Just checked with dev team and Quest 3 is going to be prioritised in development to focus on all the new features like Build Your Own Journey, Multi user, Mobile app, etc. Apple Vision Pro support is coming soon. There might be no updates coming for Steam headsets as dev costs there are too high and not many users around.

I strongly dislike this decision. My current headset with SteamVR and DeoVR serves me fine. And yet another reminder to never go lifetime sub. Take a lesson here, folks. Preserve your right to vote with your wallet.

@"doublevr"#p76235 Will the new features be compatible with the Quest 2? I still think a majority of users use the Quest 2 (or similar headsets). I plan on waiting for the next quest version (quest pro 2 or quest 4) instead of buying the Quest 3 because I want 4k resolution per eye. Apple Vision Pro has bad compatibility with lots of apps so I'm avoiding it.

@"Vrsumo2017"when they knock off 50-100 bucks, I'll probably think about it. Heard mixed things about the jump in visual quality plus lots of early defective units so I held off.

To abandon SteamVR (PC VR) support is very very big mistake especially in longterm ... Wrong decision ! I am saying this as Quest 3 owner .

There's still Heresphere for SteamVR users ... but it's a bit fiddly imo

fenderwq Google and Samsung will likely bring out a 4k per eye apple vision pro competitor later this year but that will be a lot more expensive than quest 3 though but probably also lot cheaper than AVP.

Man I would love to see some headset competition. Q2 & Q3 have such a monopoly atm.

justsomedude101 For sure, me too. Especially something with 4k screens, good FOV and good passthrough. Like a real high end device but not from Apple.

doublevr Please don't stop supporting PCVR. I ALWAYS watch SLR on PC. Mostly on Oculus Native DeoVR. Because I can stack infinite windows of 2d porn while in VR porn. But, sometimes I use SteamVR if I want OVR Toolkit with transparent windows and more, so it's very customizable. Right now, many SteamVR keybindings/controls are not working, and it's really hard to control through UI so I'm wondering if that'll get fixed. But more importantly, please keep maintaining DeoVR/SLR on Oculus PC. I can probably live without SteamVR.
