Handy 2 and Handy 2 Pro are MSRV $300 and $500 whenever they are full price live, respectively, according to their kickstarter page.

I have to be honest, it feels like FOMO. The 2 versions are pretty vast. I think that sucks.

I think that's good news for Melody, if you play your cards right.
Price point is going to be your greatest ally.

Greed will not serve you in this space, as it's becoming more crowded - and REMEMBER - they only sold 200k Handy's worldwide. The space is growing, but now it's about slices of the same pie.

I'm not trying to be the harbinger of doom, bien au contraire, I'd love to see you succeed, by being that price point hooker we all know you can be. 😉

ToyboyPM Just thought I'd throw in my perspective - The Handy 2 kickstarter ends on July 27th. I've already pledged, so after July 27th I will no longer be looking or considering any other devices (non-refundable at that point). Seeing Melody's specs or more info before July 27th might make me change my mind/cancel my pledge and wait for the Melody. I assume at least some of the other backers of the handy 2 might feel the same way and only have room/finances to commit to one device.

I have never understood this design, seems like it would get in the way of your body. Also, I hope there is an easy way to attach a flashlight and have hands free without buying an attachment that breaks.Those sleeves on the handy don’t look that great.

^ I think it's very important you guys release some serious demos before this 27th deadline. In particular, I am worried about....

How easy will it be to use the Melody hands free? The Handy 2 has built in options for a mounting arm. How are we supposed to mount the Melody?
How easy will it be to use third party sleeves (Flesh Light in particular) and how will heavier sleeves effect the motors performance (video samples demonstrating the motors strength would be great).

We’re engineering this like nothing else.
From firmware to manufacturing - this is a true hardware masterpiece in the making.
Here’s a fresh report from our lead engineer to show just how deep we’re going:

🔧 Firmware
• Refactored the script playback system – split into separate tasks for smoother performance. No more memory fault issues.
• UI upgraded – added animation to the round bars for a slicker feel.

🔌 PCB (Hardware)
• Reworking schematics per factory feedback – new components added, custom CAD library elements created.
• Tackled battery discharge issues – deep dive into hardware behavior, tests, and chipmaker collaboration. Turns out damaged ICs were the culprit. Fixed in the updated schematics.
• PCB is now being re-routed. New board to be finalized early next week and sent to the factory.

🏭 Manufacturing
• Multiple calls with the factory to align on engineering details. They’re waiting on the updated PCB to kick off sample production.
• Sample parts on the way: chargers, cables, springs, and soft-touch material – we’ll test and select the best.
