  • LifestylesVR channel - CANCELED

doublevr I’ve already told you my position. I don’t think that guy deserves to be anywhere near a porn shoot, period. That’s my opinion, and in the grand scheme of things it doesn’t mean shit, but it won’t stop me from expressing it here.

Here’s the thing though. You’re the one that’s taking the gamble here. How many of your customers are you going to alienate by going forward working with this guy? And how many female performers out there are you going to alienate while you’re at it, because I can already tell you that Alex Coal is now aware of your announcement, as are many others who have accused him of the same. I can well imagine that they’re going to do everything they can to warn girls from working with Jimmy, and it wouldn’t surprise me if SLR, as a company, gets added to that effort. So why would you take this risk?

You say that you’re just making his channel available, but that doesn’t ring true. You’ve never headlined a new channel that way before, and Melody Marks announced the scene on her socials by tagging SLRO. How did she have it in her mind she was putting out an SLR original unless she was told this along the way? Both these things say this is a bigger partnership than you said after the announcement blew up in your face. It’s your company man, but if it were mine I’d be taking a step back and thinking long and hard about whether partnering with a known abuser is the mark of a “wise CEO”.

Vrsumo2017 Idk, this all to crazy for me.

I should've just kept it 🤐 lol 🤦‍♂️

At the heart of the matter, the majority of people here aren't trying to cancel Jimmy (he's already been canceled), nor are we trying to cancel models. You're the first person to start talking about a "no fap" list, which is funny to think about, yes, but not really pertinent to this topic.

The majority of us (as shown directly above) are trying to prevent SLR from making an ill-advised decision by working with someone that has a bad reputation in the industry (fact), has been accused of unethical and predatory actions on set and has been fired (fact), and that can potentially cause outcry within industry talent which could bring countless days of headaches and potential lawsuits if something happens on set and SLR is held responsible, even if just by association (not fact, but a concern).

It's been made clear by @doublevr now, that Jimmy has his own private channel and SLR has nothing to do with it, but of course, many of us were/are not convinced when this topic was initially called "SLR 2024 Plans", Jimmy's announcement was the second bullet point, and Melody Marks posted a picture of her on set for "SLR Originals". This has all been reemphasized again by @doublevr that it is not SLR related, so there's not much else to say on that topic.

Regarding all of this:

doublevr my existential question is why all we people just can't be friends.

Do good things to each other.

Give sincere apologies if something bad happens, learn a lesson from it and move on with our lives

I 100% agree with this kind of mantra. These are good ideas to live by and practice. But Jimmy (by many accounts) did not "do good things to each other" and Jimmy did not "give sincere apologies" as his apology video has been removed and changed into some joke-filled parody video, clearly showing he was not sincere. But if you supporting Jimmy is your way of doing good to others, well I can't argue with it. I can only question.

In the end, it looks like production is underway, and Jimmy will have a platform to share his VR work again. But if shit hits the fan down the road, all I can say is there were many loyal SLR customers on this thread who tried to help steer this ship in a different, safer, and better direction. But it's not our company. People have a right to leave with their money, and not because of "cancel culture", but simply because they don't want to be on this ship any longer.

Vrsumo2017 I think you're asking an important question. How far does it go? Do we boycott anyone who works with him, says nice things about him, or worked with him in the past? That's one of the reasons why I hate cancel culture. After reading the allegations against him, I certainly understand why people don't want him to have a platform, but I guess I'm not ready to threaten canceling my SLR sub over it. Maybe I'm wrong but I'll have to trust the decisions SLR and the female performers make regarding the matter.

g2kbuffetboy "no fap" list, which is funny to think about

Lol, but that's what it has come down to these days, putting others on your "no fap" list. Smh 🤦‍♂️

      Lol 🤣

vrpicasso Exactly that!! I won't cancel my subscription, heck, I even can't becauseI have lifetime 🙂 But even if I could, I wouldn't, that's just the honest truth. My self interest here (having access to the best VR porn site) is just more important to me than cancelling Jimmy is. In that way I'm probably exactly the same as @doublevr so I definitely won't blame him, I'm no better. But I just think myself that even from all ethics aside, it's just a bad business decision and I, as pretty much everybody here, tried to stop @doublevr from making, what's in my opinion, just a bad business decision. But it seems he's not going to change his mind, so oh well. Let's hope we're wrong. The future will tell. But my predictions:

      1) Jimmy won't change! There will be more actresses in the future who will report problems at some point. It's obvious this guy doesn't feel guilty even a little bit.
      2) Several actresses will not work with SLR anymore. I expect that that list won't be limited to the 20 actresses that complained about Jimmy, more will follow suit.
      3) Some customers will cancel, although personally I don't think it will be that many
      4) There will be ongoing backlash for a long time to come. People will comment below every video he posts how big of a scumbag he is. More and more people will find out (most wont even know who Jimmy is right now, but will find out) and backlash will only get more and more intense.
      5) SLR's good name will get damaged to a certain point.

      Let's see if I'm right.

g2kbuffetboy Your points are valid. I definetly respect your thoughts on the matter and you articulate them well. Makes me conclude I should rethink my position. Ughhhh!

g2kbuffetboy At the heart of the matter, the majority of people here aren't trying to cancel Jimmy (he's already been canceled), nor are we trying to cancel models.

Yes, not really about cancelling. It's about SLR customers voicing their concerns about a producer with a bad reputation.

In the business areas I work in, we try to avoid doing business with people and companies with bad reputations, sometimes only because we do not want to our clients to thick we approve or endorse their conduct.

SLR has the $$$ for my lifetime subscription and even if they didn't, I wouldn't threaten to not renew. I love the website. That said, it seems questionable to associate with this person.

