet spot, lenses bigger, q3 is faster, feels more comfortable in front unlike q2 it's feels heavy, it's worth the upgrade 👍

To abandon SteamVR (PC VR) support is very very big mistake especially in longterm ... Wrong decision ! I am saying this as Quest 3 owner .

boboweb SteamVR is a mess from dev perspective. Also the userbase is declining while Quests are growing fast.

AVP seems another growing market, we better focus on it. Not much to expect from Pico, but it doesn't give us trouble.

Everything else is pretty much dead.

doublevr Please don't stop supporting PCVR. I ALWAYS watch SLR on PC. Mostly on Oculus Native DeoVR. Because I can stack infinite windows of 2d porn while in VR porn. But, sometimes I use SteamVR if I want OVR Toolkit with transparent windows and more, so it's very customizable. Right now, many SteamVR keybindings/controls are not working, and it's really hard to control through UI so I'm wondering if that'll get fixed. But more importantly, please keep maintaining DeoVR/SLR on Oculus PC. I can probably live without SteamVR.

I agree that the quest 3 is the obvious choice for porn at the moment but it's actually really crazy (and a little sad) that the quest 3 is the best option in pretty much any price range right now. However that won't continue forever for the mid / high end price point.

I do think the future for consumer vr is wireless but I also think you will get more pc VR streaming at some point. Maybe something like the deckard or another pc vr headset. Standalone is okay for video but standalone is pretty much useless (imo) for anything else due to the huge performance limitations (excluding maybe the avp).

Anyways, seems like a real shame to neglect steam vr, especially long term

karam123 Google and Samsung will likely bring out a 4k per eye apple vision pro competitor later this year but that will be a lot more expensive than quest 3 though but probably also lot cheaper than AVP. However, if you want a cheap headset a quest 3 is a no brainer.

There were rumours a few months ago that Pico 5 is dead due to the low sales of Pico 4. Looking at the headset popularity data from DeoVR, Pico 4 is approx. on the same level as Q1. In 2024.

justsomedude101 For sure, me too. Especially something with 4k screens, good FOV and good passthrough. Like a real high end device but not from Apple.
