Timbama First impressions of HS PT:

  • Working out of the box for alpha videos. Main difference to DeoVR I noticed is how both players process the edges of images (i.e. the edges of body parts). Not sure yet if one way is better or worse than the other. DeoVR has like a thin glowing halo on the edges, while HS does not but instead seems to create artifacts on the edges.
  • Chroma key PT: I am lost in space. Maybe the chroma key color selection is only supposed to be used for green screen videos (not tested) but I tried making a regular VR vid into PT (like @Vrsumo2017 does with DeoVR) and that seems to involve endless fiddling with up to 34 individual parameters that you have to type in (no sliders). Didn't even know where to start.

      That's what chroma masking is for, from how I read it. If there's a big part of an image in the same colour (like a green or blue screen as background), it will make those pixels transparent.

          I tried and indeed, chroma key masking seems to work quite well if it's a green screen video.

          After making the green transparent, there remains a thin green line around the edges (which I managed to turn into a white line), so some further adjustments will probably be needed to make it perfect.

            I’m very disappointed with the Hs update because it’s intended only for Greenscreen or blue screen PT videos. So pretty useless when using regular vr vids. It will be good if and when companies start producing more PT but at the moment have to work with like the 10 videos that exist.

              I spent an hour so messing around with all the settings. And you have WAY more control over the PT than with DEO but it can take like over 30 minutes per video to get it right and even then it’s not close to perfect. But until they actually start putting hot chicks in PT, I’ll spend my time figuring it out. It’s worth it because the quality in HS is superior.

              Haven't tried the hs pass-through yet but passthrough for non green screen or alpha scenes is pretty bad anyways.

              filis That looks really promising! I also like the fact that it's a solo video (similar to the video in the pic below) which I think is something SLR should also explore for PT in addition to BG.

              For those who haven't seen it: It's a green screen video with chroma key masking, with settings coming from the hsp file which means it's ready to use without further fiddling.

                  After the DeoVR update today WankzVR web view no longer works... I would search by model or my favorites to find my video then click download to stream it. Now I can't see my favorites or even a search bar, just recent full videos and previews lol wtf. Great update DeoVR😡. BadoinkVR works exactly like it did before so why has Wankz changed. After this I'm really thinking of switching to HS since the only thing keeping me on Deo was pt and its simplicity, but now HS is getting pt. Also DeoVR said there would be the option for 120fps on quest 3 with this update and that's still not an option. Is there any way to natively go back to the previous version?

                        Idk, I tried it but it's to confusing and with no sliders, I have to type in the #s, confusing and kinda frustrating. I just gave up 🤷‍♂️

                        Jumping into pass through with regular vrp videos has to be an easy method, deos pass through is fast and easy to jump in to pt. 👍

                        This hs pt is like rocket science 🤦‍♂️

                            In HS you can adjust values by holding the grip button over the value and using the thumbstick up and down for big steps, and left and right for small steps. Holding the grip button also gives you a tooltip, which could be helpful.

                                PT on regular videos is pretty useless here too, you either end up with furniture and junk all over the place that couldn't be removed or performers with horrifying missing eyes (or both).

                                The dev has been working on a big UI overhaul, but it's not expected for a while.

                                    Vrsumo2017 It automatically detects normal PT videos, not sure what you are talking about. And in the settings, there's a very easy tab to manually turn it on or off with one button.

                                        It varies from video to video, I found many regular videos that have worked really good and sum very close to alpha productions.

                                        Plus im not to picky, if I find me a good laying cg rcg and there's maybe a door in bg or a few pictures on the wall I'm fine with that. But I found plenty of regular vrp that worked good 👍

                                        A lot of deepinsex videos work pretty good with deovr's easy method, there's 2 of them

                                        Thoes are easy methods to help find pt with Deovr pt settings, its fast and gets you there quick, if the video doesn't work well with them easy methods pt #s then it's on to the next one.

                                        I'm sure hs works but trying to get into a pt was confusing and took to long, I never found a good pt hack. 🤦‍♂️

                                        And it has them drip icons to select the color you want to erase but they didn't help the models body skin got transparent and I had a video that had white walls in the back so it should worked good, idk maybe I doing it wrong but still it was confusing. 🤷‍♂️