I’ve made my opinion clear but I will add this….

On the one hand, I can understand not making a full throated apology because that is an admission of guilt and opens one up to litigation. It’s merely self preservation, and the American legal system can be very cutthroat. If, hypothetically any of us were in a similar situation I’m sure we would seek legal counsel and be walking on eggshells with any statements we put out. On the other hand, what’s been shared of his “apology” and how he presents himself on social media doesn’t exactly paint a very sympathetic picture. At best, he’s incredibly immature and unprofessional in how he presents himself, which doesn’t exactly say much for his potential innocence.

Again, I’m a guy who watches porn….I'm not so invested in any of this that I’d even for a second consider cancelling my account and I think anyone who does so is foolish. There’s far, far more significant causes to fight for in today’s world than this. I barely care, let adults make decisions for themselves and if they think he’s dangerous, by all means don’t work with him. But as others have said, if it was my business, I’d certainly take pause before working with someone who acts this way.

jaggyg33 Just use your @argyle43 account I know who you are, and it's not nice talking in my back. Thank you

doublevr I’m not asking for any of this. I’m just asking SLR to not give him a channel, simple. It’s a bad look. I like SLR. I want it to be a company with a good reputation that models want to shoot for.

In regard to the so-called “canceling” him, is that not what he tried to do to those models that didn’t like the way they were treated? He tried to discredit them and paint them as being hard to work with. He may not have directly said that, but he certainly created an environment where that is what they were afraid of. They were worried of being cancelled from the industry for something that was forced upon them.

So, I don’t want to see a leader in the VR industry making his barrier to reentry into the industry easier. Imo, there is too much risk to your reputation at stake. If he wants back in, let him start from scratch. That’s not canceling him, that’s protecting your brand.

Vrsumo2017 It should ultimately be the model’s choice. So, no, I don’t hold it against them at all.

If a hot model chooses to shoot for him, would I watch it? Yes, honestly, if she was hot AF AND she was comfortable shooting for him knowing who he is.

Here is how I look at it
I read Alex statement back in Wankz days
Alex coal has shot hundreds of scenes with hundreds of directors
As far as I know she has only ever said one director was a piece of shit
That sounds like a credible story from my end
      @doublevr do you believe her?

I never said jail or anything else, Just find a different director
I would think you should be on the pornstars side. It looks like you are on the business and money side.

Cbomb333 That's one of the reasons why I hate cancel culture.

"Cancel culture" is a bullshit term made up by people who don't like accepting consequences for their actions. Don't want to be "cancelled?" Don't be a dirtbag. And if you sincerely make a mistake, learn from it, atone for it, and make amends for it. Calling the company that fired you weak and the talent that you abused whores is NOT any of those things, so he obviously hasn't learned his lesson.

If you had a child or a parent who reported that someone in a position of trust abused them in the way that Jimmy abused these actresses, would you want them to not have access to people like your loved ones again, or would you be ranting about "cancel culture"?

Vrsumo2017 While you do raise a good point, i feel like the situation just can't be looked at the same way. The girls who still choose to work with him aren't in a position of power and they aren't abusing anyone, they are either girls that are ok with a rando director getting handsy with them or maybe they have bills to pay and they can't afford to say no to the job even if it's with a risky director.

I read some people say how about second chances and something about people learning from their mistakes.

That sounds reasonable, where do I read the apology?

I assume it says something like "I'm very sorry the Alex felt the way she did. I never meant to hurt her in any way. I admit I have gotten handzey from time to time. There is no place for overstepping the bounds without consent, even on a porn set. I have truly learned from my mistakes and will never do something like that again. My deepest apologies."

I'm not a very good writer so I figure his reads a little better than that.

Can someone please upload his apologie.

Vrsumo2017 I know a lot are huge fans of melody marks, she's obviously supporting him and working with him, so do this mean she goes on their no fap list, is she canceled, are they gonna go to these hotties that film with him and say they no longer support them.

I mean also like a lot of his content he's worked on is all over the place, povr, vrporn and slr, I mean shouldn't a sub cancelation happened already but a cancelation is gonna happen now cus he's getting a channel to upload more content.

          Idk, I don't get it. I mean
If you're really against this guys existences in the porn industry shouldn't you really be boycotting or canceling subs to any site that carries any of his content old or new.

And how yall know he hasn't filmed for any other vr studio since leaving wankz, most studios don't even mention directors names.

That post is full of dumb or uninformed takes.

          1) Girls have no reason to be "cancelled" when Jimmy is the predator. Girls who don't have a problem working with Jimmy right now may ultimately learn the hard way when Jimmy inevitably attempts some sleezy shit that crosses the line, as Alex Coal and the other victims already found out.

          2) The fact that Jimmy's content is on multiple sites means absolutely nothing. All his VR content was produced under contract for Wankz and he isn't profiting off that content now. Cancelling a sub to one of the sites that host his historical content does nothing to prevent him from preying on girls in future.

          3) Jimmy hasn't worked for anyone other than Wankz. His original VR content has only been produced for WankzVR and sister sites.

Hairsational Girls have no reason to be "cancelled"

OK so that's a no for you, no girls will be going on your no fap list if they work with the guy.
            Got it. 👍

Imo these girls are not stupid, I'm pretty sure most these hotties who been in the industry long enough know about this situation.

Anyways, I'm out of this convo already, it puts a damper on my vr experience, 😕
Plus I was just asking a question, if these hotties male or female work with Jimmy and even tho they do know the situation, and maybe the booking agency books them with Jimmy, I'm pretty sure they're aware too, will they be going on yalls no fap list.

            So far it's a no. 🤷‍♂️
