I always have to watch with the volume down anyway because of the squealing, but have no preference for subtitles being on or off
Would you like to see subtitles for authentic JAV videos?
Is there an update on any plans for subtitles? It's a great idea to have them.
Subtitles that can be toggled on / off for sure. =] dont hardcode the subs into the vid ^^, the censorship is bad enough in asian porn as is. ;D

Procyon Subtitles that can be toggled on / off for sure.
only if it can be turned off. I don't think I'd wanna see words floating around while I'm in my fap sessions.
Don't really matter to me.
But shouldn't there be subtitles option on all videos, I'm pertty sure there might be sum folks who are hearing-impaired who watch vr porn...its a possibly ...just saying

[deleted] wow that's a huge collection of chinese subtitles
thanks for sharing.
If you guys need help with translations, feel free to hit me up. I am a native Japanese speaker and have done some translations for JAV Subtitled (not my site, they are my client) and a also shared some of my work on Subtitlecat
Here's a sample of my work on Akiba-online too:

I'm broke as fuck, but I'd love to see SLR add translations to the crazy TMAVR videos, like the "measurements" series and the "counting anal wrinkles" series.
It's kinda insane that the videos still aren't downloadable, given the state of R18.
Crazy, niche stuff, I know. But that's why I'm curious.
any news on this?
eos666 Subtitles feature is expected with the next app update or around that. It will work locally. Then will make it work on the server side of things. Potentially we can get some luck with autogenerated subtitles. Should be really good for Japanese which is researched quite well.
@ZENRA still interested creating subtitles?

Auto-generated is fine by me. I have separated the audio of some files and uploaded it to YouTube for auto-generation, but YouTube has implemented copyright protection that doesn't allow that anymore, because it recognizes the music (not the voices).
Your studio files are MKV, so they are ideal for embedded subtitles.
I'd say your best option is autogenerated. It's cheap. Really cheap. Google will do it automatically through Youtube.

[deleted] I think auto-generated subtitles may actually work for VR unlike many 2D JAV movies for these reasons:
- The majority of VR consists of a mute actor and a talking actress.
- Sound quality is quite good (closed set, microphone right by the action).
- Themes generally are simpler lending to potentially more accurate auto-translations.
Conversely, this applies less in 2D JAV. Drama movies may see good results with auto-translation, but the further you go from that, the harder it gets. I can't imagine the output of auto-translation if it's some type of big group movie filmed with one far away microphone and with people talking over each other (think Magic Mirror with multiple (3+) performers). When and where would a new line start if you have overlapping dialog? What if two people sound alike? On-screen captions are another big issue.
Either way, from my experience subtitling well over 1000 movies, I can tell anyone reading the most annoying thing in the world is correcting bad timing. It's pretty much easier to manually re-do a line than trying to fix one. For VR that requires full immersion, you absolutely don't want any mistakes--be it unnatural translations or strange timing. It should be as slick as the subtitles one sees in a major motion picture which thus could make auto-translation less appealing.
I have tested some JAV VRs with Google AI to translate the audio to Japanese text, and DeepL Translator for Japanese text to my native language, and it translates 60 to 70% of the text well.
But I think that there is some kind of censorship, because the "dirty" phrases are almost never translated.

Exactly
- VR audio is high quality (even in JAV)
- Auto-generation is usually fine for time-stamping
- VR tends to be monologue-driven, vs dialogue
How about generating some AI texts for this thread? Love to hear more if you can suggest a non-Google method.
[deleted] Auto-generation may lead to time stamps too short if there are few ways to fiddle with it. Good timing results in captions that begin the moment dialog starts, but end slightly after rather than ending right no the dot as it could make the viewer feel rushed. Users could get turned off if the subtitles are not up to quality and is a reason why I think when it comes to them, a "less is more if less = high quality and more = lots of questionable quality" is the safer option for long-term adoption.
hey , how do I activating the subtitles? , Im using deovr I dont see an option for this
