On the screnshot it looks like you got rid of the green tint on her skin edges which is absolutely necessary for a convincing VR experience. With something like that it would be watchable again I guess but I had to check it in the headset before making a final assessment.

Another important question for me: Is this stuff in the first opion only supposed to work in Deo or also in other players? I know what you guys think about Heresphere but that's the player I prefer and I doubt that I would use another one for only a few select scenes. So I think I'd always vote for the second option with you guys making a predefined non-passthrough version that works on different players out of the box. Would also be a lot more comfortable for casual usage since you don't have to adjust anything yourself.

        LordCrash You know, in theory it would be possible to produce CGI and stuff that looks good. But for top-class CGI you need both top-class artists who probably either work for Hollywood than for Porn Valley and you need shitloads of cash.
        VR porn in most cases is produced on a tight budget though so that's not really feasible.

        True, they don't even have money for good cosplay costumes or room decoration - so there is no chance to get realistic CGI scenes.

            LordCrash Hey, I am well aware of you criticism of DeoVR as a VR player and the opinion you allude to - I don't share, it's not hard to look at heresphere and see where it excels, but I would give our solution to be more user friendly.
            For second part, I wrote poorly, we are planning to do both options, its not one or the other.

              SLR releases so much original content lately (almost every day you have a new SLR Originals video), yet people are complaining about a few passthrough videos instead of being happy about the other numerous videos.

              @Sandi_SLR I would suggest adding a "Show Passthrough Videos" option like the JAV one in the future... maybe that way people won't complain as much 😛

              People need to realize that this will get better and better the more they create and experience with.
              It can be considered a niche, same as BDSM... not everybody likes BDSM videos, but they don't complain about the releases or ask the studios to stop creating them.

                  rolly Hey, yeah its not that simple, we are adding PT settings also to videos that weren't shoot on greenscreen. But we will add a filter short cut, which they can switch to "Not" if it bothers so much.

                      Agreed. Much cheaper and far less work to just produce a good quality VR scene in an actual premium setting.

It’s one thing if you cast this with a girl who already has a lot of VR under her belt and then those that cannot or choose not to watch have that (as you say) numerous other content to fall back on. Click Katrina Reed’s profile and guess what? There’s one and only one scene, and it’s all covered in green 🤮

                          It's a hardware not a software or even filming issue right now. Shooting videos before a greenscreen is no innovation, has been done 20 years ago already. It's pretty funny that people think shooting before a greenscreen would somehow improve passthrough. Well, it doesn't. So no, these scenes are not shot for innovation, it's purely a business decision in the here and now. Quite a few people seem to like even the most crappy passthrough experience and so they shoot this stuff. It's very much not even half-decently working gimmicky stuff and far from a final product.

                          Early VR porn was working great once it hit the market with the bigger studios. Resolution was of course a lot worse than today but it worked pretty well anyway. Not even remotely comparable to the passthrough situation right now.

                          No. It will only get better if there are headsets on mass market that offer a really good passthrough experience. These headsets don't exist and won't exist in the foreseeable future. SLR can actually do nothing about that.

                          There are only 2-3 traditional American VR scenes a week and only 1-2 in the Nash-style. That's not almost every day.

                          Would be fair if we actually knew how much traditional VR scenes they plan to release and where they plan to invest our money into. All they say is "more scenes" but there isn't that much gain left for Nash-style VR greatness as soon as you subtract the passthrough stuff, the censored JAV stuff and they still sub-par European scenes (and even the warehouse scenes).

                          And the overall number is pretty pointless anyway if you only or primarily wait for your favorite pornstars. If your favorite pornstar or the girl you're looking forward to only shoots such a scene there is of course disappointment, shouldn't come as a suprise. You know, they had her booked, they had her on set, they filmed her scene and yet all you get is a crappy greenscreen scene...

                          It's not a niche, it's actually something entirely else. It's like saying that VR porn was a niche of traditional 2d porn which is kind of mute. Passthrough is AR or MR but not VR.

                                    not only are the nash-style scenes only once a week, they are somehow worse and worse in quality. Compare the most recent raw taboo scene to the many in the past. The latest has horrible color and lighting, like they dropped the bitrate in half and got lazy with the filming. Like it was shot in the same location as the Xxlayna scene but looks awful in comparison.

                                      I'm generally of the opinion, if you don't like a video, there are plenty of others. However, since this thread is out, I will chime in my 2c. In the end, I'm glad this thread is out there, otherwise you would not know how many people dislike this concept.

                                      I don't enjoy passthrough and likely never will. It was fun to tinker around with when it was something new, but I quickly realized it was not for me for actually watching porn.

                                      If you are redoing something with the passthrough videos, please also redo the Jade Kimiko one. That girl is really sexy and I watched that one even though I don't like passthrough and the camera being a bit off making it appear like she's on your chest. Your passthrough videos might appear more popular than they are due to people watching them for other reasons such as mine.

                                      Hey everyone, we found away to avoid 2 videos solution so here is the direction we are going in, no more chroma keying the greenscreens, it will simply read the alpha. So the original file will be spill suppressed, meaning no more green color!

                                              metaverse To be blunt, that is BS. The people making scripts have choices to make about what script gets made when, and that is influenced by SLR. When a green screen experimental nonsense video is released WITH a script, while other popular videos remain unscripted, that is quite obviously displaying priority of one type of video over another.

                                              I am seriously tired of wasting my time explaining obvious facts to SLR employees trying their best to misrepresent and obscure them. Engage with us honestly, or don't engage at all.
