It's too pricey for me for sure, but it will likely boost the VR porn market. Here are my takes:

1) More people using VR headsets means more studios willing to enter the market
Apple has a good track record of turning niche technologies mainstream. Think iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches and even Airpods. Before they brought those products out, smart phones, tablets, smart watches and wireless earphones were not that popular. Nowadays, every second person has one.

More people will have VR headsets, which in turn means more demand for VR porn, which in turn means creates incentive for studios to invest in VR.

2) Passthrough is about to get ridiculously good
From what I've seen, passthrough on the Apple Vision Pro is incredible. Imagine your favourite pornstar seemingly seducing you inside your bedroom, with passthrough video quality that is virtually indistinguishable from real life.

SLR is in a great position to capitalise on this as the leader in VR porn passthrough tech.

3) The Apple Vision Pro's built in 3D camera makes it easy for amateurs to film content
Just like how smartphones allow amateurs to film 2D porn, the widespread adoption of the Apple Vision Pro will allow amateurs to easily record their own content.

    I havent owned an apple product for most of the past decade or so, but Apple is really selling this device to me, a non apple user - even at that price point

    Alot of actual real world user reviews sound amazing and alot of reviews bringing up the words 'magic' and many practical use cases that this may be the headset from the future that we've all been waiting for 🤞 🤞 🤞

    while this headset would make existing VR porn videos look better vs current headsets, people probably shouldnt set their expectations too high. the cameras studios are using are going to be a bottleneck on quality.

      spacepirate Dw they'll offer controllers for purchase separately, I guess will be priced at $299 each.

          [deleted] apparently there are no plans for controllers but the headset does in fact have 2 ir illuminators on the front for hand tracking.. so it will work in low light conditions

            1) Will the top head strap be included?
            2) Will fitting be included, since the face pad will require a face scan, which they say can be done at the iStore...

                    [deleted] Where did you get that information? I did not notice any top head straps so far. Also the thing about a mandatory fitting procedure sounds unlikely. I am pretty sure there will be a standard light seal (they say it 'gently conforms to your face, delivering a precise fit').

                        SchnuppiLilac I remember hearing one reviewer who got to try it say they over heard there might be a top strap available, I'm also hearing the headset was kinda heavy, one reviewer said they used it for an hour and stared to feel the weight on his face. 🤷‍♂️

                        Another reviewer showed off the red familiar face guard imprint on her face.

                            The only downside i found considering the price is the FOV. I expected something like Pimax 8k full human FOV, but ppl who used it said the FOV is more like around 110 degrees, which has been around for quite a while. I mean its still a marvel of tech and i'm sure vrp is gonna be mind blowing on it. But i expected something a bit more revolutionary. If it had 220 degrees FOV i would pay any amount of money they ask.

                              Then they had to add a Lil ass strap cuz users says the shit would slip down even tho was it lite.

                              I been checking out xr elite reviews, kinda not good, sum say facegaurd not comfortable, to small, it squeezes down on the nose, and lens are small. Sum prefer the quest pro over the vive.
                              They do say the pass through pretty clear tho. 🤷‍♂️

                                I don't know. I am rather bored by the videos on Deovr.com and will get motion sick if someone starts walking around exploring. But if the technology should ever reach a point where it genuinely feels like real and is capable of replacing real-life experiences, there will be addicts and it will get dangerous. Like in Avatar, after 16 hours in the link unit: 'Don't make me force-feed a cripple!'.
