Vrsumo2017 Idk, this all to crazy for me.
I should've just kept it 🤐 lol 🤦♂️
At the heart of the matter, the majority of people here aren't trying to cancel Jimmy (he's already been canceled), nor are we trying to cancel models. You're the first person to start talking about a "no fap" list, which is funny to think about, yes, but not really pertinent to this topic.
The majority of us (as shown directly above) are trying to prevent SLR from making an ill-advised decision by working with someone that has a bad reputation in the industry (fact), has been accused of unethical and predatory actions on set and has been fired (fact), and that can potentially cause outcry within industry talent which could bring countless days of headaches and potential lawsuits if something happens on set and SLR is held responsible, even if just by association (not fact, but a concern).
It's been made clear by @doublevr now, that Jimmy has his own private channel and SLR has nothing to do with it, but of course, many of us were/are not convinced when this topic was initially called "SLR 2024 Plans", Jimmy's announcement was the second bullet point, and Melody Marks posted a picture of her on set for "SLR Originals". This has all been reemphasized again by @doublevr that it is not SLR related, so there's not much else to say on that topic.
Regarding all of this:
doublevr my existential question is why all we people just can't be friends.
Do good things to each other.
Give sincere apologies if something bad happens, learn a lesson from it and move on with our lives
I 100% agree with this kind of mantra. These are good ideas to live by and practice. But Jimmy (by many accounts) did not "do good things to each other" and Jimmy did not "give sincere apologies" as his apology video has been removed and changed into some joke-filled parody video, clearly showing he was not sincere. But if you supporting Jimmy is your way of doing good to others, well I can't argue with it. I can only question.
In the end, it looks like production is underway, and Jimmy will have a platform to share his VR work again. But if shit hits the fan down the road, all I can say is there were many loyal SLR customers on this thread who tried to help steer this ship in a different, safer, and better direction. But it's not our company. People have a right to leave with their money, and not because of "cancel culture", but simply because they don't want to be on this ship any longer.
