I think the good thing was that slr is also going for interactive script which I think is the future, just good VR movies just aren't enough anymore and I think slr also has a lot of new innovations what others don't have.
❌ VRBangers, VRConk, Dezyred, VRBGay, VRBTrans are OUT
I know that competition stimulates business, but it would be great if there was a big platform like there was with slr.
According to my reddit poll, >50% of people who pay for VR porn are subbed to SLR. I think we're going to see a lot of consolidation in the next few years (like VR Conk joining the VR Bangers group) and eventually SLR will have competition in the streaming space, but it will take a lot of investment. If Badoink, Wankz, NAVR, VRB etc are smart they will join forces but it seems most studio are so short sighted and only looking at their revenues in the immediate future. For all its flaws, SLR's ambitions in the tech and their evolving eco system is pushing the industry forwards. Other studios just want as much money from subscribers now with no thought of the future (eg creating VR Blow from parts of old scenes and selling it like it's fresh content, or creating shitty AI derived scripts and selling them as a DRM subscription service, or trying to sneak an extra subscription into new sign-ups). These companies need to look to the future, not insult their customers intelligence and bleed them dry without any genuine innovation.

Btw downloads Fair use police did a great job this time
Can't think of everyone downloading the shit out of SLR for the sake of keeping videos they won't even watch in their life skewing revenue distribution for the whole platform and creating peak bandwidth load.
Great we are bringing a piece of sanity into this crazy world
Having sustainable innovative economy is in everyone's best interest.
I think anyone who has ever tried interactive videos in combination with VR will certainly not want to give it back.
SLR has also made this easier and easier in recent years. The devices for this are also becoming cheaper. Before that, the offer was really meager and the installation (video, script, stroker) was a challenge. Then there were constant crashes. Today it's just a matter of launching the "Haptics Connect" app on your smartphone (for Bluetooth devices) and let the party get started. Setting up for The Handy is even easier.
SLR plays a large part in removing the technical hurdles. It's becoming easier to use, so I believe scripting support is becoming more relevant in choosing which studio the user subscribes to.
petermc On the one hand we have to be fair, without SLR, Xsinsvr probably wouldn’t even be able to operate in the first place. On the other hand though, having one mother site hosting everyone’s content means that you get less variety as sites all have to work within SLR’s rules.
I have to agree with you. Everything has its advantages and disadvantages.

You don't even need HC app with a proper device. SLR sex toy will be even easier. You take it outside of the box and enjoy working with the SLR app.
Haptics are an awesome addition for VR and we are adding a lot more of that.

This is exactly the point I wanted to express in my first post.
But I felt the same way before. I also download everything. Just to have in case a studio leaves. At some point I only downloaded the videos that I had already seen and that I liked. Until I had to admit to myself that I would probably never look at them again. The selection of content that I haven't seen yet is too big.
Just add up the costs you would have to spend on hard drives to store all these videos. And if you want it to be redundant, then you need a NAS. This has to run 24/7. Think of the electricity costs or rather the environment. If you don't have a redundant system and only use cheap consumer hard drives, data loss can occur. And so we're back where we stared.
My advice: Be realistic with you usage behavior. Then most people here will see that it makes no sense to download all the stuff.
someoneX 109 votes for SLR, from 215 participants. Don't be confused by the 20% figure, that means 20% of all subs are for SLR, but most people are subbed to multiple sites.
the script download limit is actually insane. Stuff like limiting script downloads to 3 is the reason why piracy crops up. adding artificial limits pretty much 100% of the time will encourage piracy and sharing of content off-site, no matter how much you can say "piracy bad". People genuinely want to access content legally, but when you do stuff like locking out paying subscribers it makes it very tough.
bobbytables there is a pay per script option for every script with unlimited downloads.
What about my statement about lifetime premium bundles?
Bought a lifetime premium bundle a few months ago, pretty bummed that so many scripts are going to be removed from streaming. With the 3 script dl per month limit it's impossible to get them all now with such short notice. And buying them kind of defeats the reason why I bought the bundle in the first place
doublevr there's also a pay-per-video option. I however instead went with a subscription so i didn't have to pay-per. How do you not see how insane it is to be like "don't want to pay per video? here's an unlimited video subscription. Want to upgrade to interactive on your subscription? sure! OH WAIT NO NOW YOU HAVE TO PAY-PER AGAIN BECAUSE FUCK YOUR SUBSCRIPTION". That's a shitty business model and frankly is a bit of a middle-finger to subscription customers.
bobbytables It's in no one's interest to see producers leaving. We are doing our best to address the situation and make everyone happy. Let's be civil and reasonable about things.
"I want everything and I want it now" logic is not helpful.
Also your tone is not appreciated at all.
bobbytables SLR Premium and SLR interactive script subscriptions come with unlimited content via streaming. If you want unlimited content via downloads, then you can purchase individual videos or scripts accordingly after you've hit your 3 script downloads/month or 30 video downloads per 144 hours.
What you're complaining about sounds like it's the fact that you're not getting unlimited content in the specific way that you want it, which is more of a "you" problem since SLR is a subscription service and AFAIK no one is forcing you to subscribe.
doublevr nobody cares if you appreciate their tone lol, weirdo.
justsomedude101 you’re silly if you think that’s just a “you problem”.
RockyMtHigh Factually correct. I am exceedingly silly.
I appreciate you told us in advance. Also the warning on the web page is a nice touch. I imagine a lot of subscribers don't read the forum.
Could we get likewise warnings if certain videos are removed in the future? That would be great!
You could still make a bundle sale for scripts for the creators. Like 30 scripts for 50 or something. Just brainstorming. But it's probably not enough time to implement in this short time frame anyway.
