As we are discussing with SLR directors future steps of bringing something new we get stuck with basic principles of how things work in VR. Getting all the cool intros and themes is easy, it's hardcore parts making things difficult.
On one hand, we have a deeply immersive experience unlike any flat video; on the other hand, that very immersion dictates specific camera positions and viewpoints that leave little room for experimentation. While in flat these could be shot from any perspective.
“Perfect POV” standard is making all the hardcore parts the same movie to movie. If we miss to put these in a perfect spotlight it breaks VR experience for most. With some very few enjoying the unexpected. Directors find themselves pigeonholed into repeating the same positions and perspectives to maintain immersion and meet audience expectations. This causes scenes to feel the well predicted across different studios and films. Most of the “action” is forced to unfold directly in front of a stationary camera, locking directors into a single perspective. And every time directors step aside to make their videos less predictable they get all the hate for not catering a "perfect POV" for some or choosing "the same boring stuff" for others. Certain angles and sex positions have become the default for VR porn and even with different casting it feels the same. Any deviation often prompts complaints about the scene feeling “off” or “less immersive”, while it is what brings all the variety to flat.
We are totally looking to bring unexpected into VR for the new season. For the same reason we are getting into flat bringing diverse, multi-angled experiences. Also making these stereo, 60FPS, highest quality playback in VR on a bended screen for even more immersion. Adding AI Scripts, experimenting with PT and Build Your Own Journey on top.
We can provide both for different users:
• Variety and Innovation for those craving fresh, unpredictable perspectives.
• Consistency and Comfort for those who prefer the tried-and-true “perfect POV.”
We’ll continue iterating our approach, listening to user feedback, and refining our technology to deliver the best possible experience—whether viewers are watching in a headset or on their phones. Embracing flat is about exploring new angles, preserving the immersive core of VR to greatly boost out VR production.
Makes me thinking of a passthrough with girls herself and nothing else being the spotlight
