SLR Streaming vs Downloads data
withy The graph was provided by the data team. I just posted it.
In this company we never fake things. I'm doing my best to make sure everything is what it is. Doesn't have to be nice, doesn't have to be perfect, it has to be what's real.

withy heâs really unprofessional.

doublevr In this company we never fake things.
The point isnât that the data is faked. Itâs that comparing files downloaded to time streamed is not compatible for a whole list of reasons. Itâs not apples to apples so no truly meaningful conclusion can be drawn. Any true data scientist will tell you the same and in fact they already have. You just donât seem to want to hear it.
argyle43 but they included one of those super fancy and complex trend lines, doesnât that make it legit?
Whatever the whyâs and whereforeâs, what that graph does show is a big increase in overall activity on the site which suggests it has grown the subscriber base a lot in that time. The more fans on here the better as you get a greater variety of tastes and hopefully this leads to a greater variety of content.
RockyMtHigh Right? Most of the time when I comment, I am legit trying to help him since I really want the site to succeed. Stubborn like a mule, though.

petermc exactly a point I tried to make above
argyle43 I think itâs safe to conclude that the steeper slope on the streaming graph just means your content is getting a lot better, and it is.
Increased quantity multiplied by longer time streaming views would support that conclusion, whereas downloads would continue to increase on a more constant and less steep slope; exactly what is depicted.
But I disagree the chart tells us that âstreaming is greater than downloadsâ, unless we can see data around how often files are opened and how long they are watched once downloaded. The conclusions around that are just guessed at above.

I only stream to check the scene (minute or two), if i like it i download and then watch, but since i check a lot of scenes and download a lot less (maybe 1 in 20 of those checked), i guess i contribute more to streaming, even though i strongly prefer downloads.

Streaming is totally fine, but I'd request to @doublevr that the Deo WebVR be activated in 4K. I'm fairly new to VR and have a very poor system. It would be fantastic if you enabled the 4K streaming option as an alternative for low-end users, like myself, interested in the JAV. As I understand it, downloading the JAV is out of the question because of your contract restrictions. But downloading streams of it should be fine, or at least it is for my friends who subscribe to the source R18. Right now it's only possible to use the SLR implementation of Deo WebVR for 1980 x 1980, whereas the Deo site has an implementation of the web format that allows for true 4K and even higher. Lots of foreign users with slow connections and bad rigs, like me, would benefit from the minor improvements in image quality. Amazing site, though, with fast servers and great content!
EDIT: Maybe I'm getting it wrong, because I recall reading on here that it is possible to stream at 4K in the web interface; but the implementation of Deo WebVR on this site shows no option for 2160p, which is the most common standard of '4K'.
Only 8% of users re-watch at least 60 sec of the same video in 2 month
Iâm telling you, if Seinfeld came back on the air theyâd make a Download Nazis episode.

Iâve taken my horse out of the race on this one as I went lifetime 2 1/2 years ago, but if this slow movement towards streaming only that you keep setting up with these posts (and comments in all the other posts) continues, youâre going to lose a lot of subscription renewals.
And these cherry-picked statistics and meaningless graphs say nothing. Thereâs a perception thing youâre not taking into account here. Take away peopleâs choices little by little, and soon enough theyâll stop choosing you.
Please stop this.

arguing this however is pointless. I just reread this entire thread. letâs remind ourselves, the original post up top is a graph comparing minutes streamed on one axis to files downloaded on the other. Apples to Tennis Shoes. The graph that would actually say something is the one that compares time streamed to the time downloaded files get watched once downloadedâŚ. minutes watched vs. minutes watched⌠not minutes vs. number downloaded. The meaningful comparison is obviously impossible, so instead this seeming and ever-evolving case to eliminate downloads at SLR is made via a steady drip of manufactured stats that could only convince people lacking the most basic understanding of math and data science.
clearly doublevr either hasnât read the patient and reasoned arguments above, just doesnât care, or more likely both.

Pulling this part of the thread back out too. That âbullshitâ I was ordered to stop bringingâŚ
the key language there is âany time soonâ, and what just happenedâŚ
Probably better lock this thread too I guess
Anyway, this is the portion of thread above that matters the most:
gurphh So please don't go too far with this. I will leave if you do.
