pkloverx The majority of people that watch flatscreen porn don't simulate, and are not interested in simulating, they just watch and enjoy the performance.
...i don't know about that mate. Pretty certain there's lots of simulation going on, even if it's just wanking yourself off. i've spent a while looking for data on "percentage of people who masturbate whilst watching porn", somewhat fruitlessly. There's plenty of stats on how the overwhelming majority of people do so for sexual pleasure, but no hard data on how many people don't stimulate themselves.
Personally, i think it's gotta be a very small percentage. Do you have any data yourself?
i hear you about the experience of VR vs 2D for non-POV, that's how i got into VR initially. But there are numerous ways they differ. Over the years, i've found i'm quite happy to watch 2D porn, principally because you can't film cinematically in VR like you can in 2D. Try panning from side to side a few times, and see how fast everyone throws up.
So if you're filming a scene in both VR and 2D, you need to make sure it has fixed camera angles, focused lighting, and all the other magic that goes into making a good VR scene, otherwise you'll be short selling the VR. At which point, all things being equal, i'd agree, the VR shoot would be more entertaining to watch than the 2D shoot.
pkloverx you have to get in the performers position in order to be immersed.
No you don't. It's definitely a thing, people have great fun playing with torsos and all that, but it's not necessary. i watch everything sitting up in bed, wrtvr the position, though i'd admit to lying down a bit for the lying down scenes, but it's not a requirement. My brain does all the heavy lifting of where i am in space time, no worries. Maybe that's why i don't like PT, i'm very indebted mentally to the scene for my positional map, when i see myself it goes haywire...
