I am hating this passthrough stuff. It is as far from immersive as anything could be. Why? Because the hardware isn’t ready for it. So essentially these are beta testing scenes while SLR gets ready for whatever generation of affordable headset can actually play them in a manner that convinces us she’s really there. The tech is so far from that right now, yet this crap continues to pollute the stream.

I didn’t agree to pay SLR to be a beta tester. These scenes do not belong in the release schedule. They should be extras up in the sandbox where interested parties can play with them all they want and provide feedback to further the ongoing development.

I also resent like hell that anticipated talent we can’t find anywhere else get put into these tests and experiments. WTF is that about? It’s happened twice now 😡

      LordCrash I think it's more about selling the illusion that this is something that's happening to you and not a video your watching. Getting your own body and room helps to sell that.

                  argyle43 Well I have a Pico 4 so it's color and acceptable. I also think it is still pretty gimmicky but there is definitely a future in this passthrough thing imo.
                  Also, saying that vr is already immersive just doesn't make sense. Wouldn't it be more immersive if you could feel, smell or touch the girl? Similarly having your own body and room is simply a good way to trick your brain. If this was perfect I think you wouldn't even argue with this.
                  Now am I all for passthrough? Not really, I usually watch content with my 8kx. But hey, variety is the spice of life and I love the prospect of pushing VR into next levels of immersion.

                            I know that AR and passthrough are about you being real you in the scene. That's what I actually explained in my post. That's the whole issue indeed since I don't necessarily desire to be real me in a porn scene, I want to be somebody else. But not watching somebody else, BE somebody else. You know, like role-playing, you get into a role, another character, an alter ego. That's what VR is all about for me and that's the difference to AR which does everything to convince you that stuff happens in your real world to yourself as your real self while VR is about fantasies that could happen to whomever you'd wanna be in a fantasy world in which everything is possible...

                                I don't know how often it needs to be repeated for everyone to finally understand but passthrough isn't an evolution of VR, it's AR/MR and therefore something entirely else.

                                Passthrough doesn't push VR into anything, it's not even VR in the first place...

                                    I’ll take well-produced former every time. It’s what we were getting here a year ago. Lots of it. Now it’s this larger quantity of lesser. I really hope we revert. Like I said above, that’s the stuff that made this Site of the Year. I seriously doubt what we’ve seen the last few months will get SLR there again.

                                    I’ve got a lifetime sub, so I’m stuck with where things go regardless — all I can do at this point is express my disdain. If I were on an annual or monthly, I’d seriously be reconsidering ending my subscription right now. I wonder how membership looks in six months if things continue this way.

                                          argyle43 I agree with everything you have said. I want to add that they keep scripting the 3 guys one girl or the passthrough stuff instead of the Nash scene 3somes. There are 2 now just waiting to be scripted.

                                          Before an SLR member says they have nothing to do with it. I going to need more than "trust me dude" to convince me that SLR doesn't say "hey why don't you script that new passthrough video next"
                                          The last passthrough video came out with the script so obviously they get the videos ahead of time.

                                              rerun119 I’m not a scripter but I have attempted to do some, it can be draining doing them, I’m thankful for what gets scripted by hand quite honestly compared to the automated stuff that other sites have done, RealCucumber is awesome, I’ve purchased a lot of the scripts he’s made even before he moved to SLR

                                                  OpeningThng19 I love RealCucumber's scripts. I'm just frustrated with SLR pushing all this passthrough sh*t. That is not what I signed up for. So when I see that it is getting all the attention including scripts, it seems further and further from 2021 good videos.
                                                  I sign on to see what is new that I can watch. First look at the new SLR releases. Can't watch that cause I don't even have passthrough. Next cross my fingers that maybe there is a new scripted video. Nope just a new SLR scripted passthrough video.
                                                  If SLR is going to keep making green stuff then my last hope is that a script of something Nash did is done.

                                                    LordCrash seems I did read it somewhat quickly, sorry about that.
                                                    I guess it's a matter of preference though. Some like to roleplayen (like you), some like to sell the illusion off being the guy in the scene as much as possible (the idea of fucking that girl yourself), some like both (like me). Seems like preference to me but I guess that's your point. And yeah fucking hot girls irl is always more fun but not always practical or possible (also, even the best girl won't suck you off for 30min every night and I have yet to meet that guy who has had a mffff+). To be fair though, passthrough being rather gimmicky at the moment, all my favourite scenes are still non passthrough.

                                                    Also, I doubt we will be shooting greenscreens for very long anyways. More likely we will have alpha maps to be able to toggle between passthrough and regular VR and body in body out somewhere in the nearish future.

                                                    Still, I think experimenting with things like passthrough will get us closer to the next level of VR/MR porn in the future and personally I'm always excited to try out new experiences. I see it as part of the puzzle so to speak. Similar to technologies like better haptics, volumetric video, etc. I doubt that we will watch only regular sbs VR porn in 5 years.
