SLR Originals Quality

boudaba you realise that the max8k is the streaming file that you can download?
why is your screenshot even worse then the max8k? its supposed to be the same
how do you make a screenshot?
if you simply go by shift+win+s (default windows screenshot shortcut) then its not ideal for comparison. that way you basically take a screenshot of whatever resolution your screen which is different from making a SNAPSHOT from a video, which just extract an 8k frame from it.
same happens if you take a screenshot from your headset
please do let me know what way you do it
otherwise it makes no sense to compare it to anything
I understand not providing 60-100+ GB vids to download for every video, but at least keep the streaming file as it was, just don’t provide it to download?
I’d say its reasonable, no other studios provide the raw file except SLR in the past. But diminishing the main streaming quality in the process seems like a big setback
I love how everybody keeps acting dumb, like they dont know why people are complaining about the 8k max compressed download options now. You really expect people who prefer to download the maximum resolution file to pay 7 bucks more per scene if its not even that different? Are you mad? If this is how this website will go moving forward I will not support it anymore and I hope everyone else who also feels the same way will to. Give us the option to download the higher bitrate downloads
Manny_S There is barely any difference in file size between HEVC and AV1 and Max is compressed as hell. My PC cant seem to playback AV1 smoothly, so if you are not actually saving any significant amount of hosting space with those minimal savings in file sizes then what is the point? Image looks a little sharper? Then just crank up the damn sharpness ok the HEVC a little more and you cant even tell them apart. What a waste

VRSpy provides 90mbps files on their website.
RealJamVR/PorncornVR provides 60 mbps HBR on their website and a higher 100-120 mbps on their SLR releases (these are often 1-2 months later).
FuckPassVR provides 90mbps files on their website.
BadoinkVR sites provide 60mbps files.
POVR sites provide 40mbps files.
CzechVR sites provide 60mbps files.
VRHush provides 40mbps files on their website and 90mbps files on their SLR releases.
With this new change, SLR went from highest (120mbps+) to lowest (30mbps).
CzechVR used to provide 80mbps but went down to 60mbps. It was a sizeable but acceptable quality decrease.
With SLR, it feels like going from 3 star Michelin Gourmet Burgers to McDonalds while paying the same price.

There is no magic, lowering the bitrate will increase artifacts and smooth the image even in AV1.
ARPorn with similary content passthrough of SLR is at 75 mb/s in 10bits color with an acceptable file sizes about 20 gb.
Customers complained a few months ago and they increased their bitrate from 35 to 75 mb/s and switched to 10-bit color.
Masters are great but I can do without them if the birate is 60/70, This should be a basic quality here without paying extra monthly subscription price elsewhere just to have one video.
Removal of Master files and high bitrate download options from subscriptions are a deal breaker for me.
I love the SLRO productions but low bitrate download options degrades the quality too much for me.
It doesn't make sense for me to stay subscribed anymore if I can't enjoy the content. I won't pay extra per video, you can slightly increase the subscription price if required.

Like I said in other post, for me its the tip of the water in terms of greediness. For much examples or words we use and present it just doesnt matter.
You have a limit for downloading videos, a limit for downloading scripts (even AI generated!) and now you take us off the high bitrate of your videos. Its one thing to take of the high bitrate of other studios... now from you own studio doesnt make any sense for my head. Even makes less sense if you are a long time subscriber... Other sites make limits but for monthly subscribers... why dont you go this way and penalise only with these limits with montlhy subscribers? Or just raise a little bit the yearly subscription Just dont get the point besides grediness.
I most certainly wont spend any more money here with this kind of bahaviour.

It's a bad time to upset customers with the stock market crash due to tariff changes - this is gonna be massive and cost consumers heavily in the whole world, so luxury items and subscriptions are gonna be the first to go.
Who knows how this is gonna play out, but economically this is gonna be huge
Again, a bit of friendly advice to SLR, maybe hold off changes until you the dust settles... or just chill and have a nice bottle of wine

I think they're growing too fast, with too many technological advances that are driving up costs significantly, and they're trying to save money on network transfers. But this increasingly restrictive policy is sending a bad feeling to customers. If they feel the subscription doesn't cover the costs, then it should be increased subscriptions or offered different subscription packages, but not start reducing quality or charging for it in rather expensive extras. Personally, I won't be renewing my annual subscription.

Similar to the stock market SLR are creating uncertainty as to what is actually happening regarding upcoming changes to their subs and this uncertainty has proven to be disastrous.
Bearing in mind it is only us on these forums that undertstand the consequences of what has so far been proposed - The majority of customers don't even know yet - I honestly don't think SLR knows where there is going and just throws comments out their to see what sticks, but it's good entertainment and it's the weekend

fenderwq If that was the case to have room in the servers just take these files from the servers of producer AQUA... Now this is excessive and shouldn't be allowed... who wants a 248 gigas video? This must be 300 mb high bitrate... I think it's not even playable on quest... it just useless...

Holy feck... I was anticipating that the next upgrade to 12k may take original files to over 100gb , which understandbly is reason to cut down on these files due to server space.
But 250gb for 8k is just silly, especially for JAV as most don't even have download options and i can't see anyone downloading this - That's the size of a small hard drive
... which makes me think, what about putting a limit on the size of 'Orginal Files' from Studios as a space saver ? which although not perfect - maybe a happy medium ? 50 Gb ?
Basically having 60/70 mbits (30/40gb per file) would be good and it is not necessary to have videos longer than an hour. Other producers do it like that and everyone is happy.

It's a tricky one as i won't buy a scene under an hour long ! I want value for money and more of a chance that a position i like is included and not rushed
...Damn why can't we just stay as we are ? I don't care about AV1 or upcoming changes - I think everybody was happy and content !
The reality is anything i like turns to shit

Well one solution I could personally live with is just limit either the amount of HBR downloads per month per client (I guess I could live with 2 for example). Or limit the amount of GB downloaded per month per client, so also low bitrate downloads add up. I guess I could live with either of those. But paying $7 PPV, while I already paid for a subscription, nah, makes no sense, just pisses me off and I won't spend a dime extra.
But honestly, I suspect this is not about saving costs, this is about trying to get extra money out of the subscribers, having us pay for stuff we thought we already paid for.
