Again, that's a false dichotomy. There is no reason that both can't be handled with decency. Being negative to people (actresses or customers) is not in any of our best interests long term. Someone acting like an ass does not make other people acting like an ass ok. If you're looking at someone being an asshole and think that makes it ok for you to be an asshole too that's not a good thing. They are both wrong. This is something I learned in 2nd grade.

BML5768 lol maybe you should revisit 2nd grade because that isnt a false dichotomy at all

anyway.. so you agree that telling customers to fuck off is not ok. appreciate your ted talk on socially acceptable patterns of behavior but cant say that i took away anything new. maybe a better target audience would be some 1st graders.

Yes, correct, I believe both are wrong. Being an asshole to customers is wrong, and being an asshole to actresses is wrong. And yes, that is a 1st grader problem. I'm glad you picked up on my logic (You said calling actresses "yuck" and plastic was completely acceptable). Cheers!

BML5768 You said calling actresses "yuck" and plastic was completely acceptable

got a quote to back that up?

spacepirate2 why being a bad boi? Unfortunately there's no way to pm on this engine. Just wanted to ask not to propel your negativity all over the place 👌 especially when it comes to business like in that reddit posting thread.

Let's help each other to make things work.

It's also cool to see SLR becoming more of a fun place lately. Will figure it out.

Will65 Suppressing or ignoring criticism defeats all of that.

no one ignores a thing here. we just want to keep a civil discussion. you can express your frustration without hurting other people.

if we start assaulting each other and people around it's going to get out of hands quickly.

be respectful and say everything you have to say. like this other dude said: I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

Padarak How about you guys implement that at "-5" votes

It's about time we start showing "Comment hidden" message for these 👌

Also adding report button for harassment, spam, etc

doublevr I don’t think that is a great system. Lots of perfectly ok comments get downvoted a bunch. You can post “great scene, I’d love you to get this girl back for an anal scene” and some people will just downvote anything that mentions anal sex. People have said that to me, that they agree with most of my post but that they arbitrarily downvote any comment that asks for anal. A downvote doesn’t necessarily mean something is offensive, just that you disagree with it. Someone could ask for more black male performers and get downvoted by people who don’t want that. People shouldn’t be silenced for having an unpopular opinion. It would also encourage a bit of a gang mentality where groups come together to downvote something en masse so that people are not heard.

I think it would be helpful to have a way to flag offensive/insulting/abusive posts and we then have a moderator to make a decision on that. Doesn’t need to go any further than that.

I literally got banned from commenting for “being vulgar” when i was commenting on the bad sets showing us that we are on a soundstage but used the term “fucking walls” so that was too much for SLR. Absolutely hypocrites

That's a really bad idea since downvotes are completely arbitrary. It would also be tyranny of the majority actually and the opposite of a place that values free speech. Maybe I have a very unique opinion on a certain topic and I voice it in a perfectly respectful way. So I should have every right to post that opinion and everybody else should be able to see it. I don't care about whether it gets 50 downvotes, that might happen to unpopular opinions. But like you said, we should value and defend differing opinions if they are voiced in a respectful manner.

If you start hiding comments based on downvotes you can just close down the whole comment section, it will become completely pointless, a pure echo-chamber of the majority.

LordCrash Yeah, I like the idea of a massively downvoted comment flagging a moderator for manual review (just to streamline the process since they can't be everywhere at once), but it should require human action to make it go away, and that based on community standards, not whether it's just an unpopular opinion.

Mutiny okay this response is hilarious 😆 got to love the sense of humor you got and always on point with the GIFS 👏🏻😎

i’ve been going down the comments and totally forgot what the topic was for a moment after the McDonalds analogy and so on 😭🥹😅
